Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

@GeeHO98 that does sound like you'll be ok, from what I've been reading (loads) bleeding is very normal in early pregnancy. It's so scary though isn't it, every time I go to the loo I'm checking!
Thanks for confirming, hopefully my husband can come in then. Hoping it doesn't have to be an internal one as I'll only be 6+4 but if it is then I'll live with it. Definitely, I will post a picture as long as all is well x

Marshmallow1102 · 28/04/2020 15:05

@Katbaby when are you planning to book your scan for? (Sorry if you've already said, I'm struggling with the massive size of the thread!)

Katbaby · 28/04/2020 15:10

@Marshmallow1102 hopefully around 15-20th May thinking I'll be roughly around the 8 week mark?

I've got midwife on 7th so will wait til then and see if/when I'm sent for one

Marshmallow1102 · 28/04/2020 15:16

@Katbaby That's not too long to wait!! :) Jealous of your nice early booking in appt, mine isn't until 15th, I'll be 10+3 by then! But if I get offered a scan soon after that then I'll be happy, it just seems like such a long time to wait! I'm worried about going too early for a private scan and wasting money (and going out unnecessarily during lockdown)!

Katbaby · 28/04/2020 15:22

@Marshmallow1102 well to be honest my mum is desperate as me to see a scan so she's offered to pay but it's only £59 and I think for the sake of my sanity and reassurance even if she hadnt offered I was already planning to book one anyways I think it's worth it. But everyone is different as to what they do and don't need to mentally get through this first 12 weeks.
I need near constant reassurance that its all fine 😑🙃

Orginally my booking in apointment was set for June 11th! I tossed and turned all that night thinking that's so far away I'm so stressed and rang the next day spoke to a different receptionist and got it move to potentially a bit too early but I'm glad it's earlier than later

Marshmallow1102 · 28/04/2020 15:37

@Katbaby Surely there's no such thing as too early for booking in! If you're lucky then the dating scan might be soon after it and you might not even need a private one!

Part of me thinks that an early scan would be good to calm me down, but then I think realistically knowing me I would still probably worry until I reached 12 weeks anyway!

Katbaby · 28/04/2020 15:48

@Marshmallow1102 I suppose. I don't know what to expect whether they will take blood /urine samples or anything. Im assuming they must take something as otherwise they would have changed it to telephone maybe? I'm a bit of a baby with needles, not too bad with bloods but dreading any vaccinations. Don't know why I dread those more 😂I am a fainter though haha.

But I just can't wait for it I feel like it's first milestone of the pregnancy

I'm considering still booking private even so just so DH can be part of a scan feel its so important to get the dads as involved as possible.

Hopefully by our 12 week one or even 20 weeks some restrictions will start to lift and they could maybe come to them

DontStandSoClose · 28/04/2020 15:53

It won’t make a difference the booking appointment being a bit early, I guess they do them around 8 weeks as it saves doing appointments with women who have very early miscarriages. They won’t bring your scan date forward as you need to be so many weeks and days for them to be able to do the scan and measure/check whatever it is they do. With my first child my dates were out by 2 weeks and I was barely 11 weeks at the scan, I had to go back 2 weeks later for another scan.

poshpie · 28/04/2020 16:06

Hi all I hope I can join- I am 5weeks plus 2 days and I am so anxious and nervous as this is my first! I went on google after I got a super dark BFP then I read up on all sorts of things that hasn't help my anxiousness - I have been taking tests every day and it is still so dark so I guess it must be a good sign - my husband has told me to stop obsessing so I have decided to stop and just be positive! I am so emotional and even writing this has me crying! I am due on 27th Dec - reading all your posts makes me feel so much more better - thank you

Keepingcomfy · 28/04/2020 16:08

I still don't have any signs of morning sickness although I might feel a little bit nauseous in the mornings. But I just generally feel like shit. I can't really work it out or explain exactly how I feel. Sort of headachey, a wee bit of a sore throat, definitely CBA. Does anyone else feel like this?

I done my prenatal yoga this morning, and a bit mindfulness this afternoon but still feeling pretty crap. Argh! 🤣

Curiousfruit · 28/04/2020 16:49

No morning sickness here either but bloody hell I’m knackered!! Worked this morning and been looking after my toddler this afternoon and just cannot keep my eyes open!

PocoyoandEllie · 28/04/2020 16:58

I had a lie down after my last conference call and just kept my eyes shut for half an hour but felt so sick 🤢 forced myself to hoover and mop my downstairs so feel a bit better for doing that!

PocoyoandEllie · 28/04/2020 16:59

Does anyone else just not fancy anything to eat at all? The thought of eating is making me heave 😳 DH has just gone to the shop for some fresh fruit so I am hoping I can stomach some

Curiousfruit · 28/04/2020 17:13

Tell me about it - I’m starving but everything makes me feel queasy!

ElectricTonight · 28/04/2020 17:23

Thankyou for the warm welcome and congratulations,
Oh I thought it was the other way around perhaps I should read the instructions next time Blushfeeling very happy and relieved now!

Where do I go from here, I can imagine things are different at the moment? Do I self refer or call the GP and when do I do that?

djmbaker · 28/04/2020 17:26

Oh girls, I feel rotten. The only time I don't feel sick is when I eat, but I only want crap!! What is that all about?? The thought of food makes me feel nauseous but eating makes it easier!!
My boobs feel like someone has punched them and I'm so tired I could cry... what on Earth!! It's hit me in the face today 😩😩😩
I am also crying at anything 😂😂 anyone else?

I just cried at the Kardashian's for goodness sakes!!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

djmbaker · 28/04/2020 17:32

Also, to whoever commented about what to drink because of weird taste etc.. i can't find the comment but I can't drink plain water anymore, I have to have cordial.. so I've found this fruit and barley Robinson's summer fruits where you only need a touch.. and when you add that to cold water it tastes amazing!!!

Katbaby · 28/04/2020 17:34

I'm still eating fine just had a really nice tea trying to get as many veggies and goodness in me whilst I'm not sickly for certain foods. Definitely can only tolerate smaller portions but more frequent. Been a grazer today!

Oh bless you @djmbaker get yourself rested up tonight and I hope you feel better tomorrow!
I haven't been a crier but I was a grumpy bugger earlier and very snappy. Not as tired as yesterday but definitely still feeling tired

@ElectricTonight I rang my gp and the receptionist booked me in with the midwife.

@poshpie welcome. Can relate on the testing front, haven't tested in 2 days now though so hoping I'm starting to calm down

december2020 · 28/04/2020 17:38

Aaah so much thread catching up to do!

Nausea I've somehow kept at bay as long as I keep grazing/nibbling and drinking lots of water. I also found lemon ginger tea has really kept it at bay today.

Had a bout of pulling and twinges this afternoon - it's kind of wonderful thinking it's your body making room for the little bean.

What is everyone doing this evening? I think we may have a movie and potentially play a board game before that. I'm usually in bed by 9 these days, just so tired by the time the day is done! And I'm usually a night owl!

Keepingcomfy · 28/04/2020 17:39

@pocoyoandellie I am able to eat and haven't been sick but nothing takes my fancy at all and I am definitely fuller for longer. I feel really full right now even though I had my lunch at half 1 - and it was a very healthy lunch. Pre pregnancy I'd be starving by now!

YahBasic · 28/04/2020 19:03

Definitely feel a lot better on the nausea front today, think it helped having an apple and some rich tea biscuits first thing, then breakfast mid morning and just eating something small (piece of fruit or two biscuits or cereal bar) every 2-3 hours until my evening meal.

I’m coming down with a cold instead though today! Not fun!

mrshxoxo · 28/04/2020 19:52

Thank you everybody!!

@PocoyoandEllie @River5675 @december2020 @Natt99 @notalwaysalondoner Excited to hear about your guys private scans too! Smile

@Nic2908 Thank you i thought you all would like to see a scan as we are all roughly near dates :D I'm just relieved there's only one in there! Grin @djmbaker I am with you on that one i have been feeling dreadful! So frustrating because I feel starving but can't face food at the same time! been nibbling on ginger biscuits it helps a little bit Hmm

Has anybody had a date for a 12 week scan yet? Shock

xxx

PocoyoandEllie · 28/04/2020 20:01

I have had some mango, small bowl of tomato pasta and got some fresh strawberries and cream for when DS is in bed so I actually feel like I am looking forward to eating it! Its a miracle!

djmbaker · 28/04/2020 21:21

@Katbaby just read your questions about your booking appointment.. I had mine last year at about 8 weeks.. and they do your bloods, blood pressure and a wee sample (they test for water infections too as they are common - so don't be alarmed if you get a call saying you have one) your usually there for about 30 mins?? They ask you a ton of questions, give you a welcome pack and that's it. It's really easy and quite pleasant. They answer any questions you have and basically say, see you at 12 weeks.

dixiedo · 29/04/2020 00:06

Can't believe how busy the thread is. How lovely !!
Do you all think there will be a lock down baby boom!?

I'm getting anxious about the scan issue for DP. I know it is just how it is but I would feel so sorry for him. If I could I would rather him go than I !!
I'm going to book a private scan too for 8 weeks.

I was a little confused with the pregnancy tracker with completed and current weeks. What is the norm to go by?

Barely ate again today. Stupidly tired. Feel like crying constantly and I seem to have much less patience. I'm itchy too? Is that normal. I'm never itchy I don't think.

I bought more tests and took one today late afternoon, it was darker but not as dark as I would like but I had drank about 2L so I'm surprised there was anything in there anyway haha. I will take the other tomorrow and ordered a clear blue. I'll jump on and blame @Katbaby too for the excessive testing 😂

Sorry to hear about a couple of you bleeding. I'm checking every time I pee.
I think it's quite common. I bled in the early weeks with DS1 and I bled the whole way through, sometimes heavy with DS2. There was never an explanation and they are both fine

Going to try and go to sleep it look me ages to catch up on the thread !!
Can't wait for my five hours ... 🙃🙃 x
