I had that last time and would send my DH pics of it saying 'what the hell is this?' Not really noticed it this time but that could be cos my body is more wobbly and it's all been stretched/moved around down there already.
When I lie on my side in bed I do get a harder lump to one side though

LexiM · 29/04/2020 18:05

Thanks for the well wishes, feeling ok today minus slightly bruised leg! I had my midwife appointment and had to wear a mask and have my temperature checked to enter the building. The midwife said they aren’t insisting on the wearing of masks for patients but the surgery does and is the only one doing it out of the ones she works at.

I got to hear and record the heartbeat which I am so grateful for. It took her what felt like ages to find it as he/she kept moving. She said there is only one appointment they aren’t doing now later on but they’ve slightly adjusted the other ones to take this into account so I’m happy with that and feel so grateful to live in the area I do because it seems to be from chat on here that it’s pot luck based on where you live.
She said they don’t know anymore information long term on the situation than we do however she talked like she expects it to be this way for a while yet including no antenatal classes and I said I was doing positive birth company online which she said would be a good alternative.

In terms of the lop-sided bump, I wonder if it’s just that your uterus isn’t central? The midwife felt my stomach earlier and said the bump was good and the uterus had moved up.

bluemoon2468 · 29/04/2020 19:34

@Aquablue1123 my guess is that that's where my placenta is attached and therefore at this stage the baby is over on one side. I'm hoping that as it grows it'll move to a more central position!

bluemoon2468 · 29/04/2020 19:37

@Aquablue1123 after a quick Google, I think it's called Piskacek uterus - it's completely harmless

Indigogirl88 · 29/04/2020 19:40

Yeah I'm looking forward to finding out where my placenta is....
Awww that's lovely @LexiM I hope I get to record the heartbeat

Has anyone been watching that Life & Birth on BBC1? It's a totally quite interesting haha not for dp though

BooMamaBear · 29/04/2020 19:51

I lay on my left side a my night coz it's best for the baby and when I wake up my bump even looks lopsided my left is much bigger than the right when I get up she usually goes back to the middle so it looks even again!! Xx

LostinAusten2 · 29/04/2020 20:11

Congrats @LexiM on your midwife appointment 😊 and sorry to everyone suffering with anxiety - have exactly the same here and try to use Headspace to unwind but it’s not easy. Also really not getting on with my boss at work and lockdown helps but his daft emails still make me rage when I’m trying to be all calm and sensible 🙄

Aquablue1123 · 30/04/2020 03:37

@LexiM So happy for you on your midwife visit.

@BooMamaBear I will have a little read on that! I'm glad it's not just me.

Aquablue1123 · 30/04/2020 03:39

@bluemoon2468 sorry I tagged boomama instead xxx thank you for googling

Zaalfruit · 30/04/2020 06:03

Morning everyone- hope everyone is alright ?

It feels like weeks ago I saw the heart beat or the baby - just waiting impatiently now - also getting so much pain on my sides. I’m hoping it’s just my muscles stretching . Ooh never heard of piskacet uterus - as I have no real bump yet I just google bump pics and I have found out that there is a thing called a b bump as the bump looks like the shape of a B and that women want a bump that looks like a D .

Aquablue1123 · 30/04/2020 07:11

@Zaalfruit haha love a bit of useless info! I heard also that bumps can grow inward 🤔🤔 not sure how true this is.

Yeh I'm sure it's your skin stretching for baby. Yeh I know what you mean, I have another 3 weeks for the 20 weeks scan and I can't wait to hear the heart beat again.
I still haven't felt any kicks yet (I don't think) can't wait for that to happen. 😬

I weighed myself and I've put a kg on but dropped cms around the hips and waist which I find strange 🤷🏼‍♀️.

BntTowers · 30/04/2020 07:31

I had another rubbish night's sleep. No nightmares this time though.

My scan isn't for 4 weeks and a day :( which means it's only been 3 weeks since my last one and it feels like it was ages ago. I'm finding the weeks are going so slowly at the moment. It will be better this time next week when the 3 and 4 weeks are reversed. At least then I will be past the half way mark.

@LostinAusten2 I get stupid emails from my boss too. The other day it was "when is so-so report crossed off, it was sent last week". My answer "because it was sent last week..."

Indigogirl88 · 30/04/2020 07:34

Morning ladies I was up at 3am again this morning but fell back asleep on the sofa snuggling the dog Grin

I've been getting them pains as well @Zaalfruit and I'm not sure I've felt kicks yet @Aquablue1123 either I keep relaxing in bed to try and feel something but I dont think I have so I'll be glad to see the heartbeat.

I feel like I've really worried myself about the 20w scan, and all the potential things they can find. I've done quite a bit of reading but at least it's good to know before going so I'm fully prepared. I'm much more nervous about this scan than the 12w scan. Mines on the 21st

LexiM · 30/04/2020 08:06

Thanks everyone.

I think this section of the pregnancy is going slower for me, I was quite patient at first and waiting for the 12 week scan and it came round really quickly. I can’t wait to hear about your scans coming up, I’ve got 4 and half weeks til mine. I know it was sensible to go for the sonographer advice but impatient me wishes my scan was nearer 20 weeks! @indigogirl88 I’m more nervous about this scan too, although I don’t really know why. Not sure if it’s maybe just being at home more I have more time to think about it.

I have been getting the stretching lots too recently, midwife said it was normal. Yesterday I ate a reasonable dinner and I just felt so stretched it was uncomfortable and reminded me why I’ve been eating less.

LostinAusten2 · 30/04/2020 08:38

Thanks @BntTowers - genuinely comforting to know it’s not just my git-boss 😊

Quiffy · 30/04/2020 10:36

@LexiM Glad 16 week went well - so lovely to hear heartbeat

Indigogirl88 · 30/04/2020 11:47

Yep 3 weeks today till my scan, then the fun starts. Buying, planning and telling work etc. I've got a massive craving for super noodles today 😂

Zaalfruit · 30/04/2020 12:05

@LostinAusten2 and @BntTowers at work I have been reassigned to some new work and I think it’s silly because it’s new work that I have to learn for no reason . It’s so hard as well. My manger sends lots of positivity email as well which just shows she has no real work as she has assigned me her work load.

Feeling really hungry today - I am craving sweets

otterbaby · 30/04/2020 12:18

Just had my 16 week appt over the phone. What a waste of time! She was 40 mins late ringing me and then the phone call barely lasted 10 mins. Was working through my list of questions and next thing she was like "okay, nice speaking to you, speak soon!" Only info I really got was booking in my whooping cough jab and my 25 week appt date...and all appts going forward will be in person. Trying to stay positive about being pregnant and having reduced care because of COVID but feeling a little bit left behind after that 😕

BooMamaBear · 30/04/2020 12:58

I feel your pain regarding scans mine is 2 weeks on Tuesday and its taking forever!! I just want to know everything is ok and the baby is growing as she should be! We have used the doppler a few times (my dad who is a GP showed my DH how to use and read it properly tho we don't rely on it) but I want to see her Xxx

Buzz22 · 30/04/2020 14:34

@otterbaby sorry to hear your appointment left you feeling down. I have my 16 week appointment with midwife over the phone tomorrow. Was assuming it will be fairly pointless anyway.

In good news DP managed to find a private ultrasound he can attend and booked it for this Saturday so that's giving us something to look forward too! They called it a reassurance scan and said they aren't doing the usual gender scans but I'm hoping if they can see the gender they will tell us anyway.
I have a cervical length scan on the 15th and they usually do a tummy scan first so you can have a peak at the baby. My 20 week scan is on the 22nd May. Feeling lucky I have 2 scans before then as I know it would feel aaaaaages away like you ladies are saying.
Still feeling massively anxious as we got our bad news at 20 week scan before, but trying to remain optimistic as everything has been much smoother sailing so far this time.

Other than that I'm feeling remarkably well. Feel very sorry for those of you who are still suffering from sickness. The heartburn and bloated feeling is continuing but I can live with that provided I have gaviscon nearby! Surprising myself by managing to do some exercise every day. No idea what's come over me. Feeling full of energy. Is this the Joy's of the 2nd trimester you hear about?

Spark27 · 30/04/2020 15:07

Can you send some energy and joy this way @Buzz22, I'm feeling decidedly fed up today. Think it's a combination of the lockdown and the weather. It just feels like groundhog day at the moment. And I worry that I haven't got the energy to entertain my DD anymore so that's making me feel bad.

Patiently (not) waiting for my scan next wednesday. These last 7 weeks have really dragged. Am getting a bit of movement though so that's relaxing me a bit, but I really want to know baby is ok. And I want to get that done so I can start shopping.

BntTowers · 30/04/2020 15:23

@Quiffy @LostinAusten2 with my boss it's the fact that he is bored, so is sending a hundred emails about stupid little things a day. Fed up of working.

The past few days I've been feeling really full all the time, not being able to eat much and a bit burpy and hiccups. Today I'm feeling all of that plus a little bit like I might be sick. I'm assuming it's all just internal organs being squashed and moved about. I've not heard anything yet about a 16 week phone call appointment. Might wait until mid next week. I know I'm my area they aren't really anything apart from a 10 minute call.

BntTowers · 30/04/2020 15:25

Also has anyone brought anything from www.preciouslittleone.com/

They seem to have some good deals, although I think I'm trying to hold out for a few more weeks to start buying things.

Zaalfruit · 30/04/2020 17:07

@otterbaby the over the phone calls are the worst . It’s like they want it done in 10 mins and be done to say yep actioned the call.

@Spark27 ahh atleast you can feel some movement - I just can’t wait any longer - 2 weeks that’s all I keep saying to myself . I’m hoping it’s still there been scaring myself about my haasimotos can cause loss and stuff like that .
@BntTowers I have seen stuff but to scared to buy anything I feel like if I invest into something then my heart my will be shattered . I can’t enjoy myself anymore till my next scan or till I can feel a kick or flutter or something. I had a sandwich today for lunch and felt so full - it wanted to escape out of me an hour later .
