Is this your first @AutumnBabyWinterMummy? Xx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 10/06/2020 18:56

@MummyBearBoo yes my first! Is it yours too? X

MummyBearBoo · 10/06/2020 19:06

No got a 4yo DD me and DH have evenings together again once DD is in bed but now I'm tired early and once new baby comes that'll be our evenings gone again! Definitely spend some time together before baby comes!! I am excited tho and looking forward to meeting her and so glad DD has been potty trained for a couple of years so I'll only have 1 lot of nappies to change!! Xxx

MrsD1990 · 10/06/2020 19:06

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and tips on maternity leave! Spoke to someone at work about it today as well and feeling better about it.

Pregnancy insomnia is awful! On days when I get chance to exercise and also go on a longer walk than usual I definitely sleep a lot better! Shame I don't have the time/energy to do that very often.

I wrote a longer message replying to everyone but somehow deleted it so I'll end this here!! Xxx

LexiM · 10/06/2020 19:11

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I do kind of know what you mean, the baby consumes my whole life and I think it’s more that way because there’s not much else to do at the moment. I feel like it’s all I have to talk about too. Part of me thinks it’s fine because it’s all new and of course life will change going forward, I expect it’s quite normal. But I know what you mean about not seeming boring and still having an element of you in your life 😂

Zaalfruit · 10/06/2020 21:26

Hey everyone - I still don’t feel that too may kicks and today it’s been less than usual . Not sure if I should be worried . I know kick counts are meant to be from 28 weeks - but I worry .

I feel like I have gone so boring all I think about is corna and baby - I worry about both hand in hand . ( and then I get dreams about dp leaving me - which wake me up)

Woke dp at 5 today and demanded he go for a walk with me to the local bakery they open at 5.30am . Brought more sugary treats than the allowance for the month.

MrsD1990 · 10/06/2020 22:05

@zaalfruit I had they issue the other day and when we rang the fetal unit they said to drink ice water and that should make baby move - it worked!! Worth a go - but ring your fetal unit if you're worried. Even though like you said it's early, sometimes it's good to hear from a professional!!

Zaalfruit · 10/06/2020 22:10

@MrsD1990 thank you - I feel like I felt some thing earlier - will try and drink iced water . So confusing - I wish I could be way more carefree .

Spark27 · 10/06/2020 22:20

@Zaalfruit I was a bit worried last night about lack of movement. Ended up getting out the ice cold lemonade and some sweets, and that got her wriggling again. I find lying on my side in bed, and lying partially on the side of my stomach gets me feeling more movement as well. Hope you've felt more, but if not ring the hosp. It's what they want you to do if you have any concerns xx

Treaclepie19 · 10/06/2020 22:35

I had a bad day of reduced movements at about 21 weeks and they asked me to go tk triage to check babys heartbeat so they will look after you.

Cold water and a lie down first. Hope all is okay. They say here that before 24 weeks it's not such a problem but to be aware of babys movements and call still if you're ever worried.

MummyBearBoo · 10/06/2020 22:41

Yeah I get a cold can of Fanta and a marshmallow Kellogg's square which usually gets her moving but unlike my last DD she's pretty responsive if I press lightly on my tummy she usually kicks and if I put my hand in the place where she kicks she'll carry on kicking for a bit! My DD used to move whee she kicked everytime! Xx

Zaalfruit · 11/06/2020 06:50

Hey everyone- Thank you .
I tried the cold drink trick it wasn’t working - called Fetal unit . Ended up going in - hours later I’m back now . She’s is moved into an really awkward position and it might be a combination of how I sit during work and sleep . I can’t sleep on my left side I revert back to right or my back. They have told me I need to take regular breaks during work and get a pillow or something that forces me to stay on my left During sleeping . Just hoping I feel her more today . Heard the heart beat yesterday which was a relief .
The midwife was not happy that I had waited all day to call - she said in doubt always call up .( I just assumed at 24 weeks it’s fine and 28 weeks is more of a concern )

How is everyone ? I can’t believe I have work in less than 2 hours if I called in sick I would just stress over life all day .

Me and dh have decided we need to get battery packs for our phones always ready incase we need to go hospital. Yesterday my battery was at 40 percent and his maybe even less . Charged and ready and left in the car with a few bottles of water .

Felt sad for a lot of the woman in labour yesterday - birthing partners arent allowed in till active labour . Must be so lonely - I could see all the sad faces of the birthing partners pacing around. Hoping by October this changes I couldn’t do it without dh hand holding me esp since I’m scared of needles and blood .

Spark27 · 11/06/2020 07:26

@Zaalfruit, pleased you went in and everything was ok. And that the people there were lovely to you. It is difficult though, deciding whether to go in or not, I found that last time. Hopefully little miss starts poking a lot soon.

When I went in to be induced last time you were allowed visitors on the maternity ward during the day, but not at night. As I wasnt in full labour I spent an uncomfortable night in there on my own. It must be sad to not be able to have partners around in the day, but I am trying to look at the positives that it might be easier/quieter to nap, and I've heard people are more likely to have their curtains back and to talk.

I'm concerned about not having DH there afterwards when you move back to the maternity ward as its difficult to move around for a while. But I just hope the mw's are even more attentive.

But I am really hoping its changed by then. Even if it's one person throughout and no other visitors xx

Quiffy · 11/06/2020 07:28

@Spark27 hope you’re feeling a bit better today ❤️

@CharlieBalf yes! The anxiety is real. I freaked myself out yesterday that I wouldn’t feel movement (wasn’t even that I hadn’t, but I wouldn’t #crazy). He is kicking away happily.

@otterbaby trolley looks great!

@zaalfruit glad everything was okay! You definitely did the right thing going. I’m hoping the birthing partner changes by October too 😩

My local scanning place has announced it’s opening 1st July so will be able to book and take dh.

Indigogirl88 · 11/06/2020 07:34

Hi ladies

@Zaalfruit glad you got checked over and everything is ok. It must be so worrying at the moment for mums giving birth, I really really hope it's over by October, I will only have my partner as my family live quite far away so I need his support more than ever.

I agree though @AutumnBabyWinterMummy I keep thinking of the baby, it's all we have to think about at the minute. I've said to dp I'd like a weekend away or something before baby comes if possible to have a bit of us time

I keep waking up on my back as well because on my side I keep getting a dead arm and I'm getting worried. I've felt movement but I think I'll mention it to the midwife next week and see what she says, no idea yet whether itll be face to face or not

Zaalfruit · 11/06/2020 07:39

Ahh @Spark27 I hope you are feeling better ! ( Sorry forgot time add it before - just so shattered ) I am really hoping it changes too - at least one person with you during labour not just active labour . I just felt so bad for the women and partners .

@quiffy that’s great news deffo book something in - I want to do the same . Dh feels like he hasn’t seen her in a scan and wants the reassurance . Are you going to go for a 3D/4d scan - or just a reassurance scan? I can’t decided what I want to do . Some are so expensive as well !

The anxiety for not feeling baby is real - feels like at every step there is a fear huddle. Can we all be in September please where we are prepping for birth . Just need to fast forward the anxiety bit.

Quiffy · 11/06/2020 07:59

@Zaalfruit I think I’m going for the 4D, I’ve always thought they were a bit creepy, but I’m thinking it’s another ‘first’ we can experience together as I’ve not seen baby in 4D either. Luckily our local is £60 for this, which feels a lot but is a lot less than others. DH didn’t seem too excited but I think he’s still protecting himself after the last private scan we had got cancelled and he won’t believe it until he’s there seeing him.

Mamaof5princesses · 11/06/2020 08:17

Hello lovely ladies...

Is anyone anxcious about finding out the gender. Or feel pressure from friends and family??
Currently 22.5 weeks due 5th oct 2020.. i have 4 girls and everyone is expecting a boy and its stressing me... Both hunny and i dont mind boy or girl.. but the pressure i feel is crazy.

We had our scan and the doc left the femur measurement pic which doesnt show focus on the potty shot but i can see some faint lines which is making me even more crazy what we might be having... Im almost just settling that its another precious princess but feel i dont want to share my joy as people always asking me if i want a boy 😢🥴🙄 xxx

LostinAusten2 · 11/06/2020 08:36

Hey @Zaalfruit - glad you got the reassurance from going in yesterday but so sorry that’s a stressful night of it, sending a hug for work today.

And that’s a really good shout re the scans above, my DH isn’t pushing for one but have a feeling he might find a 4D one quite exciting.

Quiffy · 11/06/2020 08:36

@mamaof5princesses I’m also due 5th Oct! Not had the gender pressure, but sounds really anxiety causing for you. Could you leave the sex as a surprise? That way you won’t have any (or as much) unwanted comments? It’s so hard :( sorry I don’t have better advice

MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2020 09:13

Glad it's all right @Zaalfruit -must have been having a quiet day!

My consultant said she'll let me have a 4d pic when I have my 26w scan 3 weeks on Tuesday!

My little one has been kicking me loads on both sides this morning and i could see her kicks think she's tired herself out tho as she's stopped now! X

Mamaof5princesses · 11/06/2020 09:45

Aww bless you thank you for your response xx yes we are currently team green and really exciting to have a suprise.. But might go for a gender reveal a month before if the temptation gets too much 😂😂🙏🌈🥰 xxx

BntTowers · 11/06/2020 10:31

@Zaalfruit I'm glad you got sorted, take a sick say, it's not going make any difference really and you won't be very productive anyway.

I'm mostly still just feeling little wiggly movements instead of kicks as such, on an evening I'll get a few kicks. I think at lunch I'm going to walk to the shop to get a supply of sweet things and fizzy drinks to get baby to wake up. The most movement I've had is after eating a crunchie.

Since DH has decided he wants to do a private scan he is obsessing over the 4d ones, just waiting for them to open up near us.

A few of the independent shops are opening up near us and doing individual appointments. We've got booked in for a week on Saturday to look at prams. I don't think they stock the one we want but will be good to go. There is another store about an hour away which does, but they are only opening during the week so will have to book a day off to get there.

HerondaleDucks · 11/06/2020 12:05

@Zaalfruit glad you went and got it checked!

I had the GTT today and it was bloody traumatic. The first blood I got stabbed 3 times before they could get any blood and it took two people. Then after waiting the 2 hours and half falling asleep in the waiting room I got called in for the 2nd bloods.
They tried to get blood from the same place but the vein collapsed. So they ended up taking it from the back of my hand but it still took ages for the blood to come out.
I then fainted, got really dizzy and sick. So I had to sit down for 30 mins and eat some fruit. Got to my car and sat for another 20 mins before I felt safe enough to drive.
Now have a huge headache and have crawled into bed. My whole arm is aching and my hand is super sore.
Now I have to hold my breath that I don't get a call in the morning telling me I'm diabetic.
I'm so fecking worried about it.
😔

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 11/06/2020 12:41

@MummyBearBoo oh that's good! 3 lots of nappies would be hard!!

@Zaalfruit glad you got seen and felt more reassured

@HerondaleDucks oh that's sounds horrible, my worst nightmare poor you. I always feel faint after every time they take blood but sounds very awful what's happened to you. Take it easy for the rest of the day xx
