I always say don’t have a child if you don’t accept either sex although I appreciate people can’t help what they prefer. @Indigogirl88 I am sure he will come round, funny how he said only say if it’s a boy, surely he would have realised it was a girl if you kept quiet! I’m sure he will bond with the baby just as much once he’s gotten over how he feels.

My husband really wants a girl! I’ve been conditioning him by calling the baby a “he” so he gets used to it, not sure it’s done much as he just goes “don’t you mean she”. 😂 ... we shall see!

It's easy to fixate on the sex of the baby when it's literally all you know about them. Once the reality of the little person comes to the fore it's less of a big deal. I'm sure he'll be fine eventually @Indigogirl88.

@Indigogirl88 that sucks about his reaction. Has he said why he was so upset about it?

@CouscousEvaporator @LexiM and @FourPlasticRings thank you all for your advise and suggestions. I can’t wait to shop mine as well but not sure where to start? (Excitement will surely kill me someday ) ending up myself with too much unwanted stuffs hehe.. Anyways, I will try to hold back myself not to shop too much cloths for my little one.

I think it's totally fair to have a little preference but still wholeheartedly love the idea of either sex - not to so much to have a big man huff when it's a day for celebration. Hope you're okay @Indigogirl88 - she'll end up daddy's little princess soon enough! Bloody men.

My sort of preference was for a girl, just based on having a really close relationship with my mum (which is silly as can easily have that with either) but I'm excited for a boy too and all the fun that brings. DH is one of three boys, with one brother having two boys, so I'm pretty sure we'll have a family of boys (if we're lucky to have more kids), which will be wonderful, crazy and I'm super excited for it.

Back from my rescan and the heart is healthy, thank goodness! Baby was kicking like mad in the waiting room so of course it makes sense that she was literally doing handstands once they got her on the screen 😳 after 10 mins of prodding she finally cooperated. I fear that this stubbornness may predict things to come. Look at those legs though! 😍

Well it's funny you should say that @quiffy as he signed up for Disney a few weeks back and has been playing Disney songs all afternoon, tbf I think hes coming round to it now after the initial shock but I appreciate all your support girls.

I'm just massively relieved all the checks went ok. And now. Must. Resist. Buying. Too. Many. Cute. Outfits.

Has anyone seen H&M baby clothes, they're so reasonable and totally dreamy

I was however thinking that babies are due October just going into the colder seasons so perhaps need to wait a month or so for some winter bits to come out

Congrats on all the new scans!! As soon as those babies are in their arms those Dads are going to forget all about gender! My youngest niece is a little brute and super into cars and mud and climbing trees etc. Could it be possibly be Dads wanting boys are worried they won’t get to do the traditional ‘gendered’ activities? My experience is little girls will be into whatever they are given the opportunity to explore :) Also, girls in my family are all for their Dads! I’m having a little boy and hope he is a Mummy’s boy 🤣

@Indigogirl88 I'm glad he has come round.

We got good news that some friends had their little girl yesterday, DH was talking to him about where he had to be during the birth. Apparently there was a line of cars with blokes alseep waiting to be let in when their partners were in active labour. He suggested taking a sleeping bag to have in the car! I'm hoping by October they will relax the current rules and partners will be allowed in for the whole time.

Congrats @otterbaby and @Indigogirl88 🥰 lovely news on the scans, and I’m quite certain the amazingness of having a healthy baby to love will totally overcome any preference on the gender 😊

And having not planned to do any shopping til we’ve made it safely through the 20 week scan, I’ve had one friend and my mother in law get in touch with beautiful second hand clothes and a car seat... so exciting! My DH has pointed out we don’t actually have a car, but I still reckon it’s progress 😄

Totally forgot to upload our scan in all the madness earlier. Time to get excited ah ladies 😃

Have my scan tomorrow morning, feeling nervy but I get nervous before every app and so far all has been fine so just trying to remember that..

Mine is also tomorrow at 9.30. Glad its early otherwise I'd be stressing all day. Already laying in bed feeling restless and anxious.

Good luck @buzz22 and @Glitterbug86 and I think @Quiffy maybe too? Mine is first thing tomorrow 9am and they have asked to do my whooping jab straight after. Going to struggle to sleep tonight with heat and nerves!!!! Bump is feeling and looking massive however if that’s a good sign!!

So this evening DH told me I looked the size of a whale (he's totally exaggerating) I'm only a size 10 everywhere except my boobs and obvious baby bump which seems to be growing quite fast -even my consultant commented on the "size of it when I'm just over 19w and not carrying twins or a huge baby"! So my DD says "but you're a beautiful whale mummy" should I be happy?? Xx

I've woken up to high winds and rain this morning. Had to go round and close a load of windows. Finding it hard to go back to sleep now.
