@Csmore I hope it's better news for you as bleeding can be normal. I had my last period in January too. My pregnancy symptoms went a week before also, though I didn't have many in general. There's too many things that can be normal but also not not normal it's hard to know. But I felt weird for a few days then it steadily got worse. I was the same when I rang epu she days I had to go on my own. My husband came with me and I went in to a&e then to the maternity bit while he waited in the car but a bit later before I had my cervix checked a nurse came in saying my husband was in the waiting area as he was too panicked so they let him stay there. I also went for my scan on my own the same day and he came in and just waited on some chairs near the ward I was on so he could still be there for when I came out.
I would have been due my period around the same day I went in too which is why they thought my period might have just helped finish it off since it had technically happened a month before, my body just didn't know.

Csmore · 18/04/2020 11:59

@1990shopefulftm I have 5 numbers for the maternity clinic and noone will answer any. They rang yesterday (probs to confirm I didnt have symptoms of Corona) but I missed the call and couldnt get back in touch. Need to keep trying but thats REALLY unprofessional as far as im concerned.

@Lynz2020 I cant even being to imagine that pain. My heart is totally breaking for you. Im so sorry! This is my first as well so like you, I dont know whats a normal feeling and what should be checked straight away. I really appreciate though that, with all youre going through, you can still tell me your experience so I know what im generally looking for and what not to worry about. The waiting is painful :/

1990shopefulftm · 18/04/2020 12:07

@Csmore worst case scenario try the labour or maternity ward they were able to transfer me when the midwives wouldn't pick up.

Lynz2020 · 18/04/2020 12:13

@Csmore I would definitely just keep trying the numbers. Do you have your midwife number too?
We didn't tell anyone we were pregnant either and were waiting for the 12 weeks, don't think we will tell anyone either as to not create upset. I'll say the examinations weren't great, in a&e they checked my cervix by using the plastic thing they use for smears then had a vaginal scan to check my womb, I asked If they could do a belly scan and they said they would need to look inside. All this while bleeding is a horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Its been 3 days so far and I'm ok until I think about it, same with my husband, we're currently doing our bathroom so it's something to occupy us. But I do think to help we will try and conceive again as soon as we can x

Hi everyone - I’m new :) I had my first 12 week scan yesterday - it’s my first! Unfortunately my husband couldn’t come in with me due to COVID and I didn’t have a great experience with the sonographer as he was rather grumpy and curt, and had a go at me for tensing up my tummy (I didn’t realise he was going to press THAT hard!) My baby was in a strange position so I had to leave the room and walk around for 10 mins to try and move the baby into a new position which seemed to help.

I got my report and photos (woo makes it so much more real) and the sonographer just said “all fine” and sent me on my merry way. Didn’t really explain the results...

When I came back I noticed that
1- it says that the ultrasound view was restricted by Fetal position
2- my risks for the trisomies are relatively low (1:1300 for T21 and 1:2700 for T13/18) but PAPP-A levels is 0.36MoM (“normal” is apparently 0.5)

Do you think I can trust the scan report? Has anyone had more reassurances from the Harmony Test? I don’t want to second guess a professional - I worry that if the Fetal position is restricted does it affect the “confidence” of the results?

Glooorb · 18/04/2020 12:47

@Csmore I’m so sorry! I hope you can get through on the phone to someone. I do think the support for pregnant ladies can be quite weak - we need that reassurance... have you had any further bleeding? I have read in my pregnancy week by week book that some spotting (pink or brown) is not too much of a concern - if you are heavily bleeding or it’s fresh blood, then it is worth speaking to someone. I hope this reassures you a little!

Glooorb · 18/04/2020 12:49

@Lynz2020 I’m so so sorry. This is my worst nightmare. I hope you take care x

EmmaA96 · 18/04/2020 12:53

@Lynz2020 So sorry to hear! My thoughts are with you and hope you’re keeping well Flowers xx

Csmore · 18/04/2020 13:18

@1990shopefulftm i'll give that a try thanks, its a nightmare! Wouldn't need to be an emergency for some poor soul!!
@Lynz2020 Oh that is grim. I think some well needed tlc is needed for you both as well. Its terrible times we're living in but doing things for yourselves must be top priority. And dont be scared to reach out for support! I know not everyone has it but im sure some family or friends wouldnt hesitate to be there for you and give you the support you need! I dont have a midwife number or anything. I havent seen anyone at all yet. They basically lost me in the system and last week I spent hrs trying to get through to someone to book me an appointment. Dont have a gp either because I moved house and the people I wanted to register with basically are ''too busy'' to take on new patients. Told them I was pregnant too in the hopes it would push things along but no joy.
@Glooorb It does thank you. I havent had any more this morning thankfully. Im just freaking out (hopefully unnecessarily) because I havent been seen by anyone at all yet. Im so so lucky though, my mum is a nurse and although shes not totally familiar with gyne, shes had 3 babies so I have some excellent advice from her both from a medical and parenting perspectives. Also welcome and congrats!! 😁

Glooorb · 18/04/2020 13:27

@Csmore oh that's good news! It's frustrating that we can go so long without seeing anyone until the booking appointment with the midwife, and even worse when they lose you in the system. Hope you get some support soon!

Hello everyone, I've not read all the thread. Please can I join? I'm currently 13 weeks and due 23rd October although I have a history of overbaked babies and am sure I won't go into labour until Halloween!

I just want to say I'm so sorry to those who have had bad news. I'm thinking of you all believe me; I am pregnant after a MMC in October. I hope that offers a ray of light to those dealing with losses right now. Sometimes the journey takes longer but we will all get there in the end x

EmmaA96 · 18/04/2020 17:23

Just back from our scan.. turns out baby number 3 is now number 3 & 4 Shock honestly can’t believe it!!
Pic isn’t the clearest but one lying upside down with their heads together 😍

@EmmaA96 Wow, that's amazing news! Did you have an inkling you are carrying twins at all? I'd love to have twins, but just one for me this time.

DressingGown87 · 18/04/2020 20:18

@EmmaA96 double congratulations to you!! I had twin step sons and their bond was just amazing to watch!

EmmaA96 · 18/04/2020 20:31

Thank you everyone! We are still in shock I don’t think it will sink in until they are here!

@Mc3209 Not at all... the exact same nausea in the mornings I had with my girls! So surreal!

KitKatKit · 19/04/2020 11:56

Hey everyone, how are we doing? Is anyone else still feeling really tired? I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and this weekend I feel like I've been hit by a bus. I've been indoors for a month (excluding daily exercise), WFH full time from home, but don't think I'm "overdoing it" per se. I'm getting loads of sleep, at least 9 hours a night if not more.
Part of me is telling me that I need to get a grip but I just feel so exhausted! Anyone else?!

LadyB90 · 19/04/2020 12:24

@KitKatKit
Yes I'm still exhausted and my morning sickness hasn't improved either! Was hoping it would all improve in the second trimester, so here's to hoping it will get better over the next week or so! (I'm 13 weeks on Tuesday)

DressingGown87 · 19/04/2020 13:03

@KitKatKit yep felt like I couldn’t get up this morning, and all I want to do is nap! Same as you WFH, and pottering around the house doing jobs. I’ve put it down to waking up early everyday! And being up and down for a wee all night... I also was hoping for the burst of energy now that approaching 14 weeks!

1990shopefulftm · 19/04/2020 13:03

@KitKatKit yeah i ve been tired since 5 weeks and it doesn't ease off much.

Danielle95lab · 19/04/2020 13:08

How's everyone's back feeling? Had mild pain in the early weeks, now it's come back again. Not strong enough for paracetamol but just a very mild dull ache xxx
