@1990shopfulftm I cough and sneeze a lot when I get into bed or wake up. I know if I’m on my side or turn to the side, it’s doesn’t twinge as much 🙈 sounds very weird solution though.

Freddie1987 · 27/04/2020 17:24

@Bex199205 I'm the same as you! It's that weird inbetween stage isn't it, when you feel a lot better but there's no obvious growing signs to keep you feeling reassured and you haven't felt any kicks yet. Odd.

Lolllyf · 27/04/2020 17:37

@1990shopefulftm I also get pain when coughing, or sneezing suddenly! It isn't that bad though and doesn't last too long.

1990shopefulftm · 27/04/2020 17:58

@DressingGown87 @Lolllyf it passes for me in a couple of minutes, just a bad time of year for sneezing really.

Bex199205 · 27/04/2020 18:07

@Freddie1987 @DressingGown87 weirdly I sent the message about no bump and my partner came down and pointed to my stomach. Seems to have grown this afternoon. Feels tight too. Very strange! I cant wait to feel kicks. Smile

Jaffas22 · 27/04/2020 18:10

I ordered a load of maternity clothes from boohoo, they got delivered today, some okay some not so good some il grow into ... I would definitely recommend their maternity tights though!! I never find tights comfortable but these are ☺️

1990shopefulftm · 27/04/2020 18:15

@Jaffas22 Yes I've got their tights, they are brilliant

1990shopefulftm · 27/04/2020 19:43

been looking at prams and only when we've measured the boot tonight have I realised a lot of what I like won't fit

justtb · 27/04/2020 20:18

@1990shopefulftm me too! Does my head in. Leaning forward a little helps me, as well as holding my belly.

DressingGown87 · 27/04/2020 20:22

@Bex199205 I know bet when I’m getting kicked in the ribs in the middle of the night; I might not appreciate it so much! Aww that’s good.

I’ve ordered leggings from ASOS and some vest tops from H&M lots of things where sold out. @Jaffas22 I will look for some tights to hide my pasty legs!

@1990shopefulftm aww no! At least you’ve checked though.

justtb · 27/04/2020 20:22

@krissy12 I am 14 weeks on Friday too! I'm getting a bit uncomfy especially in evenings, bloating makes me feel like I'm going to explode!

1990shopefulftm · 27/04/2020 20:27

@DressingGown87 yes at least I know how compact it has to be now.

krissy12 · 27/04/2020 20:27

thanks everyone for your advice Smile.that's exciting justtb I feel like october is ages away it's all exciting but starting to drag in

Glooorb · 27/04/2020 20:34

I bought some maternity things from H&M - leggings, tights and bras - so I can wear some of my looser fitting dresses. I'm living in my dungarees at the moment - I'm loving my Lucy and Yaks!

I haven't got much of a bump really... I find that in the morning I look smaller? But then throughout the day it seems to get bigger....? Maybe just because of the food baby haha.

Has anyone felt their baby yet? I'm 14 weeks and sometimes I feel like there is some movement but maybe it's just gas Grin

Lastly is anyone starting to sleep on their left side yet?

DressingGown87 · 27/04/2020 20:45

@Glooorb I’ve been trying my hardest to sleep on my left, as they told me to start at 8weeks, due to my blood condition. However my left collar bone is pinned As I’ve broke it 3 times, so I’m in agony! So sleeping on the right.

No movements, but a few flutters, which I think is gas 😂

Glooorb · 27/04/2020 21:02

@DressingGown87 ouch! Typical that it's THAT side of the collarbone you have broken - it doesn't seem like there is much you can do? I heard sleeping on the left side is good, but not on the right side? I normally sleep on my back and I'm finding it difficult to sleep on my side - may be time to invest in a pregnancy pillow...

DressingGown87 · 27/04/2020 21:22

@Glooorb I know, now I remember why I sleep on the right. Going to speak to the midwife at my appointment on Monday and Order a pregnancy pillow to if that helps. I think it’s for blood flow through the placenta. I’ve heard the pillows help you sleep on your side, so maybe try that.

Sls668 · 27/04/2020 21:34

I sleep on my front and am still managing at the moment but I’m worried I’ll never sleep again when I can’t sleep on my front anymore (ok, that’s slightly dramatic but you know what I mean!)

Freddie1987 · 27/04/2020 21:40

@Glooorb I'm same as you, they're bound to fluctuate with all the food and gas throughout the day. I'm also looking at getting some Lucy & Yaks! SmileMy friend recommended Beyond Nine overall/dungarees when she was pregnant, a bit more expensive but built to last and can be dressed up or down.

I've bought a pregnancy pillow too as I keep waking up in the middle of the night on my back and panicking! I got a Dreamgenii on another recommendation, it can double up as a breastfeeding pillow if you want it too as well.

Flora20 · 28/04/2020 08:27

I've been living in my L&Y dungarees and harem trousers for weeks, so glad I'm not having to go into work! Looking forward to being big enough to fit into my over the bump jeans, I was gutted that I couldn't keep wearing them after I gave birth last time! H&m are pretty good for maternity clothes, their leggings are good and their nursing vests are great too. I also have a frugi top that I'm wearing all the time at the moment, it's so soft and feels like I'm wearing pyjamas 😂

@Glooorb I've been feeling little flutters for a couple of weeks on and off, didn't feel anything until 20 weeks ish last time but this one is definitely making itself known! I'm 14 weeks too.

Mc3209 · 28/04/2020 10:44

Since the lockdown, I've developed a weird outfit pattern: business at the top of work shirts and blouses (anything that can be seen on video call), and party at the bottom of comfy pregnancy PJ pants or maternity leggings.

Can't wait to grow a proper bump and feel the baby move!

OP posts:
justtb · 28/04/2020 11:02

@Flora20 I read that pregnant women can feel their babies move from 12 weeks if it isn't their first... if that makes any sense

FirstTimeBumps · 28/04/2020 11:51

@justtb I've felt a few pops already (14+4) but some days there's nothing. I didn't feel #1 move until around 20 weeks but it's definitely movement. I've just ordered a pregnancy pillow as I woke up yesterday nearly in tears having been on pain in my dream?!?! Don't know how it's going to work though. We only have a double and there me and my OH plus my LB who's 16 months from about 5.30 every morning (however I've also just ordered blackout roll so hopefully I can get him to stay put in his own bed soon).

1990shopefulftm · 28/04/2020 12:35

@FirstTimeBumps we have a small double so I think when I get a pregnancy pillow, I might have to find a futon for DH to sleep on as we both just about fit now.

KitKatKit · 28/04/2020 13:02

@Mc3209 haha I'm the same, business up top and party down bottom! I haven't got any maternity clothes, just wearing all the loose / waistband-less stuff like jumpsuits (I love a jumpsuit!).

I hadn't heard of Lucy and Yak or Beyond Nine until this thread, their stuff looks fab but everything I like in my size is sold out on both sites. Everyone clearly has the same idea as me😄

@DressingGown87 Gosh your collarbone sitch sounds excruciating! Is it safe to sleep semi- sat up? Or does that count as on your back?

Hope you're all hanging in there, I'm finding today a harder day because it's raining cats and dogs here!
