Christmas babies

Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

@SwedishAnna I was having a panic too because it’s been now 8 working days since my self referral. I called yesterday and they said that they had received my referral and someone would be in touch. They also said that it would be booked from 8 weeks and it would be a phone appointment, and then at my 12 week scan they would take my bloods etc then too.

So basically if you’re panicking like I was, it might make you feel better to give them a call just to make sure the referral has been received. They can get a bit annoyed about being chased (I was meant to give them 10 business days lol) but if it puts your mind at ease then do what’s best for you.

I managed my breakfast but was getting ready to go for a run when I was hit by the biggest wave of nausea I've ever felt. DH got back from the supermarket about ten minutes later and said I looked a bit green, so I've showered and am now bundled up on the sofa with Come Dine With Me. Still in two minds about a private scan.

Hope I can join! So date wise based on LMP i'm 6w 6d but i have very irregular periods so think i am more around 5w 6ds.

So last October I had an early miscarriage around 6w5d and when i went to EPU - there was no sac or yolk and it was classed as pregnancy of unknown location.

I found out I am pregnant again :) trying hard not to get over excited.
Last Friday I started having 'old' blood on wiping which is how my last m/c started so i presumed the worse. On advice from the midwife line i was advised to go A&E.

I went A&E - and unfortunately no room at EPU that day but a gynae doctor checked my cervix (it was closed) and could see old blood sitting outside. She advised me that has my body creates more lubrication the old blood will come out so continue to see it. (There were clots and jelly like too). She booked me in with EPU on Sunday.
My HCG levels were over 4000.

On Sunday - the midwife informed me she thinks im approx. 5w3d(measuring 5.3mm) and could see a Sac and Yolk so all as it should be for this stage.

I wanted to reassure others that actually OLD blood can be ok. I was going out of mind - preparing myself for another MC. Even whilst i was waiting for the scan by myself due to current climate - i was shaking and on verge of tears.

A long way to go and I have another scan in two weeks but i have hope!

My private scan is 3 weeks today, was going to do 2 weeks away but I thought to wait longer. My LMP was 05/03 which would make me 7+ weeks but I know the date we conceived which makes me 6+3 will see what the scan says, 3 weeks seems so long away!

I'm so glad you posted about this I've been having old bleeding/spotting for the past 2 days now and been none stop fretting. I wish the Midwife's here where I am were as helpful as yours I've just been told to ring back if it gets worse and do another test in a week to see if I'm still pregnant😓glad you got good news!x

@PocoyoandEllie mine is on the 17th so I know ow how you feel, it feels so far away doesn't it? I keep saying oh it's almost two weeks away.. but it isn't really 😂 part of me is excited to go and the other part is worrying that I'll go and there's a problem and I will have just spent the last three weeks thinking I am pregnant. Trying to stay level headed is tough when your hormones are raging isn't it!! 🙈🙈 don't worry though.. we will be at our scans in no time!! ❤️

@Optimistic66 sorry for your loss last time 💐 fingers crossed everything works out this time. Thank you so much for sharing about the old blood. I've had the occasional brown smidge over the past few weeks since I found out. Hoping it's as a result of the little bleed I had the first day I found out.
Your EPU sounds amazing. My doctor said there was nothing they could do as so early. Having a private scan on Saturday so hopefully that'll put my mind at rest x

Morning all.... feeling so anxious. Clear blue still showing 2-3 weeks, so obviously freaking out, even though I know they can take a while!

Wish i could just stop testing!

I was so very worried! TMI but on every wipe i'm still getting some (particularly more if I strain as I am a bit constipated). It's a old brown colour and occasionally ligther stringer clots.

When the Gynae did a cervix check using the gadget that they normally use for a smear... it was covered with old blood. She also warned me I would continue to see it for the new few days.

This is 5 days later and I've still got old brown blood smudges every day.

Try not to worry ladies - it easier said than done. But old blood could just be left over from a previous period and slowly leaving your body as your body makes new Cervical mucus

The scan was reassuring so i'd definitely advice going for a early scan but please be aware if you are similar to me 5w-6w - you probably wont see a heartbeat or featus.

I am 5+3 I believe...got 2-3 last Tuesday, although didn't take a wakes one before that. took one this morning (not FMU) and it was still 2-3

Only think I do know is threshold for 2-3 is 153miu/L and 3+ is something like 2753miu/L

I think I might be out, I’m nearly 6 weeks but I’ve been getting brown blood since yesterday. I got a tiny bit with my first child but it only happened a couple of times. We have been very lucky up to now getting pregnant first attempt with both my children and also this time so I don’t feel too disheartened if this hasn’t stuck. My only slight worry is that I’m 36 approaching 37 so I think age could possibly be a reason that things haven’t stuck. We’ll see what happens the next day or 2 but I’m not hopeful.

@dontstandsoclose hope not. That’s amazing to get pregnant first try three times though, it must be reassuring - it took us 7-8 months so if I do have a MC it will definitely be concerning that it could take that long or longer again next time.

Those of you who’ve had 3+ when did you test? Don’t want to waste my last test!!

Random note is anyone freezing? I can't get warm I've had the hair straighteners on my hair, hoody on heating on blanket on hubby says house is boiling I feel shattered and freezing. Little bit flu like.. Felt okay earlier even did half an hour pilates but now I just feel awful like I'm ill

I think we’ve just been very lucky so far, I’m hoping if things don’t work out I can manage to get pregnant again next month. I don’t really want the age gap between my children getting much bigger than it is, plus we’ve got an age cutoff in place so if I’m not pregnant by August we’ll stop at 2 children.

@notalwaysalondoner I got my 2-3 last Thursday and my 3+ today.

@Katbaby my temp is all over the place. At night I am BOILING! In the day I go from freezing to hot.. it's totally up and down.

@DontStandSoClose sending you lots of positive thoughts!! Hope it's all ok. My sister had red blood throughout a lot of her pregnancy and she now has a 10 month old. Stay positive! Xx

@djmbaker had you been taking the week tests each day up until last thursday?

Or was that the first time you tested and got the 2-3 weeks etc?

@ceebee21 I was the same I was 2-3 on Thursday and then 3+ today. But they are the only 2 weeks tests I have so couldnt comment as to how far between 2 and 3 I was on Thursday.

They can be quite out apparently though.

@djmbaker I just feel proper run down today and all I want to eat is ginger biscuits! Had 4 already this morning and a Porridge.
@DontStandSoClose fingers crossed its just old blood and not a sign of anything bad. Have you contacted epu?

So sickness feeling is back 😭 feel like everytime I smell anything even Dp aftershave which I normally love I want to throw up 🙈 trying to force ginger nuts down me praying is stops the feeling. I wish symptoms were black and white one minute I'm fine the next I'm not 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm craving the filling for meat and potato pie but I don't think it will go down well 😂

@ceebee21 these are the tests I've done. I did also do a clear blue digital test on Monday 20th and that said 1-2 weeks but I forgot to take a photo to add.

I am feeling so ill, just had my first actual vomit rather than a heave wish I could just sleep the days away but I have a 5 year old and a full time job 😢

I'm craving sweets!!! So thankfully they are quite easy to nibble on. Not exactly nutritious!! Thought of any food is a struggle though.. 🤢🤢 weirdly the thought of anything in batter?? Like chicken nuggets etc make me want to gag

@Katbaby with my first child I did contact the epu but I had severe pains so they were concerned that I had an ectopic, I had 2 scans, they first confirmed it was in the right place and then the second was to look for a heartbeat (I was too early at the first scan to find one). I won’t ring the epu this time as I don’t have any pains and there isn’t really anything they can do anyway. I’ll just wait and see if it stops, if it does I’ll retest in a week and see if it’s still saying pregnant. I was feeling very off up to yesterday but I just feel normal now so I assume my body has stopped producing hcg.

@GeeHO98 it is rubbish, I’d rather it hurry up if it isn’t sticking so I can crack on next month. I totally understand feeling distressed if it’s your first though, I feel a bit down but I’m not crying. When I realised my 4 year old was stood by the bathroom door and refused to leave!! I felt my heart sink a little but I couldn’t look visibly bothered in front of our daughter. They have great timing!
