Congratulations everyone on the scans, so exciting for you all.

@BntTowers sorry your dinner was rubbish, I’m still waiting for mine. My DH likes to eat late and therefore has no regard for times and how hungry I am. Totally with you on the burger front, wish I could get a pub burger and chips right now!

I personally wouldn’t say if you aren’t going back to work, wait until you know for sure when on maternity leave. I just think it gives the option should for any reason you need to change your mind.

@bluemoon2468 must feel so odd not to go back to work and see anyone then come back having had a baby. It’s the same for me as I will only see my one colleague between now and maternity. I’m working currently but likely to go back on furlough at some point. My boss saw my bump on zoom the other day and was like omg!

FourPlasticRings · 20/05/2020 21:17

Ha! Found you again. I was on part one under a different username. Hello again everyone! 👋

Scan was last week, team yellow this time so nothing to report other than a healthy little baby! It's all getting a bit real now. Due 1st October.

BntTowers · 20/05/2020 21:25

@LexiM I wouldn't tell work I am thinking about not going back, mainly to keep options open, but I hate working there so at the moment I'm thinking not.

Zaalfruit · 20/05/2020 22:58

It’s soooo hot - I feel like I’m going to go crazy . Dh is fast asleep in the sofa I feel like just going to bed alone and having it to myself and not fee how intense heat 😂🤣.

I fee like team boy and girl has evened the playing field now but we have wild cards of team yellow.

Does anyone know where I can get maternity leggings in stock - tried Asda and Tesco and asos :( j only want to get three hoping that lasts me till summer hits and then I can just breeze through with maxi dresses .

Is anyone taking a year off work?

HerondaleDucks · 20/05/2020 23:13

I just finished reading a chapter of the secret lives of bees to bump. He is punching me now, I assume that means he likes it.

I asked my DH to get me some maternity leggings for my birthday, so fingers crossed they are comfortable.
All my trousers fit, but are uncomfortable at the belly. I had only put 1kg on in the last month and a half, so I was pleased with that.

I think I would be happy with 9 months, I dont think we could afford longer. It's a shame but, that's how it is. I will go back to work flexibly. My manager is on board with this.

Hope you get a decent night's sleep @Zaalfruit

FourPlasticRings · 20/05/2020 23:18

I'll go for the full year (though more like 18 months if I don't have to go back to work because of COVID- not been in since March).

I've also gone full maxi dress already! Have one pair of maternity leggings from either Next or New Look- can never remember which- which have served me well.

Spark27 · 21/05/2020 03:23

I'm going for the year too (10 months Mat leave and 2 months annual leave), but this will probably end up more like 18 months with the virus meaning I'm unable to work now.

Been struggling to sleep for the last hour and have just given in and got the fan out. Bliss. DH is sleeping on the sofa due to the heat (and his snoring) so its solely on me.

Zaalfruit · 21/05/2020 05:05

It’s too hot - been awake now for ages . It doesn’t help that the birds have been singing since 3 am. Dh came in to bed and sweated out I made a barrier with the cushions to avoid his heat no luck .

I want to take 12 months off I think we will struggle financially but I waited so long for her and I don’t want to miss her first year - I know she won’t remember . I have been trying to save every penny to ensure that I have the 12 months off. With my work you only get paid full for the first 2 and half months then the govt then nothing so I will try to use all my next years holiday allowance but it will mean working over Christmas and just having Christmas and Boxing Day off .

I forgot about new look will check there for maternity leggings- Next delivery slots always seem to vanish before I even get a chance.

Indigogirl88 · 21/05/2020 07:11

Hi ladies, same for me last night was so hot I slept with no pregnancy pillows or duvet, how we going to cope in August haha! I'm going to buy a fan though

Scan this morning at 8.30...

I'm planning to take a year off but I'll only get SMP I'll be telling work later. But realistically if we can afford it I wont be going back to work but we've a lot to sort out in the meantime. I'd want to go back part time but not where I am now due to the commute.

bluemoon2468 · 21/05/2020 07:24

@Zaalfruit I'll technically be taking 9 months off, but I'm going back to work 4th July and then I get the 6 week school summer holidays off a few weeks later! So I won't really be going back until the start of September, giving me about 11 months with baby 😊

FourPlasticRings · 21/05/2020 07:46

Yeah, I'm doing the same @bluemoon2468. Are you going back in before may leave?

MrsD1990 · 21/05/2020 07:55

I'm doing 6 months, 9 if my husband is allowed to give me 3 months of his (still need to check with HR how it works) and then my husband will do 3 months so at least one of us is with the baby for his first year. Then we're both going to try to wfh on Fridays. Can't wait ♥️♥️

BooMamaBear · 21/05/2020 08:04

@Zaalfruit -I highly recommend Love Leggings -they're online I saw them recommended on another thread, they're not see through, really good quality and came in 3 days -you can pay by PayPal to.ooops!! They're so comfy!!
@Treacle81 -well done for keeping count so team pink are just ahead a few more scans to come!
@Spark27 -my DH has just had a wine delivery too -red wine tho- I would love one with dinner tonight coz except juice or water all alcohol free drinks are fizzy - but guess I'll stick to alcohol free pear cider or pineapple juice and lemonade or still water if I don't want fizzy!
Great news on the new scan results! Xx

BooMamaBear · 21/05/2020 08:05

Good luck for your scan @Indigogirl88 xx

Quiffy · 21/05/2020 08:10

@BecLJ congrats on scan!

@Indigogirl88 how you feeling today? Still sore? Good luck with your scan this morning

@HerondaleDucks congrats on your boy! Love the reveal

@EllieGolightly congrats on your girl!

@Treacle81 @DollyDaph10 I'm also due that day and think I'm having a boy!

@dollydaph10 I don't plan on going back to work atm. It's stressful and I just want to enjoy being a mum. It will be tight but we shall see!

@BntTowers That sounds like a perfect day! Until I read about dinner,, sounded like a very lazy way to cook. Definitely try to get a freezer!

@bluemoon2468 ahhh that sounds perfect! You might need to find a hobby or tasks to keep you sane

@FourPlasticRings congrats on scan!

Indigogirl88 · 21/05/2020 08:27

I'm feeling a lot better thank you @quiffy so hoping it was just a one off

Just waiting for the scan now

Zaalfruit · 21/05/2020 09:10

Good luck at your scan @Indigogirl88

Ahh so lucky @bluemoon2468 and @FourPlasticRings - time like this I wish was teaching my job is so stressful we never finish at 5.30 and My work place has said they won’t offer me part time we have three part time mummies already and it’s max capacity.

@MrsD1990 that sounds like a really good plan - my dh gets paid full paternity pay for 6 months apparently he negotiated 10 years ago . He was only 23 ,10 years ago - when I was 23 the only thing I was Thinking about how do stay awake at my shifts without looking wrecked from the night before . So even if I go back at 6 months dh could be at home with the baby.

@BooMamaBear deffo will check it out !! had one fizzy drink since being pregnant but all I want is a pina colada - and sweet cocktails drinks that you get on holiday and pear flavoured koppaberg

otterbaby · 21/05/2020 09:50

Seconding love leggings...been in them for basically a full month now and they're so soft!

Hope all goes well this morning @Indigogirl88. I have my rescan later this afternoon so getting a bit anxious for that!

Indigogirl88 · 21/05/2020 10:15

All good for the scan here ladies! I was massively relieved I cried... had to do a wee and move around quite a bit so they could check the heart and I was really impressed with how in depth the sonographer went.

I did find out the gender...however it's a bit of a sore subject at the moment. I'll write back later x

FourPlasticRings · 21/05/2020 10:18

Congratulations @Indigogirl88!

Quiffy · 21/05/2020 10:24

@Indigogirl88 congratulations

bluemoon2468 · 21/05/2020 10:38

@FourPlasticRings no, I'm not going back in now - I offered to, but my work have decided to furlough all clinically vulnerable staff until September, and for me until my mat leave starts. I've already been home since March, so I'm going to be off for pretty much 18 months in total which is just insane!

BooMamaBear · 21/05/2020 10:45

@Quiffy I mentioned love leggings and pear cider so sorry if I'm a bad influence!! But hey you're pregnant so you need alcohol free drinks and maternity clothes right?! Xx

BooMamaBear · 21/05/2020 10:46

Congratulations @Indigogirl88 xx

Treacle81 · 21/05/2020 10:49

Morning girls! Congrats @Indigogirl88 hope all ok ❤️ @otterbaby good luck! @Quiffy are you finding out sex? Im loving my new look mat leggings, so soft and comfy 🥰 partner and I were just discussing leave. Our work are saying we won’t be back until next year due to needing to space people out, no room!! He asked if I was given option to wfh would I. Think that would be great! See what happens xx
