@AdventureAhead my screening was last week, they said 7days until I get my results, and would hear from them if they had any concerns.

Just got back from the hospital, I didn’t know, but I have to have heartbeat checks until I get Fetal movements. Due to my late mmc in 2011 and other earlier ones. So I’ve heard the heartbeat 😍 they said my screening results weren't back / on the system. Which is usually a good sign. But they had to check my blood (thickness) to check what dose of Fragmin I needed to be on.

@ytea @Strawberries4days welcome and congratulations to you both. I have a scan booked at 16 weeks, to do a health check, but they’ve said they will try and tell me the gender if they can. It’s no partners / guests.

I’ve got to get rid of / sell vast amounts of children’s clothes (boys) aged 2-3 up to 7-8, to get my spare room straight. Plus loads of toys, bikes, bunk beds, you name it! What’s the best way?

JC084 · 23/04/2020 13:36

@AdventureAhead
I had my scan last Tuesday and got the results through the post on Saturday. They did say it would be 1-2 weeks but mine was a pretty quick turnaround

1990shopefulftm · 23/04/2020 13:56

@DressingGown87 glad it wasn't anything to worry about, sounds like you ll just get a letter saying that the screening was all normal.

You could put the stuff on a community Facebook group, I ve seen so many people put stuff on their and they disinfect it and someone gets it from their drive. You could try eBay for the clothes and use a courier that does collections from home maybe?

Flora20 · 23/04/2020 14:46

#DressingGown87 That's great about hearing the heartbeat, it's good they're looking after you so well.

Loads of new members the last couple of days, welcome! October is going to be a busy month!

I can't remember now who mentioned it but I know there was a discussion of slings and prams - someone said they only used their sling for a couple of months? Just wanted to say that there's a huge range of slings and carriers out there, the best ones for a newborn are either a stretchy wrap or a close caboo, which will get outgrown by 4 or 5 months. There are lots of others though that last a lot longer - I still carry my 2 year old now and still find a carrier a lot more useful than the pram!

Sls668 · 23/04/2020 15:42

Hi, newbie here!
I’m 12+6 with my first and had my 12 week scan yesterday, as well as a private one last Monday so my bf could attend. I originally was due in November so have jumped between the 2 groups but thought it was time to comment! My due date now is 30th October.
Apart from complete exhaustion and constant nausea I think I’ve got off quite lightly as I haven’t been properly sick at all (and I’m a very sicky person!). My midwife rang a few days ago and said my iron is low so I’ve been taking liquid iron shots in the hopes that’ll make me feel a little more human soon!

KitKatKit · 23/04/2020 16:05

Wow loads of new faces here, welcome everyone! Lovely to see scan pics and development news.
Just sending a message of encouragement to get us all to the end of the week... it's been a tough one! Star

WaveStreet · 23/04/2020 16:20

Welcome to everyone new!
I've attached my scan photo from yesterday if anyone wants to have a guess at boy or girl?

@Sls668 hi! I couldn't relate more to your post lol. I'm also due October 30th and I'm feeling the exact same way you are! Constantly tired, and apart from the nausea I haven't actually been physically sick like I though I would. My iron has also come back low and I really hope that I feel some type of normal soon. Is this your first pregnancy? Congratulations and good luck xxx

SamK93 · 23/04/2020 16:24

@WaveStreet lovely scan pictures! I'd say maybe a little girl? Xx

1990shopefulftm · 23/04/2020 16:30

@SamK93 I ve gotten lucky, I m constantly tired but never had nausea or sickness

Freddie1987 · 23/04/2020 16:40

@AdventureAhead I got my results back today, a week since scan but definitely was expecting it to be no news is good news for a couple weeks longer, so I'm relieved they've come so quickly Smile

@WaveStreet I'm guessing boy too! Anyone want to try guess mine?

Welcome newbies!! So nice to know there's a whole load of women out there around the country going through the same thing in this crazy time...whereabouts is everyone from anyway? Anyone from Leeds or Yorkshire like me?

Sls668 · 23/04/2020 16:46

@SamK93 aww we must be pregnancy twins! Yes, this is my first, is it yours too? I just told my family yesterday, had already told Mum and best friends, just debating when I want to do the old Facebook announcement!

@Freddie1987 we’re from Leeds too!

SamK93 · 23/04/2020 17:01

@Sls668 we must be lol! It's actually my third, my daughters 8 and my son is nearly 5 so it's been a while and it always seems brand new again! Aww a little Facebook announcement would be cute, bring a smile to people in these hard times. I'm so eager to find out what I'm having 😂 I think because I have one of each I'd love to have a gender reveal as a surprise.

@1990shopefulftm that's good, being tired all the time is just horrible though isn't it? I hate not having any energy to do things. Are your iron levels okay? It's just one of those pregnancy symptoms we have to deal with, should ease soon.

1990shopefulftm · 23/04/2020 17:05

@SamK93 I ve been tired since about 5 weeks so I m used to it as this long now. As far as I know, I had screening bloods done on Tuesday so hopefully I ll find out if my irons low.

DressingGown87 · 23/04/2020 17:34

@1990shopefulftm thank you. Hopefully they will be normal. I will try FB groups, then I can start painting!

@Flora20 thank you. They are, and I can’t thank them enough, especially with everything that’s going on at the minute.

@Sls668 congratulations and welcome! Hope your iron shots help with the tiredness. I’m on iron tablets, but have been since before I was pregnant. I’m lucky I got away with (so far) with the sickness. I was going to do the 20week out of lock down big reveal...

@Freddie1987 @wavestreet aww beautiful scan pics! Freddie i would say girl for yours. And WS I think I can see a nub (trust me I’m no expert though) and would say boy.

I’m Lancashire

DressingGown87 · 23/04/2020 18:01

The midwife just came and dropped off my screening results, on her way home. All low risk. Plus my bloods taken today, all clear 😊 and I’m on the correct doseage of everything. Can’t fault them at the minute

BS9790 · 23/04/2020 19:23

We've booked a private scan for 16+5 and I messaged first to confirm my hubby could come. I think it depends on the company, I've found 4 local, 1 has closed, 1 isn't allowing partners but the other 2 are.

@Freddie1987 I'm in Yorkshire too :) not too far from Leeds.

Had another scan today (been in the EPU, suspected UTI) and it was a much nicer experience than my dating scan last week and all much clearer. So glad my hubby got to see a half decent photo now!

Freddie1987 · 23/04/2020 20:17

Amazing, glad to see these a few fellow Northerners Grin

I had a weird hunch of girl at the scan too Smile

babymama09 · 23/04/2020 22:17

Hi ladies. Not been on here much today but I have just read through some previous posts which I have obviously missed. To those mum's on here who have received bad news I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear about your losses. I am here if you ever need to talk I say this because I have lost children, I gave birth to stillbirths in 07 and 09 and miscarried last year I wanted to send hugz and love to you and your families.

All you ladies whom have had healthy scans congratulations. Just been rereading some of your views on pram systems, I have noticed something today which might take your interes. Prices are down on prams! Samualjohnson. Com I think its called have dropped their prices on loads of high range prams.

How is every one today? I'm quite anxious if I'm honest, my scan date for 16 weeks is on 10th May I think it said but then they don't want to c me until 3rd June and this scares me a little.

EmmaA96 · 23/04/2020 22:22

The private scan I went for over the weekend allowed a partner/family member so it definitely depends on the company, she also mentioned that we should book to go back for 16 week gender reveal. Although they don’t advertise online they are doing that only reassurance etc. but I’m sure once you’re there they would be more relaxed.

I went for my booking in app yesterday, she couldn’t find a vein then when she eventually got blood it stopped and had to get prodded again my arms are in bits, never had this problem before! Finally got a date for our NHS scan for Tuesday, for my last two pregnancies I knew straight away had my booking app super early 12 scan almost bang on this time I literally found out a couple of weeks ago, didn’t think we’d get in in time for the screening etc.

HelenMarie1001 · 23/04/2020 22:31

@Freddie1987@Sls668 Leeds based too Smile Had my scan at SJH on Tuesday.

Window to the womb are still allowing an adult to accompany you to the scan if that helps anyone. We've just been able to book our gender scan in! Smile

Jaffas22 · 23/04/2020 22:46

@HelenMarie1001 that’s such a cute scan photo!

Speaking of locations ... is anybody from around Middlesbrough/Teesside area??

DressingGown87 · 23/04/2020 22:52

@BS9790 glad your ok, and had a better experience today, and got a better photo!

@babymama09 thank you I will have a look at that site. My 16 week scan is on the same date as yours. And next scan after that is the 3rd. Have they put any appointments in place for you, to help with anxiety after your previous losses? I can’t fault my trust, they are doing weekly Fetal heartbeat checks, until I get movement, to help with my anxiety, and so they can start the reverse counselling (as they put it).

@EmmaA96 sorry to hear your a bit of a pun cushion today! It’s good that your getting seen in the window!

@helenmarie1001 that such a good picture. My friends went to window to the womb, had to book it under reassurance. Have you got a gut feeling?

Sls668 · 23/04/2020 23:10

We went to WITW too so that my partner could come, they were really lovely but my NHS sonographer was not happy that they were still open!
How is everyone sleeping? I’m so tired all the time but really struggle to sleep (or at least stay asleep). In between getting up to wee and my lower back aching, I’m awake 3 or 4 times in the night and I’m usually a big sleeper!
Also, has anyone else been referred to a consultant for asthma? Mine is usually mild but, as I was really ill at Christmas with two chest infections close together, I have to see the consultant. Will this be a one off or a regular thing?

babymama09 · 23/04/2020 23:18

@dressinggown87, I am waiting for my midwife to get back to me. The consultant I had who was in fact human this week I was 😲😲 has asked me to have heartbeat and blood pressure checks throughout. With my little girl (who is 5 now the two I lost were girls I didn't think I could carry them) I was scanned every other week til birth, I understand circumstances with covid makes that more difficult but I am scared if they don't check something will end up happening again. I have a strong feeling my pattern on children is about to change course. Glad 5hey are keeping an eye on you though. I downloaded a fetal heart beat app when I had my daughter but for some reason I cannot find that app for this one. Xx
