@Bumble84 maybe a few more than 16 if I'm honest 🤣
Omg that's hilarious! She probably appreciated your honesty!

If anyone's interested I got this jumper for only £8 from ASOS, it says "Christmas delivery" I plan on wearing it in the picture we'll send to people we aren't telling in person

@Benilyn @ElectricTonight I am using the Palmer's stuff too (as it's cheap) but also read that taking VitD and staying hydrated is important - which is is anyway... I got really bad stretch marks on my thighs and bum when I was a teenager so I am terrified of them!!!

calipoppy · 29/05/2020 19:54

Is anyone else just feeling SO fed up of morning sickness now? I'm almost 12 weeks and really thought it would be nearly gone by now but I'm still wretching all through the day and now it doesn't even seem to be triggered by anything it just comes from nowhere! 😫 keep googling when it will go but the answers never sound soon enough!!

djmbaker · 29/05/2020 20:30

@calipoppy don't say that to me 😭 I'm 10 weeks on Sunday and i am so nauseous every day it's horrendous. Plus I then have random days where I'm sick 4 times! I am hoping to feel like a new woman come 12 weeks 😂 I have read it can ease from 14 weeks?? Maybe it's just round the corner for you 🙏🏻🙏🏻

calipoppy · 29/05/2020 21:21

@djmbaker I really hope it'll be done by 14 weeks! 🙏 even that feels so far doesn't it! I actually can't remember what it feels like to be normal anymore haha.

djmbaker · 29/05/2020 21:48

@calipoppy 💯... I can't believe how poorly I feel?? It's still shocking me. You'd think we would be used too it now but every day I go "wow I can't believe I feel so bad"
I've had a bad day today though so maybe I'm just feeling sorry for myself. But this does feel like the longest 9 weeks of my life 😂😂
How are you besides sickness? Have you got any other weird and wonderful symptoms? Xx

calipoppy · 30/05/2020 06:49

@djmbaker I know! I always imagined that it would feel 'natural' since everyone gets it but nope I just feel straight up ill!
Other than sickness I've had 2 absolutely horrendous migraines that lasted 3 days each, and I've realised that being in the sun is what triggers them... I was already fair skinned and sensitive to the sun but now I seem to pretty much get sunstroke from 45 minutes in the sun even with sun cream! So this will be a fun summer hah. How about you?
Also feel really conscious that I don't want to sound ungrateful, like you I had a miscarriage (mine was actually very recently, the month before we conceived) and we'd been trying several months before that. So I'm so so thankful that this pregnancy is going well so far! It just doesn't stop me feeling fed up 😂

Katbaby · 30/05/2020 09:07

Morning girls, Im thinking that maybe the sickness is starting to settle down.. I'm throwing up stomach bile on a morning but then I only start to get sick in the day if I get hungry, then I feel sick late in an evening but I'm not actually sick.

Fingers crossed stays manageable!

How's everyone doing? @djmbaker @calipoppy I'm sorry to hear that you two are suffering so bad.

Managed bbq food last night and was absolutely delicious!!

Also why does it feel like such a long wait to 16th June 😳😳😳😳

I have random days where I am not sick but keep heaving 🤢 then I worry something is wrong and it will be bad news on Monday! Can not believe the anxiety I have over the scan! Hoping everyone has a better day today

djmbaker · 30/05/2020 10:05

@calipoppy that's so weird as I'm really fair skinned too and I've burnt like something crazy recently.. and to be honest even though I'm fair skinned we always laugh how the sun just seems to avoid me!! But now I can feel it on my skin.. really odd?? I have found my skin is more sensitive though?? The skin on my tummy has been so sensitive I've struggled to have anyone touch it.. not sure if that's weird?? I also 💯 understand what you mean, it's a weird feeling isn't it?? My midwife and doc keep saying to me how amazing it is that I feel so bad as I didn't feel anything last time 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ive still not had my 12 week scan appointment through, my booking in appointment was 2 weeks ago now!

I'm booking a private scan for 11 weeks anyway just to be on the safe side.

So glad your feeling more human @Katbaby that's got to be a huge relief for you!! My nausea gets worse at nighttime.. it definitely has a lot to do with being hungry as well I think.

Jasminex1 · 30/05/2020 10:38

I'm definitely feeling the sickness too! On the bright side, I've just booked a scan with WTTW next Sunday 😁 I'll be 11+6 and it's only a few days before my nhs scan, but as it's still unlikely that dp can come I want us to experience it together beforehand!

Tink679 · 30/05/2020 11:22

@Katbaby 16th June is my 12wk scan date too! It seems like forever away!

So we have decided to tell the children on Tuesday, we will be 11 weeks according to WTTW measurements! I’m so excited and nervous, my OH has created a quiz which will reveal the news so it will make it a fun way to find out. I just hope they take it well! Anyone thinking of having a private gender scan? I’m convinced it’s a girl and my OH is adamant it’s a boy! I want to know even if it’s just to settle the argument 🤣

calipoppy · 30/05/2020 12:44

@djmbaker no way! So glad I'm not the only one as I'd been googling but there's not much to say it's a thing at all! 😂

@Katbaby so glad you're starting to come out the other side! Hopefully in a few more weeks this will be a distant memory for all of us and we can just focus on enjoying our pregnancies for a bit 😊

djmbaker · 30/05/2020 14:52

@Tink679 ohhh that's so lovely!!! I am sure it will go well and they will be excited for you 🥰

We are going to have a private gender scan, I'm a little obsessed with having private scans to be honest so I thought why not!

Katbaby · 30/05/2020 15:09

@djmbaker they do say that pregnancy makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight, and I'm normally a sun worshipper I go a lovely brown colour but I keep sitting in the shade as I get worried.

@Tink679 enjoy telling the kids, they will be so excited 😊 we can handhold on the 16th together!

@calipoppy yes I can't wait for the days where its not a secret and Im not as sick and can just enjoy the times!

We've pretty much decided we aren't going to find out the gender and have the surprise at birth! See if my resolve is still as strong by the 20 week scan haha...

Tink679 · 31/05/2020 12:04

Thanks ladies! I hope so!

@Katbaby I just wish it would hurry, handholding needed, I’m excited and a little nervous! Also wish I had your patience, I would love to have the surprise but the not knowing would drive me crazy, it’s just who I am! 🤣

@djmbaker I’m with you on the scans although OH won’t let me book anymore yet, I may get away with a private 16wk gender scan but we will be getting monthly growth scans from 24 weeks so he says it’s a waste of money! Party pooper!

Finally ordered some maternity clothes, I feel like I’m busting out of mine from everywhere already! I’m not sure if it’s the bloating, the new bump or a combination of both but wearing jeans kills me!

My skin has been super sensitive even with factor 50 I’ve manage to burn (1 hour in the sun!) I’m now like Count Dracula covered up and hiding in the shade! 😂 also can’t stand BBQ food, red meats to be precise, beef burgers, steak, I’m genuinely gutted!

ceebee21 · 31/05/2020 13:25

@Tink679 I'm with you on the bbq food. OH just suggested a bbq and I just cant stand the thought of it...so strange.

I caved and booked a last minute scan yesterday...was so good to see baby wriggling around in there. Roll on 12 week scan on the 15th

I have just discovered that chewy strawberry sweets get rid of my nausea and I'm the happiest I've been in weeks 😂 I don't know if it will work for anyone else but thought I'd share just in case 🤞 not sure why they work but I'm so happy! Haha

djmbaker · 31/05/2020 15:16

@ceebee21 oh bless you!! How many weeks are you? It's amazing how much calmer you feel after a scan isn't it. I'm going to book one for next weekend hopefully.. just waiting on my midwife tomorrow to tell me my 12 week scan date.

@calipoppy my sister said fizzy haribo was the only thing that relieved her sickness?? So there must be something about sweets!! I'm still struggling with fluids.. currently only thing I can drink that doesn't make me feel horrendous is lemonade!! I am going through it by the bucket load 😂

ceebee21 · 31/05/2020 16:06

@djmbaker measured 9 weeks 5 days yesterday. It is so reassuring! I am going to book another one around 12 weeks to take DH...such a shame they cant come to NHS ones! But always nice to see baby. Are you signed up to maternity notes? That's how I saw when my scan was, before getting a letter x

ck2020 · 31/05/2020 16:50

Hi all, I have new to this app and thread. I am 11 + 3 days pregnant. I had a missed miscarriage in Dec last year which was discovered at week 12 scan.
I am soo anxious and scared about going for my scan next week, I can't stop crying. To make matters worse, I have been having brown discharge in the morning for the past 3 days.

Is brown discharge normal ? Please help!

Christmas babies thread 3!
Bumble84 · 31/05/2020 17:20

@ck2020 it’s understandable that you are scared. Bleeding or coloured discharge isn’t necessarily a sign that something is wrong, one of the girls on this thread had bleeding and everything was fine. Try to relax, I know it’s almost impossible! You have your scan next week and they will be able to talk to you about what’s going on x

Natt99 · 31/05/2020 19:31

@ck2020 sorry you're going through this. I've had this a few times, mines been a bit different and lighter in colour than yours though.I'm nearly 11 weeks. I was really scared but had a private scan and everything was fine. They said it can be normal up to 15 weeks! They said it's old blood cleaning out.
I know it's so worrying though. I would definitely give your EPU you a call and see what they say as they can scan you at this stage. If not a private scan is always an option, it's a bit pricy but will give you piece of mind until your 12 week.
Sending you best wishes 💐
