Just had my scan 12+5 and my harmony test results all normal! Big relief. It was a good experience at the hospital, the chairs are all spread out in the waiting area, no partners or kids allowed which meant it was quiet.

FirstTimeBumps · 15/04/2020 11:25

@LittleFriendy we haven't and aren't haha. Going to keep quiet for as long as physically possible then appear the size of a semi detached house like suprise I'm pregnant due next week 🤣 but I'm evil. Sent my scans of to the nub techs. Came back inconclusive 😑

LadyB90 · 15/04/2020 11:34

@LittleFriendy
We've told people over facetime as wanted to spread some happy thoughts amongst all the stress at the mo. Would've preferred to have told them in person of course

@FirstTimeBumps
Congrats on your scan! Great pic, must be a relief to know that everything is ok.

Mc3209 · 15/04/2020 11:40

@FirstSurprise001 and @FirstTimeBumps Those scan pics are awesome! I am very glad everything went well Smile

@LittleFriendy Welcome and congratulations! I told my parents over the phone same day I got BFP, but we live in different countries so didn't have much choice. I think I told my close friends over the phone too (even though we live in the same city).. was too excited to plan anything elaborate and just couldn't hold it in.

@Lolllyf I am so glad your results are normal. Now you can relax a little. Imagine, 1st trimester is almost over!

@LittleFriendy I told them over the phone at 8 weeks as I d had a private scan that day, I wanted their support if something goes wrong and thought it might lift some people's sprits.

KitKatKit · 15/04/2020 13:52

@Lolllyf Oh great news! Very happy for you!

@LittleFriendy Welcome! We did exactly that, stood at the end of my parents driveway and told them! I didn't want to tell them over video call, and they have a huge driveway so there was plenty of distance between us all. Anybody else has been told over video call. Do whatever feels right for you!

@FirstTimeBumps I would love to be a fly on the wall when you finally emerge and your friends and family see you haha :)

Lolllyf · 15/04/2020 14:28

Thanks @Mc3209 @kitkatkit !

Felt like it would never get to this point! first trimester has really really dragged on.

DressingGown87 · 15/04/2020 14:31

Welcome @LittleFriendy I told my mum when lockdown happened, and us pregnant ladies where told to “stay home” I live on my own, and I’m high risk so thought she better know, as she’s my next of kin. My dad has been in hospital (him and my mum are together but he’s like a giddy kid) with COVID, he is out of ITCU now. I was so upset that I hadn’t told him when he was taken in, so glad I could tell him even though this is just by a text.

I’ve told some of my friends via video call and my sisters. But to the rest of the world, I’m just emerging with the lockdown bulge! 😂

@lolly congratulations on your scan and results! Did they get your blood back quick? Or did they take them previously?

Lolllyf · 15/04/2020 16:01

@DressingGown87 no I had the non-invasive blood test (harmony) done privately before and those results have come back as very low risk for syndromes it checks for. I still had the NHS screening bloods and 12 wk scan done today but I don’t think I needed to have those done.

Danielle95lab · 15/04/2020 16:07

Well what an experience today was. Bloody baby wouldn't stop moving, was upside down the lot. 12+1 so due dates moved to the 27th October. Feel like I'm over a big hurdle now, the first milestone done🥰

Gender guesses welcome cause I don't have a clue. Hope you're all okay 💕xxx

My back and hips are getting a bit more uncomfortable, wondering if I should get a belly band as I have horrendous posture.

DressingGown87 · 15/04/2020 16:39

@Danielle95lab aww wonderful scan picture! I would guess girl, but that is purely a guess! Mine came back girl on the nub theory. X

@Lolllyf ahh that’s good then! Glad you’ve come back all clear x

Danielle95lab · 15/04/2020 16:42

@DressingGown87 aw thank you!! I'm going to submit it to the nub theory website now. Only cheap so might as well, bit of fun!xx

1990shopefulftm · 15/04/2020 16:55

@Danielle95lab that's a lovely picture. I wonder how accurate Nub theory is, it ll be interesting to see if it was right when we get our 20 week scans done.

Danielle95lab · 15/04/2020 16:56

@1990shopefulftm probably isn't that accurate, but like you said will be interesting to see if they got it right at 20 week scan! 😂

DressingGown87 · 15/04/2020 17:02

I thought that, but then thought for the price it’s a bit of fun. You’ll hAve to let me know what they say. This was my result.

@1990shopefulftm you going to do it?

FirstTimeBumps · 15/04/2020 17:15

@DressingGown87 they refunded me because my scan was inconclusive ☹️ @1990shopefulftm my hips are ruined already. Convinced I'm suffering from PGP already. Been in tears twice this week with it 😭

1990shopefulftm · 15/04/2020 17:23

@DressingGown87 yeah, i ll give it a go after my scan on Tuesday morning. If it's wrong then it's not much of a loss.

@FirstTimeBumps I've been paranoid I could be getting PGP too, sorry to hear you've been in tears.
I've flinched and had to breathe through getting up and down the stairs a lot of the time and had DH help me off the sofa. Sometimes I'll get comfortable and then need to go to the bathroom with all the water so i hate to think what my bladder will be like later on.

FirstTimeBumps · 15/04/2020 17:31

@1990shopefulftm it's a pain isn't it. Dying of thirst but don't want to drink coz I'll need to go the loo more. I had it, along with sciatica last time but it feels worse this time, although no sciatica at the moment. Bit pants because I'm assuming there's zero chance of a referral to physio at the moment, not that I'd want to go and take the risk whilst we're still on lockdown.

1990shopefulftm · 15/04/2020 17:36

@FirstTimeBumps physio referrals are horrendous wait times in my area so i wouldn't bother asking for me.

I'm lucky in that I have a limited health plan so I do have enough left for one more private physio appointment as I've had to use it twice for my knees. I can't get a phone appointment covered on my health plan though and understandably they're only doing those at the clinic I use at the moment so trying to hang in there at the moment.
Hope it gets easier for you.

Freddie1987 · 15/04/2020 18:20

Hi ladies, been a bit quiet only because I wanted to get my scan out the way first but had it earlier today and wow, what a relief that everything seems fine so far!! @Danielle95lab I was exactly the same, little shrimp was wriggling around doing headstands or something so had to go and walk around for 20 mins and eat an ice cream (apparently the sugar helps) then when I went back it was lying back chilling 😂Grin

Did anyone else get a weird feeling they could sense gender by looking at the screen! I have a stronger feeling towards girl now...will have a go at nub theory website though and report back!

Danielle95lab · 15/04/2020 18:26

@Freddie1987 were they digging the ultrasound wand into you really hard? I have a funny feeling my stomachs going to be bruised tomorrow she killed me😂😂

My nub theory came back 85% girl but I'm still sure it's a boy from my gut haha

Freddie1987 · 15/04/2020 18:37

@Danielle95lab omg yes, I thought I was going to wet myself at first! Haha. Did they get you to lie on your side and wiggle your hips around and stuff? So funny seeing it dancing away! My due date has also been brought forward by 3 days, 23rd October now Smile

Danielle95lab · 15/04/2020 18:57

@Freddie1987 Yes exactly that! I was in every position going 😂 the perks of pregnancy haha. Just another several million weeks until 20 week scan now haha. I'll probably cave and get 16 week gender reveal cause I'm so impatient xxx
