Morning girl! Oh good luck @bluemoon2468 for scan ❤️ I bought the snuzpod 3 was down to that or next to me Chicco. It’s bigger and comes off to use as Moses with storage underneath so I got it and was delivered in three days! Girls, raging with partner. He bought a bottle of rum yest and had drank almost half by time i went to bed, I told him to calm it and have woken up to see he finished it! Also never came to bed till 5 am!!! It would have been his father’s birthday today(he passed 2 yrs ago) think it’s just that, let it go? He has been drinking maybe 4 pint size cans of cider on a Sat, my worry is he’s just upping it!!! What should I do? Thanks xx

@Treacle81, tricky one. I'd be inclined to think it's due to it being the anniversary and maybe give him the weekend. If he seems in the mood to talk or discuss it maybe try asking if the amount is because of that. After the weekend I'd keep an eye to check it's not an escalating issue. But hopefully it's a one/weekend off.

The stress of lockdown could be adding if he'd otherwise be visiting family, etc. Flowers

LexiM · 02/05/2020 13:26

@treacle81 sorry you are having a hard time, I’m afraid I don’t really have any useful advice but didn’t want to ignore you. I think if it was the anniversary of his fathers death I would leave it this time but bring it up if continues. I have seen online there is an increase in people drinking more during lockdown which is worrying but not surprising really when there isn’t much to do. Generally is it just weekend drinking for him?

Just a question for everyone with the snuzpod - I presume it isn’t height adjustable so does it just pull up to your bed but isn’t always flush with the mattress (when the side is down?) as surely it depends on the bed? We have an Ikea bed.

Happy scan day @bluemoon2468 - our Window to Womb doesn’t let partners in at the moment so it seems to vary from branch to branch.

@Spark27 my bump also seemed smaller this morning but has changed again now so I am trying to be rational and just think it depends on how I lie, what I eat etc. I mean my stomach was never exactly the same size all the time before I was pregnant.

My husband excelled himself with his maternity top purchases, they are all great. He got me a floaty red top and more fitted blue stripe t-shirt from New Look. I definitely have some bump growing to do to fully fit the T-shirt but that’s good and It’s so comfy. He also got me two ribbed vests from Topshop which grow with the bump so fit now too. I’ve decided I will just go for basics with tops, jeans and maybe the odd dress for maternity, I don’t want to spend loads of money especially when we aren’t likely to really see anyone now. My current tops are just starting to get on the short side, so I expect I will be popping out of them within a month.

esmerelda1988 · 02/05/2020 13:48

Hey everyone hope you're all well Smile
For anyone having potential movements, what are these feeling like? Im only 18 weeks and feeling quite strong 'bubbles' when lying down, I'd have dismissed it as wind but it's repetitive in the same place and quite a different feeling. Exciting!

And for anyone who did nub tech, mine was 85% a girl and it's confirmed now, be interesting to see how many were on the money.

Spark27 · 02/05/2020 13:54

Oooh @esmeralda1988, that sounds exciting. I got 85% likelihood of a girl with Nub Techs too. I'll hopefully let you know on wednesday.
Congratulations on your little girl

That sounds about right for first movements. It remember thinking the first movements with my DD felt like bubbles and popping. With this one its feeling like a lava lamp moving around

esmerelda1988 · 02/05/2020 13:57

Thanks @Spark27 yes just like bubbles popping! I think I've been having them about a week now thinking about it but I dismissed it initially as its my first and I thought it was too early. It's a nice extra reassurance baby is ok in there anyway.

bluemoon2468 · 02/05/2020 14:14

@Lucylou37 they're only offering one type of scan atm - a fetal health check - but if you're over 16 weeks they will tell you the gender as part of that scan. They say it can't be your main motivation for attending but they'll tell you 😊

MrsD1990 · 02/05/2020 14:15

@Lucylou37 I'm due on October 3rd too! I've been looking out for movements but I think all I've felt is gas.

@Treacle81 sorry you're having a hard time! Just from my own experience (you know your husband best so feel free to ignore) I think you should speak to him about it to but not go hard on him. It's the 3 year anniversary of my dad's death today - I find his death and birthday quite hard but this year is the first year I've been able to manage to get through the day normally (I think a combination of the pregnancy and it falling on a weekend this year has helped) still found myself crying in the shower this morning though. I only mention this because I think people cope with grief in different ways and anniversaries are so difficult. He might not want to talk at all but it's worth a try. If he starts drinking a bottle of rum as a habit though I would have a word. My mum says she's going to blow bubbles into the sky to commemorate dad which I think is lovely - we're going to light a candle and I might write him a message 😊

bluemoon2468 · 02/05/2020 14:18

My scan is at 5pm, will let you all know later on how it goes! We're not telling anyone else we know the sex, but I guess as it's anonymous I'll let you guys on here know - how odd! According to nub theory it's a little girl so it'll be interesting to see whether it was right!

roarfeckingroar · 02/05/2020 14:37

Scan in ten minutes!!!

Treacle81 · 02/05/2020 15:03

Thanks so much for your advice girls, god I’m so glad I have you all! Oh good luck to you too @roarfeckingroar ❤️ The snuzpod has several height adjustments so will fit variety of beds I imagine. He woke up, I just let him sleep in, came straight into living room and said he’s struggling missing his dad but he promises me he won’t drink as much again. Phew! I think with it being his first child and knowing his father won’t get to see it, makes it extra hard. Thanks again girls! We’re away a walk in this lovely weather - enjoy your day xx

We're having a baby boy!

Spark27 · 02/05/2020 15:22

Congratulations @roarfeckingroar. So exciting. Let the shopping commence, lol

roarfeckingroar · 02/05/2020 15:24

I know but my stubborn bastard of a partner is adamant he doesn't want to know and it's actually really upset me. I can't see my family and friends to talk about it and get excited and I feel like he's ruining it all by being so adamant he doesn't want to.

bluemoon2468 · 02/05/2020 15:28

@roarfeckingroar congratulations!!! 💙💙💙 Can't imagine trying to keep it from my husband, that will be so hard!

CouscousEvaporator · 02/05/2020 15:37

@Treacle81 ah that really does sound like he’s struggling. I hope he stays always from the drink now he’s grieved a little x

@roarfeckingroar aww congratulations! 💙💙

roarfeckingroar · 02/05/2020 15:41

Thank you ☺️

BntTowers · 02/05/2020 15:44

@roarfeckingroar congratulations 💙

@Treacle81 anniversaries and birthdays are really hard, especially when it's only been a couple of years. It's good he has realised he had gone a bit far. All you can do is be there when he wants to talk. There is always grief counseling if required. Every January I think I need to go, but as it's now been 16 years since I lost my dad it seems a bit silly. Kinda saw as fate that January was the month we conceived, it did take my mind off it. Sometimes the hardest parts are grieving for the loss of having those experiences to share with the missing parent. There's going to be a few difficult moments, but it will get easier day to day, although it will still come in crushing blows at times. My grief does anyway.

@Quiffy I'm feeling ok today, I ended up going to bed at 4.30 and only came down to eat and stay downstairs for about half an hour then back up to bed. I think I needed a lot of rest. DH has gone to do the food shopping now so I'm glad to have some time to myself.

CouscousEvaporator · 02/05/2020 15:50

@roarfeckingroar just seen your next message? Did he say he wanted to know before the scan? If so that’s a bit unfair ☹️
There is no way I would be able to not let it slip!!

otterbaby · 02/05/2020 16:23

@roarfeckingroar congrats! 💙 hopefully your DP changes his mind 😕

Zaalfruit · 02/05/2020 17:09

@roarfeckingroar congratulations ( wanted to stay away but couldn’t help my self) .

Stay positive and enjoy it - don’t let Dh bring you off cloud 9 he will regret it later that he upset you on a special period of your pregnancy 🤰

Buzz22 · 02/05/2020 17:50

@esmerelda1988 congrats on baby girl 💕

@roarfeckingroar congrats on baby boy 💙

We had our private scan today and were told ours was the most uncooperative baby she had scanned in 30 years!
I jumped around, jogged on the spot, baby moved but kept its bits firmly hidden for the 25 minutes! She said she can normally sneak at least 1 view on even stubborn babies but nope!
She did say she was leaning girl but not to buy any pink yet! Nub techs told me 85% chance girl, but will have to wait till 20 week scan and see if baby is more helpful then!

Main thing is plenty of fluid...my main concern after last time. Measuring fine, infact babys thighs measured 30% longer than average for this gestation. She said...woah those are some long legs! DP is 6ft2 and I'm 5ft10 so not surprised. And very pleased my DP could come to a scan, he loved it.

bluemoon2468 · 02/05/2020 18:09

Another very healthy little boy over here! 💙 We are over the moon! Nub theory totally incorrect for us 🤷🏼‍♀️

Early Oct babies part 3!
Spark27 · 02/05/2020 18:14

Congratulations @Buzz22. Shame the baby had its legs crossed though. But least theres not too long to wait to see if you get a shot next time. And yay everything is ok.

@bluemoon2468, congratulations on your little boy. You've thrown me on it being a boy though. Haha. I'll have to see if they were right for me or not.

bluemoon2468 · 02/05/2020 18:30

@Spark27 you could have knocked me over with a feather! I was so shocked!
