@Quiffy I like the name Rupert, it's high on our list. DHs only reservation is you don't see little ones being called it then when we were walking there was a father shouting to his little boy Rupert. We haven't decided on any names yet. I've also convinced myself it's a boy, for no reason at all.

I've been feeling terrible today again. My sickness/ burpy feeling went last night until about lunch time today and now it's back and brought hayfever, headache and fatigue with it. I've just had to stop work for now. I may try and do some more for half and hour or so then stop.

I don't understand why people are getting so worked up about other people being pregnant. Especially those of us who got pregnant before the lockdown. Even if you got pregnant during, so what? No body could have predicted this pandemic and to be judged on the fact you are bringing new life into the world even at a time like this should be a blessing and a joy to so many people. People have babies during wars and other terrible times, there's no difference at all.

CouscousEvaporator · 01/05/2020 16:13

@Quiffy I’m also looking at the snuzpod! I like that it rocks next to the bed.

I also don’t get people who care so much about others reproductive organs! I just tell myself it’s the first time in a long line of things that I’ll be judged for as a mum so just don’t take any notice. That being said in real life everyone has just been over the moon for us.

bluemoon2468 · 01/05/2020 16:13

I've been having on and off cramping pains for a couple of weeks now. Midwife says it's nothing and without any bleeding they won't give me an NHS scan, but it's making me so, so anxious that I don't think it can be any good for the baby, so I've booked a private scan for tomorrow at 18+0. DH is allowed to come with me so we'll be able to find out the sex together which will be lovely, and I'll be able to calm down rather than constantly being convinced I'm about to start bleeding. I'm such an anxious wreck at the moment. Not sure if it's the covid lockdown situation or pregnancy hormones or both 😔

Quiffy · 01/05/2020 17:43

@BntTowers @couscousevaporator exactly!! You're right it's going to be another thing we get judged on. Tbh I don't think I would have stopped ttc, I've been waiting 4 years to try waiting for getter finances etc. My heart breaks for all those that were due ivf and have it put on hold and those that were to get other fertility treatments. Babies are meant to bring happiness in times of sadness 😭😭

@CouscousEvaporator I love the rock and the anti reflux stand! I think it looks really nice too, plus the darker one matches my bedroom furniture... 😹😹

@bluemoon2468 that's very exciting over your scan - not so much on cramping but it will be fine and will help put your mind at ease. Do you think boy or girl? 😻😻

bluemoon2468 · 01/05/2020 17:50

@bluemoon2468 convinced it's a girl but I have no idea why! Have been calling her (it!) 'she' in my head for weeks now. Will take some getting used to if it turns out she's a he! Have no preference at all though, so will be over the moon either way 😊

bluemoon2468 · 01/05/2020 17:51

@Quiffy 😆 tagged myself instead of you!

Quiffy · 01/05/2020 17:56

@bluemoon2468 ahhhh it's so exciting. I think finding out sex makes it so real 😻😻😻

bluemoon2468 · 01/05/2020 18:00

@Quiffy I know I cannot wait! Will be lovely when we've named him/her and we can refer by a name! Do you know the sex of yours yet?

Quiffy · 01/05/2020 18:17

@bluemoon2468 not yet, but I'm pretty certain it's a boy. Nub people agree and there's not been in a girl on my DHs side for generations. They have strong boy sperm 😹 will find out end of May 😻

LexiM · 01/05/2020 18:42

@quiffy interesting as my mum was sick for months with us and I’ve felt ok the past couple of weeks - there’s hope for you!

I love the look of the snuzpod but can’t help but think I’m going to have a big baby and it wouldn’t last as long as the Chicco, although looking at mattress sizes there isn’t much in it!

My boss has just let our Directors know I’m pregnant and I asked her to make it clear it’s not a lockdown baby haha totally agree about people not understanding biology!

@BntTowers sorry you are feeling so rubbish again and hope it improves for the weekend. I like the name Rupert, I saw something the other day that said test shouting the name in the school playground, in a club and at work to cover all the ages it needs to suit!

@bluemoon2468 sorry to hear about the cramps that must be worrying, I hope the scan goes well tomorrow and how exciting to find out the sex.

I call our baby a “he” and then my husband is always like don’t you mean “she” 😂 we have no idea!!

BooMamaBear · 01/05/2020 18:56

Loved the Snuzpod so did my DD -if you take it off the a base it can rock so we used to take it down mstairs at nap time and rock her to sleep!! I'd use if this time but we now have a really low bed so it will be too low so I'm gonna use the Moses basket I won on a FB Aldi competition- I won it when DD was too big so not been used yet!! I'll still use the Snuzpod downstairs (all being well)! Xxx

Indigogirl88 · 01/05/2020 19:32

@babymama09 nope not seen mine face to face and it's getting me worried about the heartbeat as well and as @Treacle81 says not felt any movement really so looking forward to the scan!

Indigogirl88 · 01/05/2020 19:37

Dp really wants to find out the sex but I'm not bothered but at the scan I'll see how I feel! The chinese calendar says boy...

@bluemoon2468 I'm getting cramps same here hun trying not to worry either

Got a few baby names I'm loving the old fashioned ones but so is everyone else by all accounts haha!

HerondaleDucks · 01/05/2020 22:00

Ok might sound super weird but has anyone else had crusty nipples? Not like mega crusty... but a bit crusty, like dry skin?

Also loved catching up with everyone's updates.
I keep calling the baby him and have done since the start but for the most part we call him 2 lines.

I think it's a boy. I think I'm set for names though either way but won't know 100% until he's born.

Also been really nauseous today which is new, not felt like this since 8 weeks pregnant. So must be having a growth spurt.

Have a happy weekend all!

LostinAusten2 · 01/05/2020 23:04

Hey happy weekend too 😊

And thanks @BntTowers and @quiffy re the job chat, so glad it’s not just my boss - I do wonder if my being pregnant is making me grumpier than usual, but honestly - if a boss can’t be useful and supportive during a pandemic then there’s not much hope!

And shout out to everyone feeling sick - I really thought I was getting better but this afternoon and evening has been non stop. Even the white bread is letting me down. Roll on the feeling-epic-and-glowing times 🥳

babymama09 · 01/05/2020 23:09

@Quiffy, I am considering it, I gave mhm involved as I suffer with bad anxiety and she's also stated I should contact too. I am trying to not over think due to the current situation we are all in with covid 19 but I cannot help wanting to make sure that baby is healthy and the heart beat is strong etc.
I haven't read what ppl are saying about those who are pregnant or bojo but I said to my DH there will either be lots of pregnancies, divorces or splits during this time or it will make couples realise that they are stronger being round each other. A lot on f couples do not spend 24/7 with their loved ones without wanting to throttle them. I can honestly say it's harder keeping kids entertained.

Not seen the snooze pod will have to have a look. I want to know the sex too I am too scared to predict incase I jinx it. I have chosen names for both so as lobg as baby is healthy I am happy my lol girl wants a sis and my boys want a brother.
How is everyone feeling now? Xx

Glitterbug86 · 01/05/2020 23:23

@bluemoon2468 good luck for your scan tomorrow and enjoy it. You are just right to do it for the reassurance, and lovely your husband will be able to be there with you to find out the sex

Zaalfruit · 01/05/2020 23:54

Good luck to everyone with there upcoming scans.
Everyone got some great tips and good ideas on what to get. I am so stressed about the 20 week scan and my stomach not growing I have decided to take a break all things baby related .

MrsD1990 · 02/05/2020 07:17

Morning all! Hope everyone is alright. I've annoyingly woken up at 6am in a Saturday but at least I slept through the night 😊

@zaalfruit sorry to hear you are stressed - definitely a good idea to take a break. I was really anxious around 6 weeks because of bleeding (which I went on to have for weeks) so I had to stay completely clear of Mumsnet etc during that time just for my own mental health. Do what you need to do ♥️♥️

My nausea finally seems to be easing. If it wasn't for this virus I would definitely be booking a private scan now - husband is against because he says we need to shield which is sensible but I really want to see little bean! I'm 18 weeks today and not seen them since 12 weeks. Feel so impatient and can't help but worry. Hope everything is ok. I haven't felt flutters but not sure what they would feel like... My scan is two weeks on Monday.

CouscousEvaporator · 02/05/2020 07:51

@Zaalfruit I just wanted to reassure you that I’m also lacking in the bump department x
Hope you’re ok

Good luck to those with scans xx

Lucylou37 · 02/05/2020 07:57

Morning ladies! Happy Saturday! So glad it's the weekend! (Even though I'll be at home it's nice not to have the laptop in front of me all the time! Does anyone have any good book recommendations? I have the What to Expect book, but not overly impressed with it!

@MrsD1990 when's your due date? I'm around 3rd October and not felt any flutters or movements yet either.
@bluemoon2468 would you mind letting me know what company your scan is booked through (if it's a national one) a few local to me still won't let partners go! I feel so bad for my other half as it really feels like he's missing out on a huge part of it!

Quiffy · 02/05/2020 09:00

@BntTowers you feeling any better this morning? Rupert is a very cute name!

@LexiM I was worried about size, but the Snuzpod 3 seems to be bigger so going to try and get that one if I can.

@HerondaleDucks I keep getting yellow crust but moisturiser is helping. Pregnancy is attractive 😅

@babymama09 my midwife told me that if I'm feeling anxious phone them up and don't let covid put me off, they'd rather you didn't suffer by yourself. So definitely worth thinking about contacting them ❤️

@Zaalfruit hope you're okay, it's very anxious time waiting until next scan esp when we didn't get 16 week heartbeat. Take care of yourself ❤️

Happy scan day to those going!

I've had a pamper session this morning, dyed my hair, got a face mask on and going to do my nails after house cleaning. I've got a facetime party tonight so don't want to just look chubby and spotty 😅

bluemoon2468 · 02/05/2020 09:31

@Lucylou37 the scan is with Window to the Womb. On their website it says only bring a partner if absolutely necessary - I was like what does that mean? So I called up and she was like yeah your husband can come no problem 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lucylou37 · 02/05/2020 10:23

@@bluemoon2468 oh
Great I have one near me! Which test did you book? Xxx did you get to find out the gender as I know a lot aren't doing that? Xxx

Spark27 · 02/05/2020 10:38

@bluemoon2468, yay for your scan today. Hope all goes well. I was going to book with Window on the Womb after my other one was cancelled, but as we cant take DD it means DH wouldn't have been able to come, so I decided not to bother. Wish I had though. But i only have til wednesday to wait so need to be patient (argghhhhh)

I got woken up at 0600 too, but that was DD wanting to get up and start playing. Groan.

Sorry to all those feeling anxious and worried about movement and bumps. I'm sure everything is fine, but the worry doesnt go away. I woke up this morning thinking that my bump had gone and was now just wobble again. And I'm now constantly worried when I dont feel movement for a bit, which is a pain as it's so minimal this early on anyway. These damn babies are going to be a constant worry now, probably until they're about 40!
