Hi everyone, I know it’s kind of early but I just found out my partner and I are expecting. I don’t have any pregnant friends so thought it might be nice to chat to some fellow mummies/mommies who might be expecting around the same time.

A bit about me - I’m Katie, live in the UK and have a daughter who is almost 3.

Hope to get to chat to some of you Smile

Thanks @CWF123 @VAM24 for tips - hate feeling like this am so nauseous all the time and have an interview this afternoon! How will I manage?? I will check out those sweets though

CWF123 · 16/06/2020 14:34

This is such a nice group and I think considering we are all strangers it's so nice how people pull together to reassure and make each other feel better!
Iv had a rough morning feeling sick today! I really want to try and eat healthy but all I can manage is beige food everything else is sending me over the edge! Haven't actually been sick though!
Good luck on the interview today keep us posted once your in there you'll feel focused! :)
Congratulations to all new new mums to be! I can't wait to have first midwife appt for some reassurance! I think they should definitely see people sooner especially first time mums to chill us all out! 😂🙈 the wait time seems to drag!!

BeanieBabyLovex · 16/06/2020 14:42

Hi everyone just read through the whole thread everyone seems so lovely! Such exciting but nerve wracking times!

I found out on Saturday evening, as I was hungover on Friday and I never get hangovers so thought let's have a POAS moment and low and behold CB said 1-2 weeks.

I am a POAS addict and I need to stop because I suffer from bipolar and need to avoid any triggers such as line progression and week progressions. Think I also need to ban myself from google as well lol.

EDD is 20.02.2021 making me 4+3/4 days. Booked a private scan for 04.07 making me around 7 weeks! X

VAM24 · 16/06/2020 15:12

Welcome @lifefromhome congrats on your positive tests! 😊

@lydiangel83 good luck with your interview hopefully you can get through it without feeling tooo sick! Let us know how it goes

@BeanieBabyLovex congrats to you too! It's such an anxious time but doing my best not to stress. Our early scans are the same day so fingers crossed they go well!! I am trying not to think about it too much as v scared but hopefully all will be fine on the day. I've stopped testing now as was getting super anxious about lines/weeks so think it's best to just avoid it if you can!

BeanieBabyLovex · 16/06/2020 15:16

@VAM24 I think it is time for me to stop, positive is positive we just have to enjoy the madness haha!
The 4th seems so far away Shock just need it to be here tomorrow lol
Have you had many symptoms ?

VAM24 · 16/06/2020 15:25

@BeanieBabyLovex yep know what you mean. I don't know how I'd wait for the 12 week scan, even this one seems like ages away!

Yeah my symptoms hit pretty bad on Sunday (which I think was 5 + 4?) with nausea and tiredness, I've got tablets from the gp now as was really struggling to function and they've definitely helped a bit.

For those suffering with sickness the sour hard sweets definitely help take the edge off for half an hour or so, but might be worth trying to get them from a supermarket. The preggie pop drops on amazon were nearly a tenner which feels expensive for sweets but they are working 😊

lifefromhome · 16/06/2020 19:15

Thank you @VAM24 😊

Does anyone find specific times of the day where their nausea is worse than others? I'm attempting to cook dinner but just want to heave. I've really suffered with heartburn constantly all day today and yesterday, I felt like I could breath fire 😂

Has anyone phoned the doctors yet, what is the protocol there? I need to register at my new local surgery but don't know if I should ring my current one in the mean time. Sorry for the silly questions

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 16/06/2020 19:20

Hello everyone. Congratulations on your news!
We found out we are expecting number 3 a couple of weeks ago. We were finished having kids for many reasons. The main one being we lived in a 2 bed flat with only the possibility of extending, no chance of moving, not that I would want to because I love where we live. I'm struggling with the news a bit at the moment, but getting more positive as the days go by.

wannabe123 · 16/06/2020 19:37

Glad I'm not the only one with the light headed/dizzy/fuzzy feeling!
I am trying to stay positive but at night I keep worrying that something will go wrong. I've not got an reason to think it would and am trying so hard to relax about it all. Easier said than done!

Roseandrose20 · 16/06/2020 19:51

Hi can I join you all please? Due date currently is 17th February, only symptoms so far are extremely sore boobs which seemed to have eased a little today thankfully and some mild stomach / pelvic pains. This will be my second DC Smile

Kwmac · 16/06/2020 20:00

@Wewearpinkonwednesdays congrats. It is obv a bit of a shock to you but you will be able to make it work. I didn’t expect to get pregnant so soon so I feel a bit up and down about it!

@wannabe123 my dizziness has now disappeared which is great so hopefully yours will ease up too.

The only symptom I have now is sore boobs. When I exercise the friction of my sports bra is awful. I am contemplating getting an early scan but don’t want to go early. I was going to go at 9 weeks. I have called the GP who has referred me to hospital but waiting on a phonecall to confirm appt date. Wish I had a date to aim for!

Also I feel I am tempting fate I ordered some maternity clothes on ASOS as they had a sale am worried have jinxed myself Sad

CWF123 · 16/06/2020 20:10

@Wewearpinkonwednesdays
Ahh three that exciting but everything happens for a reason and you'll make it work for you :) get on Pinterest and look at all the space saving hacks 🙌🏻 will Keep your Mind busy and ease the worrying..

@wannabe123 sorry to hear your suffering with dizziness I hope that settles down for you soon. I worry at night at aswell it like the mind goes wild! But Iv been watching funny programmes till I get tired and that helps my mind escape

Welcome @Roseandrose20 :) eveyone seems to have sore boobs but it's been my nipples that have been the worst they sting some much I have to put freezing cotton pads on them! 🙈

@Kwmac aww your not tempting fate it shows how excited you are! Iv been having a nosey at stuff my jeans are already feeling tight! I think I'm going to end up living in leggings.

My worrying has eased a little now I got work up and spoke to my doctor he reassured me it's just hormones and that they have seen a rise in anxious mums to be especially due to covid so if anyone is feeling abit low might be worth just ringing the doctor even though I knew this myself was nice for a professional to reassure me and it's made me feel a lot more at ease!
Sorry for the long post 😂

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 16/06/2020 20:46

@Kwmac @CWF123, thanks it's been a huge shock, the excitement will come.

Try not to worry too much, you have not jinxed anything. It's just good sense to buy things on sale.

Think I'm around 8 weeks at the moment.
I usually have awful sickness all through my pregnancies, this time it's seems to ease off by about 12pm so hopefully that keeps up. Luckily I work from home this time so always close to the toilet.
Unfortunately this time eating seems to be the only thing that's making me feel better.

lydiangel83 · 16/06/2020 21:32

@VAM24 do u know what tablets u got? I think someone mentioned some but they were different to mine which are Prochlorperazine and I have just read you shouldn't take these whilst pregnant!? Will ring doctors tomorrow to clarify as they are also not making me feel much better to be honest! Struggling to fit in clothes already due to weight gain from eating so much as it's only thing that helps!

VAM24 · 16/06/2020 21:45

Hey @lydiangel83 I'm on the same! I googled them too and panicked but then felt pretty rough again earlier so took one and it definitely helped. From what I read on pregnancysickness.org they should be safe before the third trimester so I'm hoping it'll be ok!

My doc did say that if they didn't work to call back and they'll try and find something else so you could try that- there are definitely a few options available. Last time I had metoclopramide which also helped but I was scared to go on it again because of MMC last time (I'm sure it wasn't related but I was just nervous) there is a little less info on the safety of that on pregnancy too so I'm glad ive switched this time.

LucyGrace19961 · 16/06/2020 22:08

@emvy congratulations!! Sorry to but in.. I only find out yesterday that I am 3 weeks! I managed to contact my doctor and get an appointment straight away tomorrow! Reason being my work relies a lot on manual handling etc so I need to confirm asap. (It also will give me a piece of mind that I am actually pregnant, even if I have done 4 positive tests) haha!

EssJayyCee · 17/06/2020 10:12

Hi everyone!

Have any of you had your telephone booking appointment yet?

I've had mine this morning at just 5weeks+3 but because they go by LMP they have me down at 6+4 (I ovulate late though).

lydiangel83 · 17/06/2020 11:15

@EssJayyCee I should probably know this but how did u date yourself differently to midwife if they go by last period?

EssJayyCee · 17/06/2020 11:57

@lydiangel83 I have irregular cycles and I don't ovulate at the average CD14.
I ovulated on CD23ish as shown by BBT charting and opks etc. So it's around 9 days different to what the LMP date suggests :)

If that makes sense.
If you know when you ovulate there are plenty of Due date calculators online that you can use to find out due date based on that instead of LMP.

Kelcat9494 · 17/06/2020 12:32

I'm just about a feb baby haha I'm due 01/02/2021 but it may be a January baby!

HRlnd15 · 17/06/2020 12:32

@EssJayyCee

How did it go?
I have mine tomorrow as il be 8weeks...
feeling so anxious and been super emotional these last two days... crying for no reason... just want everything to be okay... the waiting is hard...
xx

katiemc89 · 17/06/2020 12:50

Hey everyone. My taste buds have gone to absolute pot. Everything tastes horrible 🤢 I don’t remember this from the first time. Hoping it passes soon. Anyone else experienced this?

@EssJayyCee I guess they will change your EDD when you go for your scan and they take baby’s measurements. Looking on the bright side, at least you’ll get to see baba a week earlier lol

Hope everyone is doing well 💖

EssJayyCee · 17/06/2020 12:55

@HRlnd15 It was okay, it was just basic health questions mainly with information thrown in too. It was alot to take in for a telephone appointment!

I've got a blood and urine test and having my Blood pressure checked in two weeks.

Then after that I should get a date for 12 week scan.

It's still so early for me to feel so excited about things after MC in January.

Oh bless you, My SIL was very emotional through most of both of her pregnancies.

I don't really have any symptoms at the moment just bigger boobs and areola and the odd twinges in my tummy but I'm not sure if that's not bowel related 🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

EssJayyCee · 17/06/2020 12:56

@katiemc89 That is very true! 😁
The midwife said my scan would be early August! That feels like forever away! 😫 x

VAM24 · 17/06/2020 12:59

@EssJayyCee ooh I'm jealous you had the appointment already. I'm similar with my dates, 7+2 based on lmp but think I'm actually 6 weeks exactly because of late ovulation. Did they give you a scan date yet?

I got an auto response from my online self referral and they said they'll contact me by 10 weeks so probs still got some time to wait.

@katiemc89 that sounds horrible! I think my taste is ok but I'm definitely getting aversions - certain foods I can't even look at without feeling ill. I'm eating so many ice lollies!!
