I’ve also ordered a bunch of maternity stuff... everything still fits but my jeans are getting uncomfortable where they sit on my stomach 🙈 Can’t wait to have a proper bump!

Freddie1987 · 21/04/2020 16:49

@Danielle95lab sorry to hear you've had this news but from the very little reading I've done up on it it sounds like it's not uncommon and most women go on to have normal, healthy pregnancies just with a lot more check-ups. Hopefully the extra appointments will help alleviate some of the anxiety? I know for me feeling out of control is the thing that makes me feel most anxious, so maybe having all the extra care will help keep you armed with information about how baby is doing and help put you at ease a bit? Hope you're ok though, not easy to hear anything but normal results is it. How long after your scan did your midwife ring?

SamK93 · 21/04/2020 17:07

Hi ladies, I'm new to the site, due October 30th, so I'm 12 weeks and 4 days x

Danielle95lab · 21/04/2020 17:09

@Freddie1987 she called 6 days after my scan. She doesn't seem to concerned at all. Just aspirin every night and extra scans to make sure growing okay. And I won't go over my due date, but I'm just so shocked. Feel a bit like my body has betrayed me cause it's totally out of my control. Least the other results were fine, it's just a bit daunting. I'm going to have another scan in a few weeks privately as well xx

DressingGown87 · 21/04/2020 17:14

@Danielle95lab gather some questions over the next few days, and maybe give her a call or ask for a consultant to explain things to you. You’ll at least get the best information possible. The aspirin will hopefully help the blood, mine seems to be working, I’ve got additional scans too, just think at least they are keeping an eye on us.

@1990shopefulftm I just took my notes when I didn’t have my exemption, BUPA I think was taking on NHS in north preston.

@SamK93 congratulations and welcome! You had your scan? Or you still anxiously waiting?

@babymama09 congratulations! Glad you finally got to see a human! Aww that’s exciting, how many weeks will that be at? I’m monitored at regular intervals, but still feels a lifetime between appointments.

1990shopefulftm · 21/04/2020 17:18

@DressingGown87 I ll give them a call after the lockdown is over.
I m not sure at what point we want to start buying things, might be a mad rush in all the shops once this is over so I d be getting a lot online anyway.

Danielle95lab · 21/04/2020 17:19

@DressingGown87 yeah you're so right, it doesn't hurt to have extra scans does it. If baby has to come a bit early then so be it. But thankfully I've been researching the life out of it and most people tend to have normal pregnancies. It's just not good for me mentally😂 I'm in for a scan next week, then 17 weeks (both private), then I'll have my normal NHS ones after that. Whatever it takes to bring a bit of peace of mind and know he/she is developing okay x

SamK93 · 21/04/2020 17:24

@DressingGown87

Thank you so much, yes I had my scan last week! I'm soo eager to find out the gender but will be waiting for June 18th my 20 week scan lol.
This is my third pregnancy, and I did have a question for you all if anybody has any answers or advice. Glucose tolerance test, I never had it with previous two pregnancies but I've had an appointment for one this time. Does that mean they've picked something up in my blood tests? Xx

Mc3209 · 21/04/2020 17:56

Got my Harmony screen results back today - all fine, and found out I am having a boy ☺️
Just the normal 12 week one to go on Friday.

SamK93 · 21/04/2020 17:58

@Mc3209 I'm so happy for you! A baby boy yay 💙 did you have the harmony test privately? Xx

1990shopefulftm · 21/04/2020 18:00

@Mc3209 I didn't realise they could pick it up in the blood so early, that's wonderful :)

WaveStreet · 21/04/2020 18:10

@Jaffas22 glad your scan went well today too 😊

Aww @Mc3209 a little boy 💙 did you have any feelings either way before you knew? Glad your results were fine, that must be a relief.

Mc3209 · 21/04/2020 18:11

@SamK93 yes, I had it done privately. My first, and I surprised myself with how anxious I am about this pregnancy. Wanted all reassurance I could get!

@1990shopefulftm I find it so cool that even at this early stage they can fish out enough baby DNA from of maternal blood to give all this information!

OP posts:
Mc3209 · 21/04/2020 18:14

@WaveStreet I had a hunch it was a boy based on absolutely nothing 😂 so the hunch was confirmed!

OP posts:
SamK93 · 21/04/2020 18:18

@Mc3209 I totally understand I don't blame you! Im glad everything came back okay 💙 I originally wanted a private scan in between but it obviously isn't possible in the current climate so will just have to wait patiently until June's scan!

DressingGown87 · 21/04/2020 18:34

@Mc3209 Aww congratulations on your little boy and results! Can't believe they picked it up so soon, and that your hunch was correct. We will have to see how many girls / boys come out of this thread.

Has anyone else got any hunches? My hunch is GIRL

@SamK93 congratulations on your scan. Have you done the nub theory or anything? or have a hunch? I'm not sure about glucose testing sorry, FTM and pretty clueless.

@Danielle95lab At least your having the extra scans. My next ones is on the 10th (feels ages away) and then the 1st. Try not to worry too much between, and understand that other than looking after yourself, there is nothing else you can do to control your body.

SamK93 · 21/04/2020 18:41

@DressingGown87 aww bless, well thank you! I can't really see a nub in the picture, I would upload it but I think because I'm new it won't let me put it up lol! I'll try again tomorrow.

1990shopefulftm · 21/04/2020 18:43

@DressingGown87 I don't have a hunch either way and I don't think my scan picture is clear enough to do nub theory as baby had its legs up.

Jaffas22 · 21/04/2020 18:48

@DressingGown87 Iv thought girl all along, but today I’m 80% certain I seen a little tail when she was showing me the parts of baby!! I didn’t dare say anything though incase I was wrong but it’s definitely swayed my thoughts! I’m itching to know for sure!

Lolllyf · 21/04/2020 18:49

@Mc3209 congrats! I am also having a boy! I am from a family of girls so I had always thought about having a girl but no choice in this! I bought some cute outfits online when I found out last week.

Glooorb · 21/04/2020 18:59

@Mc3209 did you also do the NHS 12 week scan? I did the 12 week scan and came back low risk but I am still umming and ahhing over whether to do the harmony test "just in case". And also contratulations!!

EmmaA96 · 21/04/2020 19:01

@Mc3209 Aww congrats how lovely 💙

@DressingGown87 I am swaying towards boys find out in a few weeks if I’m right 🙈

Glooorb · 21/04/2020 19:18

@Danielle95lab I also have low PAPP-A at 0.36 - it was scary googling! (I can't help it!) they haven't said anything about additional scans to me though. I've been referred to a consultant obstetrician anyway due to other issues (existing health issues and anti E antibody) so the midwife said I should consult with the obstetrician as she isn't able to read blood results definitively. I never knew pregnancy could be this anxiety inducing...

Mc3209 · 21/04/2020 19:27

@Glooorb I have my NHS scan this Friday when I will be 12+6. Knowing myself I always knew I was going to do Harmony for the sake of my sanity.

OP posts:
Danielle95lab · 21/04/2020 20:03

@Glooorb mines at 0.28 so maybe that's why I have extra scans. Not sure. Let me know what you find out though and if you get offered anything else. I'm riddled with more anxiety now, even though I know it's out of hands 🤦🏻‍♀️xxx
