Hi all. I wasn't wanted to hijack any threads on hear with specific questions, but wondered if anyone fancied a chat thread for us classed as mature mums to be? Anyone who feels they fit in that box are welcome to join.

I will start. 🌞

I am 41. I have a 10 year old ds and one mmc 3 yrs ago. New partner is reason for the gap.

I was very shocked when I found out as we had assumed that ship had sailed as no joy since mmc. Head was in that camp and was quite a shock to come out of it.

I am 13 weeks based on my scan later Friday. Awaiting NIPT results hopefully today or tomorrow. Been cautious after mmc but hard to not get so attached as the weeks go by.

My first purchase if all ok will be a pregnancy pillow.

Honestly I feel massive already. I am very overweight but was with ds and had a perfect fuss free pregnancy. This time I am so 🤢 and tired and feel just ill from 4pm onwards.

Instead of it easing up, last night I was still feeling 🤢 trying to sleep and was very uncomfortable due to feeling like my womb is massive.

Anyone else feeling like this? Goodness knows how I will be weeks from now. Eeek.

@Frazzle @Sheera1 @onlyreadingneverposting8
Another 40th birthday went uncelebrated here in December due to MMC at 20 weeks just a few weeks before my birthday.
We've all had a tough time haven't we.

Realladymarmalade · 16/06/2020 11:21

Hello all...not sure how to copy post and add my details - can only seem to quote it !

I am 42 and this is dc3. 30 weeks.

I hope you are all well, I will need to catch up properly . I'm having a week of AL so going to actually teach my kids and also renovate the bedroom.

I'm doing ok but the sickness and heartburn is back and v tired . DP everything is annoying me again , am sensitive to smell and i cant stand his smell of smoke again !

I'll pass more specific comments to people once I've read the thread.

Realladymarmalade · 16/06/2020 11:30

Only reading...9th child -thats amazing ! Sorry for your other losses.. my existing children are also of greek/Irish descent...we looked at Greek names but went with Irish for my daughter. I do love Greek names . ..out of the question for this one as different dad!

liese thinking of you.

I'm sorry so many of you have had difficulties and mcs . Love the term warrior baby.

My bump is not that big at 30 weeks. So everyone (the 3 people i see !) Keep telling me ! This little boy is on the 90th centile though. I am all baby and no water once again ....

stairgates · 16/06/2020 11:30

Liese, sorry to hear your news :( Ive found that when my head confirms that baby isnt progressing then I have miscarried naturally from then, its as if we are holding on to them until we are told to let them go xx

stairgates · 16/06/2020 11:32

Onlyreading whats your gender split Grin We were hoping that this little one would balance the blues and pinks but instead he has put the blues more into the lead Grin

Sheera1 · 16/06/2020 11:45

Liese thinking of you and virtual hand holding. ❤

Onlyreading I think you me, Frazz, counting and footprints are some kind of preggo quads. LOVING the bump pics. I have a lot of flab to add but think my bump is about the same. The same high up sticking out bit. It is funny that bit isn't the actual baby (at least I think that is correct). Think it is still under our belly buttons. Will go see if I can get a decent bump pic.

@Countingblessings I am so annoyed for you. Why the hell did they not get you back in the next week so they could do the full screening? I would be so fizzing. I wish my NIPT had given a result. My NT screening was low but I am not filled with confidence. Might see after my 20 week scan (which is actually 21 weeks as all my appointments seem to run a week late which worries me about issues like you are having). I might then retry the NIPT as more likely to get a result. If all seems fine at 20 week scan I will prob just cross fingers.

Hello to everyone else who has posted above too. Xxx

Stairgates is that your 12th?
Blues are in the lead here now , order is ds, dd and ds

Clarkel1 · 16/06/2020 11:47

@Liese27 sorry to hear what your going through I have bleeding at 6+3 and then again at 8+4 and both times they scanned and heartbeat there I have had some spotting since also and the cramping just won't go, I have my 10 week app this Thursday I'll be 10+3 I wish they would even let me know all is ok but I doubt at this stage they could even listen in with a Doppler but it's probably too early and failing that I'll need to wait till dating scan in 3 weeks! It's a constant worry, I hope that it turns out well, are the hospital going to see you at all anytime soon? Sending big hugs x

Frazzlerock · 16/06/2020 12:08

Oh @footprintsintheslow that is so awful. I can't imagine getting so far for that to happen. Do you mind me asking if they found a reason? And did you have scans beforehand that were fine? I'm so sorry you had to go through that Sad And you don't have to answer my nosy questions if you don't want to.

Are there a few of you with big families then? It must be amazing, but I cannot imagine ever having enough money, space or patience for more than 3! Even 3 is scaring the life out of us Grin and DP earns relatively well (and me not too bad) but we are stressing about affording 3 Shock I guess you just make it work right? Use your imagination to arrange the house and maybe not have as many pets as us! Grin

Sheera1 · 16/06/2020 12:13

Eeek. Here is bump pic. My bump is now nicely balancing out my ass!

I keep losing track of my due date but think I am 17 weeks + 4/5?

I couldn't get the angle right for ages. I almost uploaded one with ds in a blur messing about on the bed while I did this completely clueless that I am expecting. He is your typical male that everything sails over his head till he is told. Wouldn't stop to wonder what I was doing lol.

Frazzlerock · 16/06/2020 12:24

Ah yes that is a definite bump you have there @sheera1! I think we are pretty similar and I think that top bit we have is all our organs being shoved up by the baby.

fool11 · 16/06/2020 12:29

Ladies, your bumps are tiny, in a good way, nice and neat. At 28w my bump was bigger than 39w with my first, now at 34w (tomorrow) i feel huge. I've only put on 6kg but the belly is just in front of me. I also didn't celebrate my 40th ..seems like ages ago..and didn't have a party for my 45th last year as was in the middle of the ivf and was expecting a 'bad' news..we were very lucky at the end..

We also did the harmony test , my NHS results were high, mainly due to my age, in my opinion harmony test is worth every penny, although not 100%. I think CVS will give you 100% results, more accurate, but harmony is non invasive..

@Liese27 I'm sorry you're going through this, I had a MMC 2y ago and only found out during my 10w scan..thinking of you.

I think girls names are easier, we are struggling with the name for a little boy..

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 16/06/2020 13:16

@Sheera1 you're 17+4! 4 days ahead of me and I'm 17 today!

To those who've asked our split is 5 ds to 3 dd currently and baby is a girl. Eldest is 19 today!! Not sure how that happened! Number 2 will be 18 in Aug. And then we run 16, 13 (nearly 14), 10, 8, 6 & 3.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 16/06/2020 13:18

@fool11 6kg - how have you managed that! I've put on more than that already! Although I was underweight so I only weigh 1kg more than I've started out with most of the babies.

fool11 · 16/06/2020 13:39

My belly is honestly big, i'm usually size 12, kind of saggy 12 after my first, as haven't done any exercise for the past 5 years..i've only put on around 6kg with my first, but then i was barely eating with her, as i was feeling constantly sick, with this one, quite opposite, been eating like a horse..constantly eating and having too many chocolates, treats , cakes which i know i shouldn't, but can't help it..and usually so tired the sweet stuff give me some energy (just an excuse, to be honest to have some)..

Sheera1 · 16/06/2020 15:36

Ta all. Lol @Frazzlerock yes I think it is our organs. Such a beautiful time lol. My DP keeps patting that bit and I don't correct him as he is a bit of a wimp.

I have put on 5 pounds so far which I think is not too bad. It is mainly ice cream lollies I think though.

Ta @onlyreadingneverposting8 I can never keep track. I have about 3 dates fro my LMP, Private and NHS scan so not really sure tee hee. In my head I use my LMP which is 18weeks on Thursday but scans track me a couple of days behind.

Sheera1 · 16/06/2020 15:37

@fool11 can I ask what your harmony result was? You should post us your bump but no worries if self conscious. Took me a whole to get one that didn't look awful lol. X

People are mentioning name lists. Anyone care to share their favs?

I am going to have a ridiculous double barrelled surname once married as DP is adding in his step dad's surname too. So baby will be registered with his. Both are nice names though but rules out a lot of names and anything with one syllable.

I like Ethan, Nathaniel, Harrison (never getting that one passed dp) and Aleksander. Girls are Katelyn, Alexandra (sensing a theme) arrggh I had others and have lost my list.

Frazzlerock · 16/06/2020 16:14

I love Ivy @sheera1! I also like Nathaniel (Nate) and Ethan. I used to look after a gorgeous little boy called Ethan.

my list is pretty long as I've been compiling it for 4 years Grin

But I will share below. I've only shared these with one other person but I will share here Grin. I'll do it off my phone so I can c&p from my notes app as I'm on my laptop right now....
