Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

Morning all!

I’ve got a real heavy feeling today and feel quite queasy! I’m also quite anxious as I’m an ITU nurse and I’m back on nights today! Given the current situation I’ve already had to tell work so they can put me in a non covid area but I found being in full PPE quite tricky and worried that I’m going to throw up in my face mask! 😷 I’ve been struggling with sleep and feel drained which isn’t helping either, I feel it’s too early to take time off and I know we need all the help we can get at work so just muddling through

I’ve wanted to tell everyone but obviously haven’t yet, just my mum and my best friend as I feel I need a bit of support. The fella is great but he’s still in shock! 😂 Which is another reason I joined this group!

I’ve seen a lot of you have the usual ache boobs, dizziness and nausea, when did your symptoms start. I have only know I’m pregnant for a few days and feel they have been increasing since I found out so not sure if I’m just being over sensitive to every change?

Sorry for the long post so early! Hope you’re all well and have slept okay!

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 11:44

@Tink679 morning! Aw you're brave, I admire you! Thank you for all you do!!! I think i read somewhere that high levels of hormones can make you feel queasy so your levels may be high. I was always so worried about throwing up with my first, i kept a couple of those wee paper bags you get on airplanes in my pocket, in case of emergencies 😬 ended up never using them, I think the peace of mind helped.

Thanks lovely, just doing my job. Ah that’s a brilliant idea although not much use at work as can’t take mask off in clinical areas, it will have to be a mad dash to strip and hurl! 🤣

I saw on an earlier post you were thinking of elective c-section. I’m on the same page, my fella is military and I think this would be a great option for us. I had a section with the twins so at least I know what to expect.

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 13:18

@Tink679 yeah I think when you've gone through it before you know whether it's right for you or not. And it's nice to know the hubby can be there - I'm hoping come December the rules will be relaxed again. We've already started the name - discussion 🤣 always a struggle to find names we both like. We're jumping the gun but at least they are nice discussions to have. I'm trying to focus on all the good stuff because it's such an uncertain stressy time at the moment.

Yes I know what you mean although it’s not something we’ve started to talk about yet, I think it’s still sinking in for him. We have children from past relationships and this is our first together so it’s different. I have however been looking at clothes and what I would like to purchase first 🤣 it’s a good distraction from what’s going on in the world right now.

YahBasic · 19/04/2020 13:35

@ArjaD we’ve just started chatting about names too. We’ve realised that we like Nordic/Gaelic names and also unisex names for girls.

Finding girls names a lot easier than boys - we have three options for girls, but just one for a boy so far!

bee222 · 19/04/2020 13:36

I'm due 19th December. I've lost all 4 previous pregnancies though so i'm trying not to get my hopes up!

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 13:40

@Bee22 aw so sorry to hear about your loss. Sending good vibes your way!!! Xx
@Yahbasic see I like unisex names but hubby doesn't. We do have a few on our list for either, want to try to get my dad's name in there somewhere as he passed away last year.
@Tink679 I'm half hoping it's another boy so I can just reuse my toddler's stuff 😂😂

Hello 👋
Joining the Christmas baby band wagon, I think! I have PCOS so very irregular periods and not entirely sure how many weeks I might be - but from the Clear Blue digital test I think I’m 4 weeks + 6. I know they are not completely accurate so thinking when I get to my estimated 6 weeks I might call our Early Pregnancy Unit to see if they’ll have me in for an early scan. They say on the website they’ll see people who are unsure of their dates so hopefully that might offer some reassurance, but who knows if they’ll be able to accommodate at the moment...Its my first pregnancy, and quite a surprise (very, very welcome one though!), so at least knowing rough due date would be helpful

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 15:51

@J6J6 hiii! Sounds exciting! How are you feeling aside from excited? 😁

@ArjaD - have been feeling pretty normal so far, until today! Had sore boobs day before I found out and last week, and quite tired but nothing too bad at all. Today I’ve just had really sore tummy and mega bloated, so enjoying lockdown benefit of being able to be v lazy!

Jadey31 · 19/04/2020 16:25

Hi Ladies! Excited to be part of the Christmas baby group! Found out I was pregnant 4 days ago with our first baby 😍 I think I'm 5+6 weeks and due 14th December? I had irregular periods so really unsure exactly how far along I am. DH and I are so anxious as it doesn't feel real yet. I'll be ringing our local doctors tomorrow to get the ball rolling. Hoping they will ask us to come in for a dating scan 🤞🏻 were also hoping to have a 8 week private scan to put our minds at rest. It'll be nice to show the family too as that'll be when we announce it to our parents.

My current pregnancy systems are sore (and growing 🙈) boobs, stomach cramps and insomnia!

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 16:43

Hi @Jadey31! Such fab news 😀 think I'll ring the doc on Monday too, get it all started. Worrying times but it will be nice to have a midwife to contact in case of worry.

@Jadey31 aw congratulations! sounds like we’re in a bit of a similar boat in terms of not really being too sure about dates. I think if our Early Pregnancy Unit can’t do an early scan I will go for a private one for that peace of mind. Quite nice in a way to hear of others having similar symptoms, even though they’re not nice, it’s good to feel on a similar track!

LikeSilentRaindrops · 19/04/2020 16:52

Hello everyone and congrats - got my BFP yesterday! 3rd baby for me...gulp...

Think due date will be around 30th Dec, but am adding 2 weeks onto that as DC1 was 14 days late and DC2 9.

Last DC’s due date was just before Xmas 2018 - top tip, use the summer sales to buy all your Xmas presents 🤣

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 17:41

@LikeSilentRaindrops congrats!!! Hah brill tip. We've been using the lockdown as n excuse to do lots of arts and crafts with the toddler so we have some Xmas art ready already 😂😂😂😂

Hi all! I got my bfp yesterday and due date is Christmas Day! We've been trying since xmas and already got a 2 year old. Feel more nervous about this pregnancy for some reason, i think because it took a bit longer to conceive.
I feel dizzy most of the time aswell as ridiculously hungry! I don't remember getting any symptoms this early on with my first so I hope things don't get worse 🙈

DontStandSoClose · 19/04/2020 17:54

@Twitchett22 I'm also due Christmas Day 🙌. I've started feeling off today which I'm quite surprised about, I've got that dizzy light headed feeling you get when its hot and you've not drank enough (but I've drank 4 pints of water). I was digging the garden, it is quite warm here today, but I thought I was going to faint and had to sit down. I had fainting issues both times before due to low bp. I think it's more heat though, I don't normally have issues until further along.

Twitchett22 · 19/04/2020 18:02

@dontstandsoclose yeah that's how I've been! But like someone else said I didn't seem to notice anything until i got my bfp so i don't know if I'm more sensitive to any symptoms or they've just started ramping up.
@Tink679 I'm also a nurse, tonight is my first shift since knowing and I'm hoping I won't have to mention it but if I'm with Covid patients I obviously will. Going to speak to my manager in the morning just so she knows. I feel you about the PPE though! It's bad enough without feeling queasy all the time too!

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 18:04

@Twitchett22 you sound like my carbon copy haha. From the sound of it, Christmas time will be a busy time for the maternity wards 😂

Katbaby · 19/04/2020 19:30

Hi can I tentatively join? I got my faint bfp Friday, and darker one yesterday, going to test again tomorrow just to be sure as Ive been suffering with daily spotting so have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I'm gonna lose it! However on a positive note if all is well I know it will be near christmas I'm due also! No idea of dates as I came off the pill mid December and never had a period after my withdrawal so must have been lucky to catch my first ovulation! Just really enjoyed reading all your posts!

Katbaby · 19/04/2020 19:31

Symptoms are - serious bloating, backache and tugging sensation in uterus

Nic2908 · 19/04/2020 19:35

@Katbaby Smile welcome, lovely to see you here.

ArjaD · 19/04/2020 20:05

@Katbaby aw spotting isn't uncommon during the first weeks so I've got it all crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞 is it your first?

OP posts:
Katbaby · 19/04/2020 20:12

Hi @Nic2908 nice to see you across from the ttc thread too! 😊😊
Yes @ArjaD my first so have nothing to compare it too so every little thing is worrying to me! Sorry if you've said earlier in the thread but what number baby are you onto?
