@Mc3209 You'd be amazed how soon yours will pop out. I didn't show this early with my last two. I'm glad to hear you are still able to work from home. When is your scan?

@SamK93 Glad its not just me too. Haha!

@hmeadow24 Congratulations! I'd guess a boy.

@1990hopefulftm Yaay! Wow! Where did you buy from?

Mc3209 · 29/04/2020 21:08

@UpsyDaisy1234 It took some negotiating, but managed to convince them to let me continue to work from home.
Had my scan last week on Friday, all fine, very wriggly baby (for some reason it feels ages ago!) Very glad to be over the hurdle of those early scans.

@Mc3290 I thought at first little one was a boy, but now I’m leaning towards girl! No real reason, just a gut feeling!

KitKatKit · 29/04/2020 21:44

Absolutely loving the bump pics, I just look flabby!!
Welcome to new members too 👋🏻

DressingGown87 · 29/04/2020 21:59

@UpsyDaisy1234 and @SamK93 aww amazing bump photos! I have a slight bump, waiting for it to properly pop!

@EmmaA96 Aww that cute! Your youngest will definatley be like who are these intruders!

@1990shopefulftm Thats good! I will have a look at the asda sale, did you look at the mama&papa sale? Did you get a moses basket or next to me in the end?

@hmeadow24 @Lorenzo3000 Congratulations and welcome! I'm no good at guessing sorry, and can't really see the nub. Aww is your little boy excited?

1990shopefulftm · 29/04/2020 22:07

@DressingGown87 I m getting the moses basket for downstairs and then a different brand but something similar to a next to me for half the price for our bedroom . I didn't know mamas and papas had a sale on I ll check it out.

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 09:58

Just found out it's against the hospital policy to write the gender down and none of the private clinics round here are allowing guests at the moment but as we don't want it to be a surprise I guess that I m finding out before DH does. I know it's something very little to be upset about but didn't expect it not to be an option.

DressingGown87 · 30/04/2020 10:26

@1990shopefulftm My two friends have been to window to the womb (Blackburn), you book a 16 week health check, but they allow partners and can tell you the gender too if they can see. Its only one couple in at a time in the building, and the two people working. Try there.

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 10:38

@DressingGown87 It's more for DH than me and we were trying to save a private scan there for later on after 20 weeks to do a 4d one of its an option or just because I don't know how I ll do 5 months with no scans.

He's happy with me doing some sort of reveal of the gender to him. It s one of those things that is on the list of the pregnancy not being how o hoped but baby is healthy as far as I know and that's what matters. Not had a call about my screening bloods so I m assuming all is good.

DressingGown87 · 30/04/2020 10:48

@1990shopefulftm yes, hopefully they will be able to start the 4d ones again.

Aww that’s nice that you do a mini gender reveal? Have you got any ideas on how to do it? It’s so tough, as I remember my friends suggesting before lockdown, we can go shopping, help you enjoy it, go to the cities you want to see, but not I’m just stuck at home on my own.
They say no news is good news. How long ago was it?

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 10:59

@DressingGown87 They took the bloods last Tuesday morning.
Just going to get a balloon or confetti cannon for each colour whatever I can find online.

Mc3209 · 30/04/2020 11:02

@1990shopefulftm I've done a mini gender reveal as the results came to me and I couldn't wait for DH to come home to open them. I've done a trail of notes on the floor set up for him to discover when he walks through the door, the last note had baby's gender. He was on the phone when he came home and remained on the phone as he picked up all my notes and found out the gender, and then still continued the conversation. Was a massive anticlimax. Wasn't feeling guilty at all for finding out before him after this 'reveal'!

FirstTimeBumps · 30/04/2020 11:12

@1990shopefulftm that's pants! Our trust our regularly posing Q&A videos and have said I'm them that the sonographer will.be happy to write down the gender in a sealed envelope which I'm planning on doing because OH doesn't want to find out the gender but he can't resist temptation 🤣 I got a delivery of maternity clothes and a pillow yesterday. Dead comfy but my back still hurts 😔 has anyone got their scan date through for 20 weeks? I've got my midwife Appt for 16 weeks the week after next and apparently they're going ahead in person.

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 11:13

@Mc3209 oh no, you d think he would see it was some sort of suprise and wait for the call to be done.

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 11:29

@FirstTimeBumps I think they must have had complaints in the past if they got the gender wrong. My 20 week scan is on June 8th, my 16 week appointment will be over the phone but no idea when think they ll just call me that week.

Mc3209 · 30/04/2020 11:30

@1990shopefulftm And he is normal very caring husband, just not a romantic bone in him!

@FirstTimeBumps Yep, got my 20 week scan date for June. My 16 week midwife appointment is on 18th of May and I think it will be face to face, haven't heard otherwise (but then again there is still some time to go).

OP posts:
FirstTimeBumps · 30/04/2020 11:36

@1990shopefulftm you think they could just stick a disclaimer in there saying no scan gender is 100% blah blah. Absolute spoil sports!

I haven't got my 20 week one yet 😔

Flora20 · 30/04/2020 11:41

It's always worth asking the sonographer, I think some of them are feeling it's unfair on partners so you never know!

I've not had my next scan date through yet, got my 16 week appointment next week but it's a phone one again, and they've already said the 25 week one will be too. I don't really mind but I think if it was my first baby I'd be more concerned!

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 11:50

@FirstTimeBumps ring up the scan department to chase? Mine just booked it in when I had my 12 week one so I ll be exactly 20 weeks that day.
@Flora20 I bought a blood pressure machine as it's my first baby and I thought at least I can check that since I m missing it with the phone appointments.

DressingGown87 · 30/04/2020 11:57

@1990shopefulftm That sounds a nice idea, I got pink and blue ribbon and a teddy bear, so I'm just going to send a picture to my friends with a bow on it. My mum doesn't want to know the gender. Hopefully you will get a letter soon about the bloods, mine where done the Tuesday, got the results Thursday the week after. Agree with Flora ask the sonographer they may be willing.

@Mc3209 Aww as if he didn't end the call! Was such a nice way of telling him.

My 20 week scan is on the 1st they booked it after my 12wk, 16 week appointment is next week in person, and my 16week scan is on the 10th. I'm current sat waiting for them to call me in for my weekly check, as I live close by they just call when they are quiet.

WaveStreet · 30/04/2020 12:00

I had my scan date letter on the same day as my screening results letter which was only 5 days after my scan! Its for 12th june so I'll be 20+1.

I realised i wasn't listening to the midwife properly at my appointment (was so desperate for a wee but didn't want to go in case someone was going to ask me for a sample!) but i think she said they weren't doing 16 week appointments at all and just to call them if i have any problems.

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 12:09

@DressingGown87 I ll ask, hopefully I get the same sonographer as last time she was wonderful. I love the teddy idea :)
Hopefully I ll get a letter in the next couple of days with the results, my nt was on the higher end of normal but still normal so I m not too worried about it.
Glad they re just calling you to go when it's quiet, I tried convincing the midwife to let me drop a urine sample off when I struggled but they werent keen on the idea and I live half a mile away.

Mc3209 · 30/04/2020 14:22

@DressingGown87 Such a cute idea with a teddy bear!
@1990shopefulftm Balloon and confetti is wonderful! You are so organised. I literally just cobbled together what I had on the day.
I remember once I ordered balloons that need a pump to inflate by mistake off Amazon, nearly gave myself an aneurism trying to blow them up before realising the mistake!

I am so not inspired today. I have to finish one article, and start another by the end of today, but I have no will nor inspiration to work on either of them. Any magic solutions on how to tap into productivity?
Plus I have a UTI.

1990shopefulftm · 30/04/2020 14:27

@Mc3209 Yes I realized I d have to get a balloon pump so confetti cannon it is. Try one of those pomodoro timers, I find that help. Cranberry juice might help a UTI.

KitKatKit · 30/04/2020 16:01

@Mc3209 Ughh I am so miserable today! Have a tonne of work to get through and just cannot.
I'm trying to condense my to-do list every day so that I have less overall to achieve. There's no way I'm going to be at the same productivity levels as pre pandemic or pre pregnancy. So, I'm lowering the bar and suggest you do too!
I did just eat a Kinder Bueno though so hoping that will perk me up.
