Hi everyone, I know it’s kind of early but I just found out my partner and I are expecting. I don’t have any pregnant friends so thought it might be nice to chat to some fellow mummies/mommies who might be expecting around the same time.

A bit about me - I’m Katie, live in the UK and have a daughter who is almost 3.

Hope to get to chat to some of you Smile

I am going to tentatively join this group, I was pregnant in April but miscarried the beginning of last month at 6/7 weeks. I was due Christmas Day and joined that group but obviously had to bow out which was hard. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to join another thread but I am, clearly! I’m due the very end of February but I have a 4 and 2 year old both born at 39 weeks so it’s more than likely going to be another slightly early baby (I hope!).

lydiangel83 · 27/06/2020 15:41

@EssJayyCee we had private scan at 8ish weeks and saw heartbeat which made it all real, and was great DH could come too

lydiangel83 · 27/06/2020 15:41

@SunshineAsh I'm so sorry :(

emvy · 27/06/2020 21:24

@SunshineAsh, I’m so sorry. Please look after yourself x

EmBrum · 27/06/2020 21:41

Evening ladies! I was on the FEB 2021 due date thread but it reached 1000 and I think it therefore stopped a couple of days ago :/ Hope I can migrate over here - Hello!

1st baby due about 8th Feb (2nd pregnancy - mc last november) so I'm 8 weeks on Monday I think. Have a scan booked for then - fingers crossed. Quite a few symptoms this time so that's helping with the pregnancy after MC anxiety.

Best of luck everyone! X

katiemc89 · 27/06/2020 22:13

@EmBrum welcome, anyone is welcome over here. Congratulations and hopefully this one is a sticky one for you. I’ve booked an early scan for when we’ll be 8+6. Counting down the days!! Good luck on Monday xx

Hi All,

I am pregnant for the first time and a new mom-to-be. I am very early days, so trying not to get too excited. But estimated due date is Feb 26th 2021! Hope you all are well x

EmBrum · 27/06/2020 22:39

@katiemc89 thanks so much for the welcome and best of luck with your scan too.

Congrats and hello @MomToBe2021 x

MomToBe2021 · 27/06/2020 23:10

Thank you @Embrum! Have some anxiety as I've been really fortunate with little to no symptoms. Five weeks tomorrow, going to see my midwife in two weeks and I booked an early scan for 8 weeks but super impatient for that now.

Best of luck to everyone with their scans!

NavyBerry · 27/06/2020 23:18

Hello all. May I join? I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant due on 21 Feb. 2nd baby, I have had 2 miscarriages since our daughter was born so we are very happy. It took me a year and half to conceive. We were about to start all the infertility tests after the lockdown.
Please could smb point me out into the right direction? Where do I book an early scan if not on NHS? I'm not from the UK, only my husband is. Long before we go back to my country so wanted to check on baby here. Thanks!

VAM24 · 28/06/2020 07:29

Welcome and congrats @MomToBe2021 @EmBrum 😊

Hi @NavyBerry congrats to you too! I would just google 'private early ultrasounds near xxx' obvs adding where you live and lots of options should come up. There are lots of companies that do them just depends on location I think.

rraaarrrr17 · 28/06/2020 07:35

Congratulations to all of you Smile first time pregnancy here too. I believe I'm about 6 weeks along and due Feb 17th!

I was just wondering if anyone has heard from a midwife yet? I cant go into my doctors so I've had to fill out a pregnancy package and send it back and I've been currently waiting over a week. Is this normal?

Peach1204 · 28/06/2020 08:03

@rraaarrrr17 congratulations! I have heard from my midwives. I phoned the dr the day I found out (17/6) to advise I was pregnant, she sent me the details I needed to send the the midwives. I emailed them the details then they replied advising I was booked in for a blood test (7th July), would have a 45 minutes call between 7-10 weeks and receive a letter with a scan date. This email was received 18/6 so all done within 36 hours. I'm currently 5+4 and hospital is in Warwickshire. I have heard of other counties being quite slow and some people are being told they won't hear until 12 weeks which seems incorrect when you should have a scan then. Hope that helps. Xxx

katiemc89 · 28/06/2020 08:12

@rraaarrrr17 I think because of covid all nhs trusts are doing things differently. I’ve already had a face to face booking appointment with all the bloods etc and have a date for the scan. Some women I know are having over the phone booking appointments with bloods being taken at 12 weeks. I would chase when you’re around 8 weeks if you haven’t heard anything by then x

rraaarrrr17 · 28/06/2020 08:22

@Katiemc89 @peach1204 thank you for your experience and advice. I think I will wait until I'm 8 weeks and call me gp again. X

Summerrp · 28/06/2020 08:30

I am 6 weeks and 2 days. I had to self refer to my local hospital, a couple of days later I recieved a phone call booking appointment for the 6th July and I also recieved my first scan appointment for 13th Aug so I will be 12weeks and 6 days. Seems such a long wait

Jonsey1987 · 28/06/2020 08:52

I'm 5 weeks 3 days and I've got a scan booked (NHS) this Friday as my last pregnancy was etopic. Planning to ring the midwife straight after once it's confirmed, I was hoping I would have a face to face appt at 7-8 weeks. I think I'll be gutted if its all over the phone!! I'll ask lots of questions at my epu as I've no idea how us Manchester lot work???

emvy · 29/06/2020 08:27

Welcome to our new joiners!

@rraaarrrr17, I haven’t heard back from a midwife yet. I contacted them over a week ago. Called to follow up at the end of last week and they said just to wait as they will get back to me. I get so anxious about everything so I’m not enjoying the wait! I’m 7+3 according to period dates but 6+5 according to measurements on a scan last week. Things are different from when I had DS as that was booked through my GP surgery but everything has changed because of covid. I do think it’s normal for you not to hear until between 8-10 weeks though.

@Jonsey1987 good luck with your scan on Friday!

Since I hit about 6 weeks I’ve been floored with nausea & just generally feeling terrible. I can’t do anything! I’m at home with my 2yo on my own all week and I’m so worried about how I’m going to get through feeling like this. The house is a mess & far too much telly is being watched! Really hoping the next 5/6 weeks fly by & symptoms ease after the 12 week scan. Not before because obviously even though it’ll be a relief I’ll just be panicking something is wrong..! Oh the emotions!

Hope everyone else is getting on ok x

Jadeb1995 · 29/06/2020 08:41

Hope you don't mind me joining, I got a BFP yesterday and today (as we still didn't believe it!).
I'm 25, 1st baby for me and partner who is 30. I feel so over the moon and lucky but I don't really know where the start!
I've worked out I'm due around 28th Feb xx

SDC87 · 29/06/2020 10:21

Hi all,

I got my BFP 2 weeks ago now and I have just been here 'lurking' lol. I am 7 weeks tomorrow and this is my first. I had the implant removed in March and wasnt expecting it to happen this quickly!

My first symptoms were the stomach cramps the day my period was due...but no period! Cramps continued for a good week afterwards. I was in a proper panic, especially when I was getting sharp pains around my ovaries. Anyway, that eased off and now I am dealing with the sickness and what feels like a constant hangover :( also not sleeping...cant get comfortable and really tossy and turny - anybody else?!
I also have what I beleive are called 'fanny daggers' haha. Is this normal so early on?

Last thing and sorry if TMI, but I dont have any dicharge at all....should I be worried?

Booking appt 8th July :)

Peach1204 · 29/06/2020 12:36

Wow! This group is insane for the amount of BFPS! Congratulations all newbies! Xxx

VAM24 · 29/06/2020 12:42

Congrats to the new BFPS 😊 @SDC87 @Jadeb1995

I'm also struggling with sleeping - I'm alwaysss tired and sleeping a lot but waking up and moving around loads too.

Food aversions have gone through the roof there is so little i can stomach atm basically just bread and some fruit which doesn't help as being hungry makes me even more nauseous. 🤢 Can't wait to be in 2nd trimester and know the baby is safe then hopefully some of the not fun symptoms will calm down.

Hope you are all coping ok with symptoms! X

coconutseverywhere · 29/06/2020 13:00

Hi Ladies! I'm totally new to mumsnet and so excited to find this thread although I know it's a little old now :)

I'm 29 years from the UK. I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first baby (it's also our first pregnancy), and I'M ALSO DUE ON 9TH FEBRUARY! @katiemc89 @Piccalily19 must be something about 9 months before that date Wink

It still doesn't feel real at this point, I just can't wait for that first scan and the 12-week mark

coconutseverywhere · 29/06/2020 13:01

Oh I've just realised there are 13 pages and people are still posting, YAY! Told you I was new Wink

CWF123 · 29/06/2020 13:12

Just noticed that a few people have had their 12 week scan date though... I'm 8 weeks and 4 days according to my app, Iv had my bloods taken but not had my follow up call yet? How long would this be after my appt?
How many weeks before your 12 week scan date did you get your letter? I'm worried now that I haven't received mine and should of done.
