@Quiffy thank you!! Just get so bloody anxious wondering if he's ok xx

MummyBearBoo · 12/06/2020 08:37

Welcome @ArielJ -I'll have to leave your question to the other ladies as I don't have an anterior placenta this time! Xx

BntTowers · 12/06/2020 08:52

@Quiffy they just don't get it do they? DH says that to me every weekend. I keep reminding him that there's a limited number of weekend lie ins that he has left.

@ArielJ welcome, sorry I can't help with your question. If the worry gets too much call the midwife team.

I'm waiting on a call from the nurse this morning to hopefully go and get my whooping cough vaccination today. We are also getting all the furniture we've ordered so far tomorrow so it will be a weekend of putting up furniture. I'm already mentally preparing myself for that. I can usually do it by myself (don't think I'll be able to with bump and potential dead arm from vaccination) and DH takes way too much time and overthinks everything, when all you need to do is follow the instructions.

BntTowers · 12/06/2020 10:23

Eugh work is so frustrating. I have run through some dates to go down to 4 days a week in the run up to my maternity. As a team we have two that work part time and are off on Mondays and Fridays, we have a weekly meeting on Wednesday so I have put in either Thursdays or Tuesday and now they are saying I might not be able to take them. I have only requested 8 of the 11 days holiday I have left and I have avoiding busy times of the month. Have to wait until Tuesday to find out what's happening. I don't think it's fair for them to dictate when I have days off when I've been considerate of everyone else's work times. Can't wait to leave that place. I really don't want to take chunks of time off I would rather do 4 days a week as I'm finding it really hard to focus.

Indigogirl88 · 12/06/2020 12:47

@Quiffy oh god it's one of them days with dp, I said to him earlier I was I quite a bit of pain it felt like strong period cramps, I think it was just a Braxton hicks but I felt really uncomfortable he could barely look up to see if I was alright, so I made a cuppa and he asked me if i was brewing well not impressed

Indigogirl88 · 12/06/2020 12:48

I'm really struggling with work as well @BntTowers not helped by poor sleep, I'm worried as still got a way to go. Only saving grace this weekend is bad weather so not feeling so sweaty
I love my life

BntTowers · 12/06/2020 13:07

@Indigogirl88 it just feels like it's one thing after the other. Doesn't make me want to be very productive. I know it sounds whiney, but working 5 days in a row is really burning me out at the moment. Especially as I'm still WFH and I'm hoping to carry on WFH until maternity leave.

Got my whooping cough booked in for this afternoon at 4.15, I didn't manage to get to the shops for some treats yesterday so I will do today.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 12/06/2020 13:38

Thanks for the car seat advice everyone! Seems too good to not take them.

@BntTowers also getting my whooping cough today! And work also becoming really tiring. I'm physically back at work now and on my feet most of the day and just so shattered every night. So glad it's the weekend. Xx

HerondaleDucks · 12/06/2020 13:45

Pleased to report that after the trauma of yesterday my bloods came back normal.
Phew

Spark27 · 12/06/2020 14:13

Yay, great news @Herondaleducks

Feeling very pregnant today. Round ligament pain, back ache, grumpy.....going to see if a nice hot (not too hot, urgh) bath helps

Treacle81 · 12/06/2020 14:35

Hi girls! Yesterday was a bad day for me, think not sleeping great all week got to me and was feeling v sore and heavy. Just could not be bothered! Today thankfully is better due to better sleep, feel more motivated- even put on some BB cream lol. I wasn’t going to bother with 4D scan but just seen one and I’ve changed my mind. Baby’s face was so clear and they could give weight- going to go for one at 34 weeks - 10 week countdown commences now!!! 😂 xx

LexiM · 12/06/2020 15:05

@Quiffy ah husbands can be so annoying at times and they think it’s so simple to “go back to sleep”. My husband can sleep anywhere and go back to sleep so easily, I am so jealous! I’m often awake in the hours before I have to wake up thanks to his noises too!

@BntTowers I hope your work give you those days holidays. I agree totally unfair when you’ve been as accommodating as possible for them.
Hope you don’t get too many side effects from the vaccination today, I don’t think mine was as bad after as I thought it would be.

@treacle81 glad you’re having a better day today. I can’t believe it’s 10 weeks til then, seems crazy. My husband said today he just wants to meet baby now and is done waiting since he’s seen him on the scan 😂😂

@HerondaleDucks glad it all came back clear!

So our pram has been delivered to My mums today. I was there earlier outside in the garden but resisted looking my husband and I agreed we would open it together. Plus my Grandma lives there and she helped pay for it so we want to open it in front of her. As we can’t go in the house we have to wait for a dry day and the weather report said earlier that tomorrow was going to be dry, now it’s saying rain all day - typical. I am impatient and want to see it!!!!

MummyBearBoo · 12/06/2020 15:57

Sorry for all struggling with work and annoying DP!s/DH's!
Good news @HerondaleDucks!
I'm struggling to sleep too with back pain and hip pain mainly even when I use a pillow to support my bump and have my pregnancy pillow I still wake up uncomfy a few times! Xx

otterbaby · 12/06/2020 16:53

Just want to conduct an informal poll here - how often do you have something sweet? Do you have dessert every night? And I'm not talking about fruit 😂 I have something sweet every night (some sweets or a bit of chocolate or something) and eat healthily otherwise - but I've just weighed myself and am in a state of shock!!

FourPlasticRings · 12/06/2020 17:02

@otterbaby see, this is why I don't weigh myself when pregnant (or at any other time tbh).

Umm, I probably have something once a day. Could be a Muller yoghurt, could be a hot cross bun or a few biscuits. I'm limited in options because DH does the shopping and doesn't have a sweet tooth- probably a good thing! I've got cake in at the moment though because it's been DD's birthday so I'm having much more than I usually do this week. Will try to be good next week.

MrsD1990 · 12/06/2020 17:35

@otterbaby I have something every day! I was a lot better before lockdown because we wouldn't buy it so I couldn't eat it but because we now online order we always get chocolate etc to have in because there's no option to pop to the shops (for us anyway, we haven't been to the shops since March) so I eat chocolate every single day!!

Spark27 · 12/06/2020 17:53

@otterbaby at least once a day. I hope for more than that. Pregnancy seems to give me a really sweet tooth. It did last time too. I want it all- cake, donuts, sweets, chocolate. Today I have already eaten one of the medium sized fruit&nut choc bars (I tried to save half, but I wanted it) and I'm already thinking about the Gu choc pots and mini rolls that are in the fridge. I might see if the mw can weigh me at my 28w appt cos my scales say I've only put 2kgs on, and I dont believe them (I did lose 2 at the beginning with morning sickness though). But I'm enjoying the excuse to eat all the yummy stuff

MummyBearBoo · 12/06/2020 17:58

At least once a day I don't usually have a sweet tooth but now I'll a chocolate bar or some haribos or if DH and DD have baked at the weekend a bit of what ever they've made blueberry muffins or rice crispie cake etc!!

Though today we haven't got any sweet stuff in so just strawberries and grapes today!! Xx

otterbaby · 12/06/2020 18:00

Thanks ladies, glad to hear it's not just me! Started out craving bread and thought it had changed to sweet stuff, but nope just crave both bread and sweet stuff now!

Treaclepie19 · 12/06/2020 18:34

Oh definitely! Waaaaay too much sweet stuff being consumed here.

Had my blood test today. Had to wear a mask and it was awful. I couldn't see with my glasses steamed up. Got our private scan Tuesday so hoping I can see then 😔

Been busy buying today! Got a good deal on the occaro pram bundle on very 😁 Im a bit addicted now to buying 🙈

BntTowers · 12/06/2020 19:24

I've been craving sweet stuff, going to do some baking at the weekend to try and satisfy DH may only be allowed one or two of the cookies.

@LexiM My arm has gone dead and I'm exhausted, but that may be down to me stressing about holidays.

I forgot that last night just after I had gone to bed the doorbell went DH ignored it, but it was pouring with rain and I saw it was one of our neighbours. She came to check that our orange cat is in because she had seen a fox chasing something orange and she just wanted to check it wasn't him! She was very sweet and loves our overly friendly cat. He had been in for ages, but was lovely of her to check. I think he is a little bit famous around our area.

Buzz22 · 12/06/2020 20:05

@otterbaby yes every day! I'm usually more of a salty person and addicted to crisps. But I have to have pudding now. Yesterday I had a whole bag of haribo and a whole box of Malteser truffles. I ate to the point my heartburn was agony.
This evening DP is ordering us waffles to be delivered and I cannot wait. I might even get a chocolatey milkshake too! I try to eat well the rest of the day but In the evenings it's all I want!
Havent weighed myself. No idea how much I weighed before pregnancy. Midwife did weigh me at booking appointment but I'd have to check notes. Dont think I've gained much other than little bump somehow, but have been keeping pretty active so maybe that balances the sweet cravings out?!

NWnature · 12/06/2020 20:07

@ArielJ me!!!! Welcome!! I’m due 10 October with an anterior placenta and not really feeling anything yet. My midwife said 24-28 weeks so just try not to worry. I saw them on Tuesday and they listened to the heartbeat so all seems ok. I totally get you though it’s mega nerve wracking and I’m dying for my husband to feel the baby from the outside.

And @otterbaby ABSOLUTELY I’m having an ice cream every night at the moment and usually a biscuit / choc bar in the day. Eeeeek. Just can’t help it! I’m trying to have extra healthy lunches to compensate , lots of cruditie like celery, carrot and cucumber and fresh berries.

@HerondaleDucks so pleased all was good with the bloods.

Buzz22 · 12/06/2020 20:07

Other thing I have been eating is cheese. Cheddar cheese. And I usually hate cheese! I had cheese on a jacket potato and it was so good. Also had cheese on toast yesterday. I'm wondering if it will stay after pregnancy or if I will go back to hating it?!

Spark27 · 12/06/2020 20:42

Now I want waffles and ice creams. Had some Magnums the other day, but I've eaten them all. Gutted
