We will have to see if the hunches are right in a few weeks! @Jaffas22 that’s funny about the tail! I’ve put on a 5lbs, but I think that might be biscuits from always being at home and in the fridge.

@babymama09 aww cute scan photos! I’m no good at nub guesses! But I guess girl 🙈 I’m sorry to read about your losses, I know it’s tough for experience too. There is a program called “maternity ward” which is my local hospital; which might be worth a watch. I’ve not got round to watching anything yet.

@UpsyDaisy1234 glad your scan all went well! And congratulations

@DogCatDex congratulations and welcome!

@Danielle95lab glad your feeling a bit better today and less anxious, and that you’ve been able to speak to the midwife again for some reassurance.

I kind of wish I had the harmony test, as I’ve got so many unknowns from previous pregnancies. Plus because I’m not with the F I know nothing about his medical history, or family history. But I thought I just don’t need to add to my anxiety. I’ve not heard anything back from my screening, they said if I don’t hear anything, it’s normal and will get a letter in due course.

@WaveStreet good luck at your scan today.

@roarfeckingroar how’s that spreadsheet looking, that you started right at the begining?

Mc3209 · 22/04/2020 12:10

@babymama09 Harmony screen is Non Invasive Prenatal Test, where maternal blood is taken and baby's DNA is fished out and analysed for genetic abnormalities (small amount of baby's DNA gets into maternal stream through placenta). The standard set is 21, 18 and 13, but you can have additional conditions tested for, and as they are looking at baby's chromosomes they can tell you the gender if you want. You can have that from 10 weeks.
This is different from blood test one gets as part of NHS screen at 12 weeks (usually bHCG and papp-a).

@UpsyDaisy1234 yes I ll be happy with way if they re healthy, we ve got names in mind for either a boy or a girl and the nursery I think we re going for painting it grey.

DogCatDex · 22/04/2020 12:14

@roarfeckingroar I’m based in London.

Is it strange that my partner and I aren’t planning to find out the second? Just let it be a surprise 🤓

Danielle95lab · 22/04/2020 12:14

@DressingGown87 yeah I heard back within 6 days, so you're probably fine. I wish I never bothered because I'd save myself all the worry. But everything seems to be pretty positive just extra chances to see baby really and I won't go over due date (which I won't complain about 😂) Don't worry about things if you don't have to. It just goes to show everyone is so different, hopefully happy healthy babies all round xxx

DogCatDex · 22/04/2020 12:17

Oh also, as my first trimester was awful I haven’t done any exercise over the last 3 months. Are there any YouTube channels/apps etc for safe pregnancy exercise? I was a keen runner and cyclist before but not sure what I should be doing whilst pregnant

babymama09 · 22/04/2020 12:19

@dressinggown87 thank you for your kindness and for the guess, what channel can I get that from? I know its daft to watch these type of programs when your pregnant because it makes you want to have baby sooner or at least it makes me want to but I can't help it.

What are your thoughts on prams and have you all seen the prices of them these days 😳😳😳😳😲😲😲😲😲 they are extortionate!
@Mc3209 thanks for the information I have honestly. Never heard of it or at least I don't remember hearing about it. Xx

1990shopefulftm · 22/04/2020 12:19

@Jaffas22 I ve put on 5lbs, they weighed me yesterday, i m getting less exercise and doing a lot of baking so probably not all baby bump weight.

1990shopefulftm · 22/04/2020 12:29

@babymama09 I m hoping to get a travel system for £400 or under but I m not feeling too hopeful at the moment. Had no idea it d be so much. I m doing a list of what I think we ll need to get so hopefully can find some wiggle room in the budget somewhere.

Mc3209 · 22/04/2020 12:33

@babymama09 I love watching those programs, and I sob every time baby come out I am sobbing away happy tears in front of the telly..

@DogCatDex You can continue exercise you are used to prior to pregnancy whilst being pregnant, albeit maybe lighter intensity. I know of many runners who continued to run throughout good chunk of pregnancy. I was never a good runner to begin with, and now I am getting out of breath walking up the stairs.. But I am still continuing with yoga, which I did before pregnancy.

Lolllyf · 22/04/2020 12:35

@babymama09 they can tell the sex because it analyses fetal DNA in maternal blood so they are able to tell the sex from the chromosomes. They asked me I wanted to know (I did) but there was an option to have the sex left off the report.

Lolllyf · 22/04/2020 12:41

@DogCatDex have you tried barre? I did it quite before. I really like popsugar barre on YouTube , you can quite easily adapt it to lower impact and just avoid doing abdominal crunches or adapt ab exercises. The popsugar videos are really uplifting. I was doing them before lockdown when I didn’t have time for gym. This morning I typed in antenatal barre on YouTube and did this it was so hard!

DressingGown87 · 22/04/2020 12:45

@Danielle95lab I know I’ve enjoyed having the extra scans so far. They’ve said if I can last til 38 weeks they will be happy. I’ve got to text my midwife about missing blood samples and repeat prescription so will mention it.

@babymama09 it was on channel 5. I’m looking at the Bugaboo Fox, as I want something good for terrains and a travel system. Think it will depend on whether I sell my company, or how much work I can do before i need to buy it. As it’s just all so much money.

@DogCatDex I want to start swimming again. But for now all I’m doing is long walks.

LadyB90 · 22/04/2020 13:53

Love seeing everyone's scan pics!
@Jaffas22 I haven't put on any weight but I've had sickness and no appetite so that's probably why.
My MS went for two days and I was feeling so happy that it was finally over but it's back in full force today. Hard not to feel fed up with feeling/being sick the whole time! Trying to focus on the positives.

So exciting those of you who have found out the sex already! The 20 week scan feels so long away.

babymama09 · 22/04/2020 14:00

@Mc3209 I am like you end up in happy tears at the end. But then I am like that with my daughters Disney films lol
@dressinggown87 I will have a look for that on 5 demand sounds interesting to watch. I have looked a t all kinds honestly I don't need a car seat as I kept the last two but I want something that is sturdy enough to copy with shopping.
@Lolllyf wish u would have knew about it I'm too impatient to wait til the 16 week scan. Lol

roarfeckingroar · 22/04/2020 14:13

@DogCatDex me too Smile. Not finding out the sex is pretty normal I think; I'm just impatient.

Lolllyf · 22/04/2020 14:34

@babymama09 you can do it at any stage of pregnancy but it very expensive if you just want to know the sex!

SamK93 · 22/04/2020 14:42

Hope your all feeling okay today, coming to the end of my 12th week, nausea is subsiding but I just feel so tired all the time! Anyone else like this? I've added my scan pic for any fun guesses xx

Late October babies - Thread 2
roarfeckingroar · 22/04/2020 15:02

@DogCatDex before pregnancy I walked a lot, swam, did body pump twice a week and hot yoga twice.. I cannot stand running at the best of times . Now I'm trying to walk at least 8km and do a YouTube yoga class every day.

@babymama09 @1990shopefulftm
Prams are a minefield. So many! I think I want a very lightweight prams for walking in London and a sling but we will need a car seat too.

I really miss swimming.

WaveStreet · 22/04/2020 15:08

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for my scan. I was SO nervous this morning but everything was fine but baby was sleepy and not very cooperative! Due date put back by one day so now its 29/10. Will post a photo later 😊

DressingGown87 · 22/04/2020 15:15

@wavestreet congratulations on your scan! Glad everything went well.

@SamK93 aww congratulations. I’m really terrible at guessing. I would say girl! I’m still feeling tired, but didn’t know if it’s a combination of being at home, waking up early and pregnancy.

babymama09 · 22/04/2020 15:16

@SamK93 it's a lovely scan pic I am struggling to make my mind up. As a guess I'd say more boy but I am not totally convinced.

1990shopefulftm · 22/04/2020 15:16

@roarfeckingroar yes I want to get a sling, but we will need a car seat and something lightweight for when I take baby out alone.

roarfeckingroar · 22/04/2020 15:22

@1990shopefulftm that's exactly what I need. No idea where to start.

1990shopefulftm · 22/04/2020 15:27

@roarfeckingroar I ve found some on online4baby but don't want to be ordering to June as we d rather keep babies bits in the nursery, but we don't want to use the room yet as we want to get some plastering fixed in there, so I m keeping my out for good deals and seeing if they're still around in a month or so.
