Hi everyone, I know it’s kind of early but I just found out my partner and I are expecting. I don’t have any pregnant friends so thought it might be nice to chat to some fellow mummies/mommies who might be expecting around the same time.

A bit about me - I’m Katie, live in the UK and have a daughter who is almost 3.

Hope to get to chat to some of you Smile

@EssJayyCee I know! Feel like I’ve known I’m pregnant for so long and it’s still going to be 6 weeks until I get a scan. Loooong wait lol

@VAM24 I feel you on the aversions. The taste isn’t helping with that either lol have you had any sickness?

Iv been feeling horrific today, I'm struggling to eat all Only things I'm eating each day it two weetabix and a bagel with cheddar cheese, crisps and ice lollies definitely not the best diet but cooking anything with any favour or smell is turning my stomach so much!
Also my nipples were in agony last night to the point in cried it hurt that much... I know a few of you have said you've had sore boobs... what about nipples??

@HRlnd15 sorry to hear that your struggling and crying this was me last week honestly it will pass... it might come and go the doctor said to me but it's just our hormones.... hopefully in a few days you'll feel abit better x

Wezza1988 · 17/06/2020 14:35

Hey everyone first time on anything like this!! Just found out me and my partner are expecting feb 2021 were both over the moon after trying for 8 months!! keep having dizzy spells and last night woke up with bad stomach pain felt muggy and faint came round and 20 mins later was fine not too sure if it was trapped wind or just because the bedroom was so hot ive purchased a fan today just wondered if anyone else as had or having any similar symptoms? Smile xxx

Kwmac · 17/06/2020 14:49

@Jonsey1987 @wezza1988 congrats to you both. It’s my first baby too, so glad to have this group to talk freely about things.

I booked a private scan for 1st July ill be 8 weeks then. I was referred to the maternity unit by my GP but haven’t heard anything from them yet and need a date to look forward to!

I had dizziness alot the last two weeks especially in the evening but it has cleared up now and am feeling good! Also have random aches in my lower tummy which come and go but reading up on it seems pretty normal!

katiemc89 · 17/06/2020 14:53

@CWF123 don’t worry about the food side of things hun. I was reading today that you should eat what you can stomach for the first trimester and can reintroduce the fruits and veggies in the second trimester when you aren’t feeling so delicate.

@Jonsey1987 congratulations hun. I referred myself pretty much as soon as I found out. Some people I know have waited a week or so. I think it’s just personal preference. My booking appointment is next week and I’ll only be 6+6 by that point. I also know a lady who has had an early scan, I would like one at around 8 weeks but trying to hold out until 12 lol

@Wezza1988 congratulations on conceiving, you guys must be on cloud 9 after waiting so long. I’ve not felt muggy as you described it. Maybe you overheated? But something to keep an eye on I think x

@Kwmac thankyou congatulations to you aswell Smile
Thats good to know you know what google is like tells you all sorts ive not phoned the doctor yet because i think im only about 4 weeks!!
Yeah defo a good thing for you to book an early scan like you say something to look forward to!!
Aww glad your feeling good know hope my dizziness stops soon mine tends to be night aswell xx

Jonsey1987 · 17/06/2020 14:56

@kwmac thanks. I think they will scan me around 6 weeks - I've a feeling it's before 7??? I don't want to ring up and mither. I have a direct number for my epu and they have been brilliant in the past. I'd ring them direct instead of waiting for a referral - I believe most are at your local hosp. I'll probably need blood tests too so private won't be worth it and I feel like I'm on first name terms with them 😂😂😂. I feel bloated all the time and I've got trapped wind other than that no symptoms!

Jonsey1987 · 17/06/2020 15:00

@Wezza1988 congrats. Where I live I think you have your first midwife appt at 7-9 weeks?!? My gp didn't want to know and told me to ring a children's centre.
@katiemc89 thanks I think I'll give them a call when I hot 5 weeks then get in at 6 ish weeks!! Eeekkkkk!

EssJayyCee · 17/06/2020 15:25

@VAM24 She estimated my scan would be early August. It feels like forever away :(

I am tempted by an early scan. We are thinking of going at 7 weeks. Fingers crossed we can see a heartbeat then! 🤞🏻

HRlnd15 · 17/06/2020 15:41

@EssJayyCee
Aaaah okay, that's good to know. I'm really hoping I won't have to wait too long for scans etc...

Symptoms are varied, nausea most mornings, heartburn, so fatigued, forgetful, boobs aren't sore just feel fuller, slightly sensitive nipples though and twinges/light cramps.. but the last day or two I've really struggled food wise, anything I eat just gives me a really upset tummy.. all that plus super emotional.. it's sure is a rollercoaster... and it's so easy to over think and analyze everything or google things, which then you panic about, so hopefully tomorrow I can talk to the MW and she can shed some light and give some reassurance..

@CWF123
Aww bless you, I know exactly how you feel, I'm literally living on dry toast and crackers and water.. and gone off everything.. I hope it eases up for you soon xx

Poppyismyfavourite · 17/06/2020 15:44

@Kwmac I'm having the tummy aches too.

Glad to have this thread as I've not had any nausea yet so was worrying that was a bad sign. My boobs are killing me though.

Poppyismyfavourite · 17/06/2020 15:48

I also had a quick look on Asos, and I think I have found the ugliest dress ever:
www.asos.com/asos-maternity/asos-design-maternity-velvet-midi-dress-with-puff-sleeve-and-diamante-button-in-ochre/prd/13051170?colourwayid=16528084&SearchQuery=&cid=5813

Kwmac · 17/06/2020 16:30

@Poppyismyfavourite thats the dress I bought...haha joking Wink i have no nausea either i think we should be glad of as it sounds awful!!

marshallrubblechaserockyzoomer · 17/06/2020 16:32

Hi everyone! Just found out I'm pregnant FINALLY!! Due date around 25th FebGrinGrin

Mooncakeriser · 17/06/2020 17:14

Hi Everyone, it's my 1st time posting. I got my BFP on Monday and am 5 weeks. I had some bleeding for a while prior to getting my BFP so am I little concerned. The GP advised I wait another week and see what happens.

Summerrp · 17/06/2020 17:15

Hi all can I join :)

Found out last Saturday, I'm coming up 5 weeks. Due date 16 Feb. So happySmile

Have been feeling really rough. I started pregnacare sat and since then have been having awful headaches. I have tried changing the time I take it to just before bed to see if that helps.

I also keep getting awful pains in stomach which I think is trapped wind. It actually brings tears to my eyes, really painful.

Have sore boobs, have been exhausted and really feel low in energy.

First pregnancy as bad as symptoms feel I suppose they are all good signs x

emvy · 17/06/2020 19:00

Welcome to all the joiners! Another lovely bunch of you today!

In terms of symptoms, I’ve had the dizziness thing but it’s beginning to ease off now (it’s less frequent). Someone mentioned sore nipples, sorry I lost track of who, I have those! Had sore boobs with DS and would check them on waking everyday to reassure myself all was well still 😂 but none of that this time! Some food aversions and nausea, emotional and lots of bloating and trapped wind... glad I’m not the only one there, ha. Mine is worse at night, I think after I’ve eaten my evening meal as that’s definitely the most I eat in any one go.

I’m going to call the surgery Friday when I’ll be 6 weeks and ask to be referred to the midwife. With DS I had booking in at 8 weeks so assuming it will be around then again.

I wish I could get a scan through my EPU! They only see you if they’re really concerned and you can only go with a referral from a midwife or gp so we can’t call up ourselves. I would really love an early scan through them rather than paying to go private as I don’t know how a private firm would be for someone who is highly anxious about the outcome of the scan, rather than someone who is going for the excitement of it if that makes sense. Hopefully they’d be sensitive but it does make me hesitant.

emvy · 17/06/2020 19:05

@Mooncakeriser, I had some spotting before my bfp as well, I actually though af was coming and only tested because I couldn’t wait the few days for it to arrive! I had 3 days of some light pink streaks and slightly brown cm. I think it was implantation as nothing since. Could yours have been that?

@Summerrp keep an eye on your symptoms on Pregnacare, I was on them before and felt horrific. Switched to Seven Seas and felt so so much better. Lots of women have a reaction to Pregnacare for some reason!

lifefromhome · 17/06/2020 19:07

Congratulations to all the new positives!!
@HRlnd15 @CWF123 I have had a really sore right nipple, just the one though which seems strange. Also really struggling with eating anything nutritious, I have lived on ice lollies and rennies pretty much today. The fatigue is starting to set in and I get to about 9pm and just want to go to bed, but get into bed and can't sleep. I'm going to sort out registering at the doctors over the weekend so I can get my booking in appointment sorted,

HRlnd15 · 17/06/2020 19:27

@lifefromhome
I know what you mean I'm always the left and slightly the right! It is so bizarre! Aw bless you!!

@emvy I feel the same, really want to book a early scan ,, but so nervous about the outcome, husband is more reluctant and says everyone felts this way, 1000's of women are pregnant and all think and want the same and hold out for 12wk scan.. which I completely agree.. but for me and my mind I want that reassurance... but scared too... it's our first baby and after being told I may struggle to conceive, I've become paranoid about everything 🤦🏼‍♀️.

LucyGrace19961 · 17/06/2020 19:59

Congratulations everyone ❤️❤️ Does anyone still feel in disbelief?! I’ve taken 8 different tests and all positive! But still can’t believe it 😩

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 17/06/2020 20:02

Hi can I join? I'm from Leicestershire, 37 and second pregnancy. Early days, just found out I'm 4 weeks. Due date 25th February. Hello all!

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 17/06/2020 20:05

@Poppyismyfavourite oh my god that dress!!! Bloody awful. I'm not sure if I'll fit into my maternity clothes from last time I'm a stone heavier (kept meaning to lose it but never actually did)

emvy · 17/06/2020 20:14

@lifefromhome my right is definitely the worse of the two! I was still breastfeeding DS (2yo) but have had to stop now, it was soooo painful! I got the same pain with ovulation actually but that was obviously much more short lived!

@HRlnd15 aww I’m so glad it’s happened for you considering what you were told! I’m anxious just because of pervious miscarriages (before DS but they still haunt me!) and although I know something can still go wrong between a say 8 week scan and a 12 week one, I just want to rule out a mmc at 6.5 weeks like I had before! Tbh though, sooo many women actually have early scans! A lot more than I originally thought. So if you want to, go for it. I’m still in two minds so just waiting until nearer the sensible time frame. Not that I’ll be less anxious at that than a 12 week one! 😬
