@LadyB90 quite a few of us next week I think 😬 I’m 12 weeks this Friday, my scan date in on Tuesday 14th! Nerve racking.

KitKatKit · 06/04/2020 10:52

Hi @LadyB90 mine is this Wednesday (eek!). I'll be either 11+6 or exactly 12 weeks. Of course that could change!
Although I had a private scan last Tuesday, I'm still nervous as I know lots can change in a week, but trying to remain positive.

How is everyone feeling? I struggled with a severe headache + nausea for several days last week, but I've been feeling much better since this weekend. Have had a sudden burst of energy today so trying to get as much work as I can done (the last few weeks have not been productive!).

DressingGown87 · 06/04/2020 10:59

@kitkatkit aww how exciting! Hope all goes well on Wednesday. You just having the dating or screening scan? I know what you mean that you still worry, even though it was a week since you've seen it’s ok.

Glad your feeling better. I had a bust of energy on Saturday, got quite a lot done, and then slept / watched films all day yesterday. Feeling ok today though.

Mc3209 · 06/04/2020 11:17

My scan is on Monday 13th. Eeeek! But the work is being very busy at the moment, worked all the way through weekend and this week looks pretty full on. At least that keeps my mind off the upcoming scan.

Insomnia is slowly wearing me down. Never had problems sleeping before I got pregnant, so this pregnancy is full of new things for me. And of course very non glamorous constipation... Blush Oh joys.

Mine is 16th April too @LadyB90 I'll be 13+2 (I think!) lots next week then 😀

I'm feeling ok thanks @KitKatKit but still going with the nausea which I thought was getting better... I've also started with waking in the night and can't get back to sleep 😴

professorastrocat · 06/04/2020 11:54

I'm also feeling nervous as I've not had a scan yet so just want next week to come quickly.

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2020 11:57

@KitKatKit I m still tired a lot of time and achy and have what might be the start of a bump. I ve made it to 10+3 with no morning sickness whatsoever so very grateful as I know I could be much worse.

WaveStreet · 06/04/2020 12:10

I keep waking up in the night too with backache and not being able to get back to sleep 😔

Fingers crossed my nausea & lots of food aversion seems to have passed for now so that's one good thing!

Hope you all managed to enjoy the lovely sunshine yesterday too.

DressingGown87 · 06/04/2020 12:23

I woke up at 5.30am today 😭. I’m not a morning person, so this waking up early and not being able to get back to sleep, is driving me mad.

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2020 12:33

@DressingGown87 are you able to nap later in the day? Or not a nap person.

FirstTimeBumps · 06/04/2020 12:38

My scan is the 15th and I'll be 12+2 based on the scan I had at six weeks. I thought I was dealing with no anxiety well but the closer it gets the more I worry. I keep thinking what if something is wrong the. I play through in my head the conversation with the sonographer "well someone needs to phone my OH because I shouldn't be dealing with this on my own let alone have to go and repeat the bad news to him" I know I'm being silly but I can't help it. The 12 week scan in nerve-wracking enough as it is without going alone. I'm genuinely not looking forward to it, more I want it over and done with so I know everything is okay.

@DressingGown87 it was 5.45 for me the past two mornings. My little angel has finally started to sleep through the night from 8pm to 5.45am but refuses to go back to sleep then. We're trying to night wean him so that's not helping Sad

sunbreak · 06/04/2020 12:51

I still don't have news about my scan yet. Hoping I'll get a letter soon. I'm currently around 10+1 and some of my symptoms have started to go. Except that my and DH really fancied Chinese last night so we have in and ordered. Aside from the fact that it was quite an underwhelming experience (won't be going to that takeaway again) I felt like a balloon afterwards. My stomach was bloated and I was so uncomfortable for the whole evening and then for some of the night too.
@Mc3209 I had really bad constipation too but doing this yoga for the gut everyday seems to be working for me (at least for now) - .

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2020 12:55

@FirstTimeBumps I m sure someone will be willing to do that for you if something has gone wrong. I m lucky in that DH won't be more than a few minutes away.

Your OH legally still gets entitlement to go to appointments from a work perspective could he walk you to the door and wait in the car park?

FirstTimeBumps · 06/04/2020 13:01

@1990shopefulftm he's not working at the moment anyway. He was staying at home with #1 whilst I was doing a trainee teacher course. Neither of us drive so I'm going to be walking it anyway so he could come with but would have to bring out little boy. There is a small park behind the hospital he could walk around whilst waiting I suppose. It's just I've heard some have waited an hour plus due to them thoroughly cleaning down the rooms in between each patient. Plus what if the weather is awful. If it's not I think I am actually going to drag him down to be honest. It's at 9am as well and an hour's walk from our house. I'm hoping my bladder will hold out as there will be nowhere to stop. Not that you're meant to go for an hour before the appointment after drinking a pint of water (although I got around this at my six week scan by just continuously drinking vast quantities of water, the moment I emptied it just filled straight back up haha).

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2020 13:06

@FirstTimeBumps
Hopefully at 9am you re one of the first ones of the day.

KitKatKit · 06/04/2020 13:30

@DressingGown87 It's a combined dating and screening (I think/hope!). Glad you're having a better day today too!

@professorastrocat @WaveStreet @DressingGown87 to all you ladies struggling with sleep...I empathise! I've never woken up in the night before, and now it's 2/3 times a night. Also, the feeling really tired post dinner and falling asleep also means I wake up at the crack of dawn too.

@1990shopefulftm the aches and pains are equally annoying! We're all different, so some of us have symptoms others don't :)

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2020 13:34

@KitKatKit I make sure to stick something in TV after dinner to make sure I don't fall asleep, as I managed to have an unintended nap one night after dinner.

KitKatKit · 06/04/2020 13:53

@1990shopefulftm That's a good idea! Hopefully we should all be reaching the end of our first trimester soon so can wave goodbye to the tiredness...and say hello to the new symptoms that lie ahead of us :D

DressingGown87 · 06/04/2020 14:04

I stayed up late last night, beings watched The Nest on BBC iPlayer, and still got up at the crack of dawn. Then there is the constant up and down for a wee all night.

@1990shopefulftm I’ve never been able to nap, I’m hoping I can train myself. Even when I worked nights I couldn’t sleep in the day, so it didn’t last long. Aww you getting a mini bump.

@sunbreak I would love a Chinese, or just something which isn’t my own cooking 😂 Hope you get your letter soon.

@FirstTimeBumps hope the weather stays nice, and you can walk together. My bladder fills straight back up too 😂

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2020 15:02

@KitKatKit I don't mind stick with these symptoms so much if it means I avoid nausea and heartburn as I really struggle with those.
@DressingGown87 yes I m glad I got maternity jeans when I did, so much for thinking I ll only need them after 12 weeks.

Mc3209 · 06/04/2020 16:47

@sunbreak I like Yoga with Adriene! Haven't tried that but one but will definitely give it a go.

One day I should really find the will to at least cut the grass in the garden. If I don't do it soon it might turn into a jungle..

OP posts:
KitKatKit · 06/04/2020 17:20

@Mc3209 don't stress about the grass... look at it this way, you're giving all the wildlife a nice place to whizz around in! You're doing your bit for biodiversity!

Mc3209 · 06/04/2020 17:50

@KitKatKit I love your positivity!

My latest food craving is dry instant noodles. You know those £1 packs that come as a block which you add water to and included flavour packet and then it disintegrate into noodles. Those. Only dry and without flavour packet. Yum! It's like a noodly biscuit. DH was a bit shocked when he saw me tucking into one 😂

OP posts:
sunbreak · 06/04/2020 18:35

@Mc3209 ha ha ha 😊 I've been craving the same noodles just the chicken flavoured ones. I managed to go through 3 packs the other day and hadn't thought about those probably since I left uni quite a while ago 😂🤣😂

1990shopefulftm · 06/04/2020 18:37

Ordered a bath thermometer, not for the baby yet but for me because I've not had a bath since I found out, but I m thinking a quick one would help my back pain. There seems to be different advice as to what temperature it should be, any thoughts?
