@BntTowers

Yeah, a gust of wind into the bedroom woke both DD and I up and she won't go back to sleep. I am not amused.

Buzz22 · 22/05/2020 06:01

Windy here. Been awake since 5am! Nervous about the scan so wont be going back to sleep.
I did have my first nights sleep with my pregnancy pillow and it was amazing!

FourPlasticRings · 22/05/2020 06:07

@Buzz22 it is nerve-wracking. I kept telling myself that if there is a problem, all the scan does is tell us about it, and I'd much rather know than remain in the dark. If that makes sense?

Odds are, it'll be absolutely fine. What time are you going on?

Indigogirl88 · 22/05/2020 06:39

Hi everyone I hardly slept last night, i think baby was feeling my anxiety as well as i felt kicks and pops everytime I woke up. I was however glad for a cooler night Grin

Indigogirl88 · 22/05/2020 06:41

Good luck everyone with their scans today, it's so hard not having partners there I really wish mine could have been there yesterday, he would have seen the baby and I dont think any of the arguing would have happened. It's so nice to have the relief of knowing things are ok though Flowers

Buzz22 · 22/05/2020 06:56

Thank you everyone and good luck @Glitterbug86 @NWnature and @Quiffy

Spark27 · 22/05/2020 06:58

Good luck for all the scans today Flowers xx

Buzz22 · 22/05/2020 07:02

@FourPlasticRings thank you! My scan is at 9.30 so not too long to wait. I was ok till last night! The anxiety after last time kicked in. I keep telling myself the odds are in our favour but the odds were 99.4% in our favour last time and we were the 0.6% unfortunately. It's so silly as I saw the consultant the other week and all looked ok! Being pregnant is just a constant worry for us all isnt it?!

@Indigogirl88 I'm glad your husband seems to be coming round. I'm sure she'll be a daddy's girl before you know it! Like you said the important thing is everything is ok.
My DP is going to wait outside in the car. Probably be waiting forever as I'm having whooping cough vaccine after, and despite having early appointment they seem to keep you waiting forever.

Quiffy · 22/05/2020 08:13

I had a total panic attack that I'd got the wrong day for my scan haha had to check my scan letter. I'm next thursday - single digits now!

Good luck today @buzz22 @Glitterbug86 @NWnature. Excited for all the cute baby photos

Rubbish on storm keeping people awake. It's still warm and sunny here - gosh I miss winter. Naps for everyone!

DH was telling me this morning about one of the cats trying to wake me up last night and how he had to tell him "whatever you do don't wake her up" in a tone. I asked what he meant and apparently you should leave pregnant grizzly bears lie. Someone isn't getting dinner.

Zaalfruit · 22/05/2020 08:19

Good morning to all !!

Good luck to all the scans today . It’s so exciting the 20 week scan . Are we even now on girls and boys ? We should do a due date prediction as well .

Do you think at some point we will be allowed to take someone else in with us for a private scan - I really want dh to have one peek at baby .

This weather is so strange it’s raining now :/ the weekend is nearly here and it’s disappeared. Db left the window open for our room - the window sills are so wet .

Does anyone else getting throbbing pain like their stomach is pulsing?

Went to Asda with dh way past my bed time last night for leggings and nothing in my size - but saw the cutest little baby clothes. We saw little swimming outfits for girls ahh so cute !

Indigogirl88 · 22/05/2020 08:34

I'm popping to Asda today @zaalfruit and I will look for girlie bits! I've left dp in bed this morning because I cant face him yet.

Good luck everyone today!

I really hope that I can take dp to another scan before the birth, I think itll be important for bonding tbh and yes she will be his little princess Grin

Quiffy · 22/05/2020 08:47

I was wondering on scans, I see Preston are letting partners in for 20 week now but most arent. Window in the Womb have a post up about when other scans are going to open - think they said 4D scans should be back in July. I asked DH if he wanted to go but he doesnt want me to drive so we're waiting atm - I'm hoping our local one reopens.

I'm hoping we're allowed two birth partners or at least one birth partner in all the time by October.

LexiM · 22/05/2020 08:48

Morning all - good luck to those with scans today. Its always good when they book you in the early slots and you don’t have to wait.

I also had a bad nights sleep, struggled to get to sleep then at 1am someone was having their car taken off a recovery vehicle and it sounded like a drill. Based on the amount of lights on I think the whole street was awake. To make it more annoying they were talking really loud and I’m not even sure the person who’s car it was lives here. What exactly he was doing at gone midnight during this time not at his own house I’m not sure. Baby was then so wriggly I couldn’t settle, it’s the first day I’ve felt him/her move more than a few times. So it was kind of nice but I was grumpy! 😂

@Quiffy haha my husband would say the same about me and sleep. We are trialling shutting the cat downstairs at night in preparation for the baby and he’s gone from crying at the door to not at all in 4 days which is good. I must say I sleep so much better and he still loves us in the morning and is really affectionate!

NWnature · 22/05/2020 08:49

Oh gosh sorry @quiffy that was me starting rumours yours was today! I’m in the waiting room now, it’s so quiet. Have mask on which is making me feel so hot and bothered!

Treaclepie19 · 22/05/2020 09:19

Morning everyone 😊

Hope your scan goes well @NWnature!

Having a bad morning today. My OCD is spiralling a bit which is annoying. I'd got it quite controlled before conceiving and felt really positive but I guess all the worry and then lockdown on top has got to me.

Makes for a tense household.
Dh has booked today off to do some bits around the house so that's good. Still feels ages until 1st June for my scan!

Spark27 · 22/05/2020 09:40

@LexiM, I feel sorry for our cat. I've had him for 10+ yrs and he used to have have complete free reign. He was shut out of the nursery when we had DD. Now shes moved to the spare room hes shut out of that when shes sleeping, and I shut him out of ours at night time cos he just wants to be on me. Every time I move him he just gives me a look Sad

LexiM · 22/05/2020 10:43

@Treaclepie19 mine is 1st June and I can’t decide if it’s going quickly or slow! Sorry you aren’t feeling great today, hope it improves as the day progresses. Glad your DH is doing some jobs, always good 😄

@Spark27 we decided to do it now because first of all we weren’t getting much sleep as recently he just wants to sit and purr on us all night which is sweet but annoying and secondly we didn’t want him to feel shut out just because baby is here so thought we would do it early. He likes to stand with one paw on my bump and he’s heavy so it’s uncomfortable now! I find it funny how affectionate he is though after we’ve shut him out, my mums cats would be pissed off at that and ignore us!

Treacle81 · 22/05/2020 10:50

Morning girls! Good luck for all the scans, can’t wait to hear about them, gets me so excited!! Girls are 4 ahead so far!! It’s v windy and rainy here today, hoping that means quiet food shop later and M &S pick up 🙌🏻 I have defo ‘popped’ feel heavier xx

NWnature · 22/05/2020 10:55

I’ve been sent out for a walk for the second time because the baby is in an awkward position and just won’t move so they can’t check the heart. Been here since half 8! Stressing out. They also wouldn’t give me the jab in the first walking break as you have to have had a successful 20 wk scan according to the midwife. Gahhh doing star jumps in the hallway now. Really don’t want to have to come back and now really worried because baby was awkward to view at 12 week too and now this one!

FourPlasticRings · 22/05/2020 10:56

Do you think at some point we will be allowed to take someone else in with us for a private scan - I really want DH (darling husband) to have one peek at baby

Window to the womb is allowing partners in now, according to a thread a few days ago.

My poor cat has been relegated to the conservatory for years now. I got really paranoid when we first had DD about worms and allergies and stuff. She roams, kills and eats indiscriminately. And DH was never a huge fan anyway because she destroyed our sofas and we got expensive new ones last year. So now she sort of lives in there and just comes into the living room for a fuss in the evenings, though that'll probably stop too when the new baby arrives.

Quiffy · 22/05/2020 11:03

@LexiM Ahhh that's so good on kitty, we haven't started the shutting out yet but will need to start soon. As I just KNOW they'll get in the Snuzpod and if I use a net they'll just lie on top. Bams. That recovery vehicle is awful, no wonder you didnt sleep well.

@Spark27 Those kitty looks are killer. They know exactly how to make you feel guilty.

@Treaclepie19 Hope you're okay

otterbaby · 22/05/2020 11:12

@Spark27 I know exactly what you mean 😫 luckily I can just give ours a new box from one of my thousands of deliveries and he's happy again.

@NWnature mine was the same, the heart was the only thing they couldn't get a clear look at. Worst case, you go back in 2 weeks and get to have another look at baby!

NWnature · 22/05/2020 11:18

Got it! Wohoooo

Team yellow still.

Injection done too.

Hope everyone else’s went well today!

Also all the cat talk is making me laugh. I have a mega high maintenance Siamese who is going to have a serious shock to the system once this little one arrives.

Buzz22 · 22/05/2020 11:36

We are team pink! 💕
But she would not cooperate even after a 20 minute walk and sugary drink. They got half the measurements and all looked fine with them but I have to got back on the 2nd June for another scan so they can check everything else.
She is certainly a stubborn and very lanky girl!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the new group. Just catching up.

@HerondaleDucks those cakes looked amazing! Not sure I could bite off the baby's head though.

Congrats everyone on your scans. Lots of boys in this group! I have my 20 week scan tomorrow Grin. I really don't think window to the womb are very good (I had a scan there a couple of weeks ago) in terms of service and the quality of the images, so really looking forward to actually going into the hospital and making sure everything is well with baby. I think I've been feeling him moving about recently which is a huge relief!!
