@BooMamaBear I definitely need some leggings, I got some online but they're a bit scratchy so excited for something soft. Very excited for cider as well - must be the warmth! This group is wonderful for recommendations

Quiffy · 21/05/2020 10:52

@treacle81 defo finding out sex - I'm so impatient and only lasted this long as no private scans near me hehe. I'm so sure of boy (nub people agree) but I keep dreaming it's a girl. Ahhhh scan a week today!

HerondaleDucks · 21/05/2020 10:57

Congratulations @Indigogirl88

I hope you're ok xx

otterbaby · 21/05/2020 11:31

Glad the scan went well @Indigogirl88 hope everything is alright x

BntTowers · 21/05/2020 11:33

I've just walked down to the shops and I feel like my bump is finally showing a bit. Also it means I got burgers so I'm excited for dinner tonight.

I second Love Legging, I'm tempted to order another pair. Has anyone found any maxi dresses online anywhere? I have a couple which are ok for now but I'm getting fed up of wearing either of them or my leggings and a choice of 3 tops. Should maybe do some maternity shopping.

FourPlasticRings · 21/05/2020 11:40

@bluemoon2468

That's lucky! Enjoy it. I'm waiting to see what I get told WRT coronavirus. It's not that long until the holidays anyway though.

otterbaby · 21/05/2020 11:45

@BntTowers I got a maxi dress in the seraphine sale and it's really nice quality!

Pokhara3399 · 21/05/2020 11:51

Wow, Congratulations to everyone on their scan and good luck to others Smile
Has anyone started doing their shopping for a little ones (baby)? Please do advise and share your suggestions. Thank you ladies Wink

BooMamaBear · 21/05/2020 12:02

I loved the Snuz pod for DD this
time we have a lower bed so it won't fit to the side but I'll take it off the stand and use it downstairs as it rocks when off the stand and use a brand new Moses basket I won from Audi in the bedroom! Xxx

CouscousEvaporator · 21/05/2020 12:18

Glad it went well @Indigogirl88 hope you’re ok!

I got my leggings from new look, they are slightly see through when bending but perfect with a tea dress. I’m mostly in gym leggings or midi dresses. ASOS do some nice maternity stuff. I really need some maternity Strappy tops and shorts though. I said I wouldn’t buy anything much but seeing as I’ll be at home all summer I think I might get a few staples!

@Pokhara3399 we’ve bought the pram (it was on offer and it was too good to miss) and a couple of teddies but am holding off til the scan for the rest 🙂

LexiM · 21/05/2020 12:35

@Indigogirl88 glad baby is doing well and hope all will be ok about the gender, I’m sure it will as time passes.

@Quiffy I hardly ever drink either but have been loving the alcohol free cider, i reckon definitely it’s the sunshine encouraging me 😂

@Pokhara3399 I’ve done bits of shopping for small things like Muslins, vests, the odd baby grow. I keep looking at bigger items like a bedside crib, pram etc. but still holding out hope I can see them in the shops sometime soon!!

I’ve got two pairs of maternity jeans, one fits fine now the other I need to wait a bit and 5 tops of varying bump sizes. Stretchy vest tops fit now but those with the side bits to make room for the bump need more of a bump first. I’m getting by I’m relaxed stretchy summer trousers and dresses as well. I really don’t want to buy too much. I’m hoping towards the end of pregnancy i don’t feel cold so I don’t have to get any warmer items, can’t see that happening with my own hot water bottle attached. Luckily for me my office doesn’t get hot because of where the windows are, so I don’t even realise how hot it is until I finish work.

Not feeling very motivated today, wish I was in the garden. In terms of maternity leave I’m probably taking 6 months followed by less hours using holiday. It’s difficult for me because I’m the only employee, so whilst I’m entitled to up to a year I don’t feel I want to take it otherwise I will find it difficult coming back into the busiest period. I will however be allowed lots of flexible hours and work from home which is good.

MrsD1990 · 21/05/2020 12:54

@zaalfruit wow really smart your husband negotiated paternity leave so far in advance! We're lucky my husband is at a company with really good paternity leave cover (better than my maternity leave which only covers us in full for just under 4 months! Then goes down to half for just under two months). Really like the thought of sharing ♥️♥️

FourPlasticRings · 21/05/2020 12:59

@Pokhara3399 I'm not shopping much this time around- went neutral last time so we can use everything again even without finding out the sex. I really love M and S for babygros- really soft, helpfully coloured popper for buttoning up and in built scratch mitts. There's an organic range too and they're very reasonably priced. My advice would be to go for quality rather than quantity as they don't actually change outfits that often in the newborn stage- poonamis hit slightly later and they're not that drooly at this stage. We didn't actually put DD in half the stuff that was bought for her.

Treaclepie19 · 21/05/2020 13:02

Glad your scan went well @Indigogirl88!

We were the opposite @FourPlasticRings and had a refluxy newborn who was changed constantly 😭

Yikes, bless you. I think we used bibs or muslins (or our shoulders!) for spit up, but DD was more predictable as to when she'd do it. I think we had to get changed more often than DD did in the early days!

Zaalfruit · 21/05/2020 13:31

Ahh congratulations @Indigogirl88!!

( ordered my leggings from love leggings aswell )

Indigogirl88 · 21/05/2020 13:32

Hi ladies,

So here is what's happened this week...

Dp said it was up to me whether I wanted to find out the gender...up till now I've been team yellow. So yesterday I flipped a coin which said yes I should find out

I was more nervous about the abnormalities but after some poking and prodding she found everything she needed.

So we were told, team pink! Yaaay!

And then I had to tell dp.... he was adamant he only wanted to know if it was a boy.

But I decided to tell him anyway, to say he was disappointed was an understatement. Theres been tears and me worrying that he wont bond with baby. So I told him to get over it. I said hes got a few months to get his head around it and it's funny how these things come to tell us something. Ie get your head out of your f-ing arse!

Buzz22 · 21/05/2020 13:33

@Indigogirl88 glad scan went well. Hope you are ok?

I keep thinking about ordering maternity leggings soon so keep the suggestions coming ladies!
My scan is tomorrow morning. Feeling nervous as it was when we got our bad news last time. Which is silly really as I had the scan with a consultant last Friday and all looked ok.
It's so hot today. I dont know how I'm going to cope being heavily pregnant in summer!

Indigogirl88 · 21/05/2020 13:39

@buzz22 yeah it went really well she had to spend a fair bit of time as baby was in a funny position, but she checked the gender twice hehe. Placenta is high which is good

I got my leggings from newlook they're quite thin but nice and lightweight

I think I'll live in cotton maxi dresses and playsuits all summer. If the shops open properly!

otterbaby · 21/05/2020 13:49

@Indigogirl88 ahh that sounds shit ☹️ I'd be really upset at that reaction. Hopefully it was just a bit of shock and he'll come around sooner rather than later (not like he has a choice!!). Congrats on the little girl though 🥰

CouscousEvaporator · 21/05/2020 13:51

@Indigogirl88 has he said why he’s so upset it’s a girl? What is he thinking it will be like?
I think it’s good you told him now, hope you’re ok x

Spark27 · 21/05/2020 13:59

@Indigogirl88, congratulations on your scan. And yay for team pink. I hope you're pleased about it. Sorry your partners been difficult. Do you know why he was so adamant he wanted a boy? Seems odd to me as theres nothing either of you can do to change it. I heard that it's the men who decide the gender anyway. All our eggs are female and it's the sperm that gives it either the deciding X or Y (that's the extent of my knowledge). But maybe dont tell him it was up to him anyway if hes in a bad mood Confused

I hope he gets over himself soon and apologises. Sending lots of love xx

BooMamaBear · 21/05/2020 14:00

Congrats on your girl @Indigogirl88 -can't believe his reaction he should glad that you're carrying his healthy baby!! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 21/05/2020 14:09

@FourPlasticRings oh it was dreadful. I used to layer muslins over us both and those big bibs but still had constant changes. I used to take so many outfits out with us 🙈

Glad all is well @Indigogirl88!

@Indigogirl88 my dh was the same the look on his face when I said team girl . He is now over it . I told him he should be happy and that we are blessed .

Men are so weird at times .
