@DressingGown87 wonderful pictures! Glad everything was fine on your scan. It great seeing them wriggle, isn't it? I can't quite see the nub, so not going to guess re gender as it will be a wild guess in the dark 😬

@DressingGown87 their wonderful pictures, the waving must have been great to see.

I m sorry that the appointment afterwards wasn't great and that they didn't say anything about the fainting, hope that it gets easier for you.
I m glad to hear they didn't charge for the pictures as I ve been wondering whether I needed to find cash for some just in case.

UpsyDaisy1234 · 14/04/2020 16:15

@DressingGown87 Beautiful pictures of baby. I'm glad that your scan went well. Hoping that your bloods come back good too. Now you can relax and look after yourself & your liitle bean.

UpsyDaisy1234 · 14/04/2020 16:20

@Helly88 Welcome back! I am glad that you feeling alright now. Fingers crossed for your scan on friday.

SophieJosie95 · 14/04/2020 16:47

@DressingGown87 glad everything went well lovely!

@BS9790 I had my scan today & was told I'm retroverted and they have to apply a LOT of pressure to get angles. It didn't hurt but with the full bladder I did wince a bit. MW said she's not known it to affect births though (I asked).

So yeah I had my scan today too! I thought I was 12+6 going off first day of my last period but I'm 13+2 with due date of 18th October!

Nuchal measurement was 2.2mm and the sonographer said they only worry if it's 3.5mm or higher. As mentioned above I have a retroverted uterus which may explain my vaginismus/(tmi but struggle with tampons) honestly having a DUH moment now haha.

Just waiting for my blood results to come back to rule out Edwards/Pataus/downs.

Little one was stood on its head during the scan so I had to wait and go back in and it moved into its neck haha.

So glad it's measuring well since I've lost weight with my Hyperemesis.

Hope you're all well! Thanks

@DressingGown87 really pleased the scan went well, it's weird seeing such a lot of movement when you're unaware of it isn't it! You could always give your midwife a ring about the fainting when she might not be so busy.

DressingGown87 · 14/04/2020 17:28

Thank you everyone! I feel relieved, and a little bit excited now. Not making any formal announcements. My 20 week scan is on the 2nd June, so may do the coming out of lockdown, and piled on the pounds post. 😂

@1990shopefulftm thank you. She said the touch screen scan machine has been taken out of use. So she offered me one free picture in the room, and showed me some to pic from. I couldn’t decide or work out which was best, so she printed them all off, and said hide them in your bag 😂

@flora20 my three midwifes (that I’ve been assigned) are all off sick. But hoping they will call on Thursday, like they are meant to, so I can discuss my dizziness. But completely understanding they are under significant pressure at the minute.

@Mc3209 I’ve sent it off to the nub techs. I know it’s only a light hearted bit of fun. But seen as I’m not spending money on gin, the £6 wasn’t much. It’s come back as 95% girl. 😬

@SophieJosie95 congratulations on your scan! I’m with you on the wait for the bloods now. They are monkeys, every time she got the right position it would roll over!

1990shopefulftm · 14/04/2020 17:37

@DressingGown87 sounds like a very kind sonographer :) if I can have one picture I ll be happy. Fingers crossed this lockdown is over in June.

ABandalittleone · 14/04/2020 18:41

Hi all

Been sitting back and reading in silence for the last few weeks but thought I'd now drop in and say hi after having my first scan last Wednesday. Was a little daunted by having to go to the hospital on my own (I'd had my initial booking appointment just before the lockdown and my husband was able to join me at that) but felt at ease on being seen almost as soon as I arrived and given 3 photos free of charge because of the whole situation. I still hadn't been allowing myself to totally believe we were expecting our first baby until that scan so was pleased the sonographer told me almost immediately that there was a heartbeat and one baby.

From a while back I saw mention of a private facebook group, anyone know how I can get added to it please?

Thanks and happy journey for the next 6 months everyone Smile

ShoMo · 14/04/2020 19:09

Hi everyone! Is it ok if I join? I’m 12 weeks pregnant with baby no. 3. I have two boys already, 4 and 6. Dating scan is this Fri, and feeling a little anxious. EDD at the moment is 27th October. Best wishes to you all 😊

1990shopefulftm · 14/04/2020 19:36

@ABandalittleone hello, glad your scan went well :)

@ShoMo of course you can join :)

KitKatKit · 14/04/2020 19:54

@DressingGown87 Oh amazing news! So happy for you and glad the scan was a success (but the after bit doesnt sound so good). Hope you can rest easy tonight.

@SophieJosie95 fab pics! Mine was also on its head when I went for a scan, the sonographer got me to raise my pelvis off the bed completely and jiggle my bum a bit to wake it up! Weirdest thing ever but it worked haha.

Welcome new ladies, nice to have you onboard!

FirstSurprise001 · 14/04/2020 20:27

@DressingGown87 @SophieJosie95 I’m so glad your scan’s went well today!

Finally just sat down after packing up the house for the big move tomorrow (I don’t do things by halves!) and wanted to add my little bubba to today’s scan pictures! I’m with you both on this one wriggling around and kicking it’s little arms and legs around.

Despite a bit of waiting it was well worth the time and got a couple of pictures for free! Measured the nuchal at 1.8mm and a couple of days over what they thought previously so now at a due date of 21st October! Just awaiting the blood test results now!

So so happy!! 🥰

Although - 5lbs gained in a month 😱 I’m blaming isolation baking!

Hope everyone else’s scans go really well this week! Xx

So lovely hearing about scans so far and seeing the gorgeous pictures ❤️ feels like an age til my scan next Wednesday!

Hope everyone's feeling OK. Been all over the place today just an emotional wreck for no reason! DH got us out for a dog walk this afternoon which has helped I think.

DressingGown87 · 14/04/2020 22:15

@1990shopefulftm I’m sure you’ll get one picture Atleast ☺️

@ABandalittleone and @ShoMo welcome! I think the Facebook group was set up by one of the other October groups. I don’t know who joined and how.

@FirstSurprise001 congratulations and amazing scan photos! It’s so funny all the movements, that we just can’t feel right now. Good luck with your house move.

@WaveStreet hope your feeling ok, glad the walk helped. Hopefully your scan will come around quickly

FirstTimeBumps · 15/04/2020 06:45

@DressingGown87 happy to hear it all went well! Got mine this morning at 9.10. nervous 😬

DressingGown87 · 15/04/2020 07:29

@firsttimebumps hope it all goes well for you. Atleast it’s an early morning x

LadyB90 · 15/04/2020 07:31

@FirstTimeBumps
Good luck, let us know how it goes!
Mine is tomorrow, literally soo anxious I haven't been able to sleep for the past week or so, the wait is hard!

FirstTimeBumps · 15/04/2020 07:42

Thank you! Just walking to the hospital now. I have a litre of water with me that I'm just going to down when I get there. Threw up this morning for only the second time although the nausea has been pretty consistent

UpsyDaisy1234 · 15/04/2020 09:29

@FirstTimeBumps Goodluck!

FirstTimeBumps · 15/04/2020 09:35

All good! I'm 12+5. Baby was wiggling away and not cooperating 🤣 finally got the measurements after several wiggles and jiggles. They're now trying to hunt down my notes which should have been left for me as I hadn't had a face to face booking appt x

KitKatKit · 15/04/2020 09:59

@firsttimebumps fab news! And such a cute scan Star

DressingGown87 · 15/04/2020 10:31

@FirstTimeBumps aww congratulations! They all seem to not being cooperative at the minute 😂 hope they find your notes, and you get home soon x

LittleFriendy · 15/04/2020 10:44

Hello all, hope you don’t mind me joining and hope you’re all well.
I found you after googling “husband missing scan” as wanted to speak with people in a similar situation! I was gutted when the midwife said he wouldn’t be at our first scan but I’ve come to terms with it now. It’s this Friday and he’s going to wait outside, someone was able to film it at our local hospital. So hoping they let me too.
We haven’t told anyone due to the current situation, doesn’t feel right to tell our parents they’ll be grandparents stood on their drive and being unable to hug, strange situation. Not how I imagined my first pregnancy to be! How did you announce yours to family during the current situation?

LittleFriendy · 15/04/2020 10:45

Ps congratulations all
