Hi all. I wasn't wanted to hijack any threads on hear with specific questions, but wondered if anyone fancied a chat thread for us classed as mature mums to be? Anyone who feels they fit in that box are welcome to join.

I will start. 🌞

I am 41. I have a 10 year old ds and one mmc 3 yrs ago. New partner is reason for the gap.

I was very shocked when I found out as we had assumed that ship had sailed as no joy since mmc. Head was in that camp and was quite a shock to come out of it.

I am 13 weeks based on my scan later Friday. Awaiting NIPT results hopefully today or tomorrow. Been cautious after mmc but hard to not get so attached as the weeks go by.

My first purchase if all ok will be a pregnancy pillow.

Honestly I feel massive already. I am very overweight but was with ds and had a perfect fuss free pregnancy. This time I am so 🤢 and tired and feel just ill from 4pm onwards.

Instead of it easing up, last night I was still feeling 🤢 trying to sleep and was very uncomfortable due to feeling like my womb is massive.

Anyone else feeling like this? Goodness knows how I will be weeks from now. Eeek.

@AliasGrape It's refreshing to hear you had all the niggles and doubts and worries in the first few weeks, and you're still powering through! I have exactly the same thoughts so its good to know that is normal. I think, like you, I won't settle until the 20 weeks scan.
I'm sorry you're feeling generally rubbish. Just imagine cuddling your little one really soon! Just try and rest as much as you can because soon you won't be able to Grin

Hi @Countingblessings welcome to the group. Also hello to any other new people I've missed. It's impossible to keep up Grin

@Sheera1 when is your scan lovely? I can't remember if you specified a time.

Frazzlerock · 04/06/2020 12:54

Ah crossed posts @Sheera1! Glad all is well with baby! I really hope you get your result this time x

Sheera1 · 04/06/2020 12:56

Oh meant to add my placenta is currently anterior (at the front). Doesn't really matter as we are c section anyway. It is weird I am feeling movement if it is in the way but the bumps are coming from right over near my left hip not the front.

Great update @Sheera1 🤞🏼 it's third time lucky. Baby is growing well and bang on dates - I'd take some reassurance from that! Xx

Currently sat waiting at the hospital pharmacy for my clexane....oh yay...think I might put off my first injection until the morning! 🤣

PregnantPorcupine · 04/06/2020 20:58

Thanks @onlyreadingneverposting8 and @Frazzlerock. It's good to know it's normal, although it seems there are no miracle cures which is a shame 🙃

@AliasGrape ah! So we're due at the same time Smile. Really sorry to hear about your DH's Gran and your appointment being put back and the house stuff on top of everything.. It's a stressful enough time as it is without all the additional problems..

Congratulations @Countingblessings and welcome to the thread!

PregnantPorcupine · 04/06/2020 21:02

@Sheera1 great that your DH got to come to the scan and🤞that you get your results this time!

Frazzlerock · 05/06/2020 15:08

Hey all. I hope you're all having a good day.

We've got our scan at 4:30 and I've been anxious all day and clock watching!

I thought I might have felt baby move last night but I wasn't sure if I was just digesting the beans on toast I had eaten... It felt like little pokes just under my belly button. I wasn't sure if that is too high for 15 weeks? I've not felt anything since.

PregnantPorcupine · 05/06/2020 15:14

Good luck @Frazzlerock! Let us know how it goes.

My early movements were all very low down but they have loads of room to move around at that stage so who knows 🤷‍♀

fool11 · 05/06/2020 15:26

Hi, hope i can join you..i'm 45, had a mmc 2y ago, have a 5y DD and currently 32w preg, ivf baby. Nice to see this thread..i'm finding this last trimester really hard, constantly knackered, can barely sleep, everything hurts, esp.hips, keep turning and tossing all night, have a bad heartburn, headaches and soo tired..still working full time , from home, morning till evening . Had my 32w scan yest, have to go back in 2w time as there was a big drop in baby's growth in last 4w..have a really unpleasant consultant, who doesn't say much so it's not nice experience to go for a check ups. Best of luck everyone with your pregnancies.

footprintsintheslow · 05/06/2020 15:48

Hi @fool11 welcome along. My consultant is awful too so I understand that feeling.

Frazzlerock · 05/06/2020 17:51

Just got home and baby is perfect. Everything on or around the 50th centile. Bleed still there but higher up. Placenta fairly low but she wasn't concerned at this stage.
Now I know why it was so pricey, the detail she went into was incredible and we have 20 physical photos and a link to download videos and all the pics.
SO RELIEVED! (Until next time)

PregnantPorcupine · 05/06/2020 17:53

Just brilliant! @Frazzlerock ❤️ So remind me - how many weeks and days are you? @Sheera1 is 4 days in front of me and I'm 15 +3 today.

@onlyreadingneverposting8 I'm 15+1 today. I love the nose too 😝

@sheera1 You think girl? Really? Yup I deffo think boy. A girl would be a nice change to my house of males though

fool11 · 05/06/2020 18:45

Very cute picture @Frazzlerock..may I ask where did you have your scan? I had my private scans at the fatal med center In London but we don’t live in London and don’t want to go all the way there again (although they are brilliant, I had my harmony tests there too ). I had my growth scan 32w yest at my hospital with my grumpy consultant, didn’t even get to see the baby, made me so nervous as kept remeasuring without saying anything I almost had a panic attack that something‘s gone wrong, have to go back in 2w time as baby’s growth dropped rapidly since my 28w scan. Would like to book a private scan somewhere so my husband can see him too..

fool11 · 05/06/2020 18:46

I also think it’s a girl @Frazzlerock 🙂

Frazzlerock · 05/06/2020 18:47

@fool11 it was in Oxted in Surrey. Your experience sounds awful!

Crispaddict99 · 05/06/2020 18:47

Oh my @Frazzlerock your wee bubba is so cute! What a lovely scan pic 🥰 You must be so relieved xx

fool11 · 05/06/2020 18:49

Was it by any chance Sally? Believe or not I emailed her this morning re scan..I think it’s in oxted..must be same person..

Frazzlerock · 05/06/2020 19:57

DaisyChainsForever · 05/06/2020 20:03
