@1990shopefulftm @DressingGown87 I’ve been obsessed with salt and vinegar crisps too and cheese! I was vegan before I became pregnant but after 3 weeks of being sick all the time I gave in to my cravings for cheese, I’d started dreaming about cheddar 🤣

1990shopefulftm · 25/04/2020 19:41

@roarfeckingroar mine will be over the phone, I think they re just going to call and check I don't have any worrying symptoms and discuss my screening bloods but they told me if I dont hear by Monday it's good news so seems they were fine.
@DogCatDex this is my first baby and I always thought cravings would be more obscure, not my body wanting loads of salt. If you were dreaming about it you must have really needed cheese for some reason.

DogCatDex · 25/04/2020 19:58

@roarfeckingroar mines over the phone as well. I was going to check in the big red book we were given whether we’re missing out on any tests from them doing it that way. Otherwise I don’t really get it either! To be honest my midwife line always goes to voicemail so I’ve been using my GP if I have any worries

Jaffas22 · 25/04/2020 20:20

Almost certain I can feel some wiggling going on inside me this evening ... it’s the first time iv felt it and don’t know if it’s baby or just gas! ... have many others felt any odd movements/twinges/butterflies/bubbles🙂?

Sls668 · 25/04/2020 20:32

@jaffas22 I’ve had a couple of fluttery feelings but, like you, not sure if it’s baby or something else!

Have people been having a weird dreams too? I’ve always had nice dreams but I’ve had some awful ones, one where my friends mum died, one where my dog fell off a 3rd floor balcony and broke his shoulder and then 2 where my baby has been completely hideously ugly 🙈

KitKatKit · 25/04/2020 20:56

@DogCatDex Thanks for the iron warning, that's really helpful to know actually.

@FirstTimeBumps I know what you mean about the diluted squash- I went off sweet things for weeks and it's only recently returned! I also haven't been able to have my one morning cuppa for 2 months as it made me want to hurl, but I managed a decaf this morning. Baby steps!

@roarfeckingroar Re: 16 week appointments over the phone, who bloody knows 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think you're a bit ahead of the majority on here dates wise so you might actually be able to give us all some insight when you have yours 😀

How are we all sleeping? I've been up since 3.30am (god knows why) and am now KNACKERED. I've never been a napper and despite spending most of today horizontal, I couldn't get any kip. Hoping I get a better night's sleep tonight!

Jaffas22 · 25/04/2020 20:56

@Sls668 Iv had some very bizarre dreams, none as brutal as yours thankfully .. I had a dream that my mum was in labour in the bed next to me at the hospital ... very strange!

Jaffas22 · 25/04/2020 20:58

@KitKatKit my sleeping hasn’t been great! Waking up for toilet and with backache every night then just tossing and turning.. my partner bought me a pregnancy pillow for my birthday today so I’m looking forward to seeing if this helps get me comfy ☺️

Flora20 · 25/04/2020 21:02

Thinking back to my first pregnancy the 16 week appointment was very quick anyway, possibly a urine test but no bloods and they don't start measuring bump or listening for heartbeat until later on, so being on the phone probably won't matter. Mine will be, no idea what she'll actually talk about!
@Sls668 it's really comnon to have vivid dreams when you're pregnant, hopefully you'll have some more positive ones though!

@KitKatKit I'm knackered today but I know why - 2 year old was awake on and off from half 1! Hoping she sleeps better tonight...

KitKatKit · 25/04/2020 21:22

@Jaffas22 Sorry to hear you're in the same boat and yay for the pregnancy pillow! I'm the same as you, get up for a wee and then I'm starving (so I eat two crackers) and then toss and turn. Then the birds start at about 5am and any chance of sleep is out for me at that point!

@Flora20 You definitely deserve a rest more than me as you're wrangling a toddler at the same time as dealing with all these symptoms! 😀

@Sls668 I meant to reply earlier and say, SAME HERE! Well, for the brief period of time that I am asleep haha. I keep having nightmares that either my parents house is being broken into, or my own house is, and I'm in bed powerless. They're not very nice and probably contributing to why I can't fall back asleep. Hope they become less vivid for us all!

DressingGown87 · 25/04/2020 21:37

I’m the same with dreams, dreams about ex, waking up thinking I’ve heard my (ex) step kids who moved out last year shouting that they’ve wet the bed, or need a drink, and last night my garage was on fire. I never knew there was two 4 o’clocks in a day either 🙈 and I can’t nap to save my life.

I would give someone a packet of my very limited salt and vinegar crisps right now for a shoulder / back massage 😭

My mum bless her did me an Emergancy online order of my desired cheese (which I hated before pregnancy) which has been delivered.

WaveStreet · 25/04/2020 21:53

Sorry to hear about everyone's bad dreams, hopefully it'll pass soon. I'm managing to avoid them but i am in the backache/tossing & turning camp 😔

@Jaffas22 is it your birthday today?

Jaffas22 · 25/04/2020 21:57

@WaveStreet it’s tomorrow ☺️

WaveStreet · 25/04/2020 22:07

@Jaffas22 hope you have a lovely day tomorrow, are you managing to do anything to celebrate? Laughing at your pregnancy pillow being a wanted birthday gift 🤣 i would be happy with that too!

Jaffas22 · 25/04/2020 22:24

@WaveStreet Thankyou very much ☺️ Noo not able to do a lot to be honest, DP usually works away but he’s home so that’s a positive! We’ve ordered a Sunday dinner delivery that will probably be the highlight of my day (if I can eat it!!)
The pregnancy pillow was a really good shout, but I’m thinking maybe he’s just sick of me complaining! It takes up most of the bed though so think he’s regretting this already as now I’m hinting for a bigger bed 😂

WaveStreet · 25/04/2020 22:57

That's nice that you at least get to spend some time together, enjoy your roastie!
Haha I don't think they know what they've let themselves in for, mine will be in for a shock too when he realises how little space is left for him!

UpsyDaisy1234 · 26/04/2020 00:29

@Jaffas22 Happy Birthday to you!

Pregnancy pillow will surely help you with your aches and give you more comfort especially in the coming months....and even after birth. I hope you enjoy your brithday dinner!

DressingGown87 · 26/04/2020 07:45

@Jaffas22 Happy Birthday! Hope you had a better nights sleep with the pillow, and have a great day! C

Flora20 · 26/04/2020 08:34

Happy birthday @Jaffas22! Enjoy your dinner!

Jellanore · 26/04/2020 09:11

Hi everyone,

I don't usually join threads but DH thinks it would be good for me to speak to people going through the same things Smile Apologies if I'm doing the wrong thing by jumping on here...

We're expecting our first (I'm 15 weeks tomorrow) and I'm worried that everything is OK. My morning sickness was horrendous until last week but at least I knew everything was fine, but now I'm feeling much better. I'm sure that's supposed to be the case, but I can't help but worry! Does anyone else feel the same?

I don't think it helps that all of my appointments have been cancelled apart from the odd telephone call. My next scan is on 2nd June, but haven't heard anything about an appointment before then, so I guess I'll have to wait and see! It's this normally what happens?

Sorry for the long post! Hope everyone is doing well in these uncertain times x

DressingGown87 · 26/04/2020 09:27

@jellanore Congratulations and welcome! I will be 15weeks on Tuesday!

Sorry to hear you’ve suffered with horrific morning sickness. I’ve not had morning sickness, but others have. It’s does tend to subside in the second trimester, so it’s quite normal to start feeling a bit better over the next few weeks.

You should have a 16weeks appointment with your midwife / consultant. But like most appointments this is probably going to be by phone again. I think they just run through screening results (if you opted for them at the 12 week scan), check how your feeling. X

1990shopefulftm · 26/04/2020 09:53

@Jaffas22 happy birthday :)

@Jellanore I ve had no morning sickness at all and the midwives weren't worried. Did they do your timeline bit in your notes for you that will say dates for things?
My 16 week appointment will just be over the phone but I have a blood pressure machine and know how to check my pulse so it's just the urine test I m missing out on so not too worried about it.
Definitely gotten a little less symptoms as I m approaching 14 weeks so I think it's normal.
Everyone on this group has been wonderful when I ve been a bit anxious :)

BS9790 · 26/04/2020 09:53

I'm not having a 15/16 week appt. My midwife just said they're not doing them, phone or otherwise, and gave me a date for my 24 week one.
Told me to ring her in the mean time if any issues. 🤷‍♀️

DogCatDex · 26/04/2020 09:56

@Jellanore hey, I’m a newbie to threads too. It’s been really nice to have a group of ladies going through something similar to me (especially as I’m not sure I’ll be part of an in person baby group because of the lockdown)

If it makes you feel better I had horrendous morning sickness too I’m (w13+5) and I’m feeling way better. Everything I read on the Start4life NHS website says the second trimester is the “honeymoon” one so I think it’s normal

That said I have decided to have a few extra private scans. I’m based in London and I happen to have a private scan place 15mins drive away. Maybe if you’re super worried that’s something you could do?

Have you had your first scan?

SammySN · 26/04/2020 09:58

Hello, I'm new to mumsnet and was interested in finding some mum's who were due around the same date as me, to share this journey with! I'm 14 weeks 4 days, due Oct 21st.
