I've been reading Your No Guilt Pregnancy, it's been good, informative about pregnancy.

@LexiM that is super cute, I love it.

I've baked a cake for DHs birthday today and managed to pull my back a little. I'm feeling super bloated today and quite tummy focused. DH has actually started to tell people now and is quite enjoying it. I think it's soon time for a short walk to try and loosen my back a bit and to get some fresh air.

Treaclepie19 · 28/04/2020 14:17

@LexiM he might change his mind when baby arrives 😂
That's so cute! 😍

Honestly ladies don't worry about feeling clueless. Everyone is!
I'd read loads and looked after babies but it's completely different with your own.
I remember the second night home from hospital our first cried all night long. I was on the phone to NICU asking if he needed to be readmitted. Nope. Just a baby!

Aquablue1123 · 28/04/2020 14:18

Oh I definitely need a book haha and for my husband to never ever leave me at the beginning 🤣.

Thanks for the tips everyone! This is why this forum is so useful.

My DH is scared to DTD, he confessed to this last night, which makes me feel a bit better as I thought it was because of my weight gain and vomit glow I've been sporting over the past few months 🤣. I get why he's worried, I am too but it worries me that we may distance ourselves too much during the last 6 months of just being us two when we should be taking advantage of this time. Anyway let's see how it goes 🤦🏼‍♀️.

BooMamaBear · 28/04/2020 16:12

The NCT classes were really good and helped a lot especially with learning how to breastfeed I learnt a lot - they have properly weighted babies for you to practice on - coz I moved house 2 months before my EDD I started the classes a bit late made it to the last one but my waters broke and my contractions started so couldn't stay had to go to hospital ( coz of medical issues I have go as soon as labour starts)! I dunno if there will be any classes running in time tho! It's a 6 week course! Xxx

roarfeckingroar · 28/04/2020 16:15

@Zaalfruit I too have never held a small baby or changed a nappy! Never been around babies, I'm an only child, none of my friends have children... I'm sort of hoping it'll all just come naturally!

otterbaby · 28/04/2020 16:21

@BooMamaBear I've signed up for our local NCT course! It's across 3 Saturdays in July. Might be via video chat at this point but I've heard that they are super helpful.

Is anyone buying things just yet? I've bought a sleepsuit and hat, a 2-pack of muslins, a crocheted rattle and we've just bought a little vibrating seat thing because it was on sale. My mum has said that I should cool it with the buying but I really don't think I've gone that overboard?! We are waiting until our anomaly scan before properly going for it but I don't see anything wrong with starting to pick stuff up now! It's all just so cute Blush

roarfeckingroar · 28/04/2020 16:23

@Indigogirl88 a call would be lovely!

marauder1994 · 28/04/2020 16:33

Turns out my fanny daggers was the beginning of a UTI... defo not a normal symptom then 🤣

LexiM · 28/04/2020 17:28

@Treaclepie19 I know I said to him when you’ve got a screaming baby you might find you will try anything!

@otterbaby I think if you want to buy things and are enjoying the moment then do. Personally I believe if something happens I would be upset either way and don’t see the point in not enjoying these early months especially when stuck at home. I I have got a Muslim, a baby grow, pack of vests and the one my mum got today. My Mum got us a second hand cot the other day because it was such good value but it’s at her house, if that hadn’t come up we would have waited. I know people who have loads more but also some have brought nothing yet.

@marauder1994 I’m glad you got checked and hope it clears up soon.

I’m so mad at myself, I fell off a chair today finishing the bathroom painting. It was a collapsible one and I didn’t realise if I stood too far back it would fall in. I really hurt my knees but managed to rescue the paint which I was proud of myself for. I hope bump is ok, all feels fine and I didn’t crash too hard, I know they are meant to be well cushioned in there. I am seeing the midwife tomorrow so will mention it.

Spark27 · 28/04/2020 17:44

@LexiM, I'm sure everything will be fine. Like you said they are pretty small and well cushioned in there at the mo. I would just pay attention to any pains or bleeding, and provided that doesnt happen just mention it to mw. If anything happens to worry you call the hospital/labour ward/emergency number you have.

I've not bought anything yet. But that's cos we have the majority already. I'm also waiting til payday, and as my scan is on the 6th I'll probably push myself to wait til then. I've got a fair few bits on my amazon baby list and ebay watch just waiting.

Indigogirl88 · 28/04/2020 18:00

@LexiM love that, so cute!

I've ended up having a stressful afternoon with my dog needing an operation and the vets stressing me out, why do they do that!?!

Anyway I've booked onto a Zoom meditation night tonight, I'm quite excited!

BooMamaBear · 28/04/2020 19:10

I haven't bought anything yet but picked what changing bag I want it's in my amazon basket. I already have quite a lot of stuff from DD got all her nice tiny baby Baby grows out and re-washed and ironed them all the other day!
I don't usually buy anything til 24 weeks! We used a Snuz pod with DD which was fab but we now have a lower bed so it won't attach to the side however when it's not on the base it rocks so I'll probably use if for downstairs!
Luckily I entered an Aldi competition on FB last year didn't realise there was a prize and I won-it was a beautiful Moses basket with mattress, sheets and stand -it's never been used as DD was too big when I won it so ill use that! Already got travel system from when we had DD! We'll need a new Cot bed for when baby is 6 months old and ready to go in their own room but plenty of time to get that!! Xx

Indigogirl88 · 29/04/2020 08:17

Morning ladies, I've woke up with anxiety this morning and I've been trying to shift it with a dog walk and some food but doesn't seem to be helping. Cant decide if its pregnancy related or not, I think its lockdown anxiety. Is anyone else getting this and how are you coping? It's such a strange time at the minute

Treacle81 · 29/04/2020 08:55

Morning girls! I’ve actually bought the biggest items, travel system and crib already, wouldn’t have normally until after 20 wks but just feel need to be a little more prepared. Oh @Indigogirl88 sorry you are feeling anxious, it’s awful when you just can’t shake it. I defo find that mindful you tube channels, listening to ‘weightless Marconi Union’ when struggling to sleep, a podcast or working out defo helps me. Oh and cuddles! I’m listening to the baby centre pod cast which is two mums sharing their weekly experiences with pregnancy and some facts, it’s good. I’m also going to start watching the Positive Birth Company YouTube vids and possibly order the book. Need to start work but I’ll check in n you later xx

@Indogogirl88 that's horrible, I think anxiety is normal at these times, is it to do with anything in particular or generalised? My mood has certainly be suffering lately but I am more irritable and agitated (my poor family 😆)
Keep posting, I'm sure it will pass. Do you normally experience anxiety?

blankiesandunicorns · 29/04/2020 09:00

Sorry posted your username wrong @Indigogirl88

LexiM · 29/04/2020 09:04

Sorry you are feeling anxious @Indigogirl88 I think it is all quite overwhelming at the moment. Being pregnant is enough but with the added pressure of not being able to see people and share things it’s hard. I agree about listening to podcasts, if anything it helps move my mind away from other things, even if I get distracted now and again.

I’ve got my midwife appointment today and I’m feeling anxious because of my fall yesterday but I don’t have any reason to be from the way I feel. They also said they would call a couple of days before to check I was feeling ok before I came in, now I’m wondering if they’ve forgotten or has it been cancelled and I don’t know! I am trying to drink lots of water in case she wants to take my blood as last time she couldn’t get any!

Indigogirl88 · 29/04/2020 09:26

Thanks girls, my mind is just running wild, I dont feel I deserve my dp and whether he will still find me attractive. Plus I worry if we're not married yet, what protection will I get. That plus the dogs poorly is playing on my mind

Thank you for the suggestions though I will deffo look at these later, I have work distractions for the day anyway!

@LexiM I didnt realise you fell yesterday, sending big hugs and hope the midwife app goes well today Flowers

BntTowers · 29/04/2020 09:27

@Indigogirl88 I think anxiety it at an all time high. I had horrendous nightmares last night. I won't get too much into them but about loosing baby. It's really shaken me this morning and I'm exhausted.

@LexiM let us know how it goes, how are you feeling physically after your fall? I think they are just so busy and you can't count on them to follow through on some calls at the moment. Do you have a number you can call just to check?

BooMamaBear · 29/04/2020 12:26

@Indigogirl88 -I hope you start feeling a bit better soon it is totally normal to feel anxious during pregnancy and in lockdown!
I keep getting dreams that I go to the loo and I'm bleeding heavily-they're so vivid it takes me a while to figure out if that happened or not!! Xx

BntTowers · 29/04/2020 12:42

Has anyone else had a really full feeling? Not just bloat, but feeling like I can hardly eat at the moment. I think it's probably just organs moving around and getting squashed, but it's making me feel full constantly, uncomfortable and a bit burpy (which is unusual for me).

HerondaleDucks · 29/04/2020 13:07

@Indigogirl88 I was very anxious yesterday.
The posts about what to do to prepare and everything sent me into a complete spiral.
I have tons of anxiety left over from being a carer for my step son and him needing to go into residential school as home was suitable any more.
I also have my step daughter full time and I get really anxious about being a parent and doing it right most of the time... let alone with a baby.
I feel like I've been a parent for years but, in reality I'm not really. And I'm feeling all anxious again typing this.

I hope all this is pregnancy hormones and this stupid lockdown. But I agree about the anxiety thing!

HerondaleDucks · 29/04/2020 13:09

I also had a full on dream that I was married to Rodney trotter from only fools and horses and found him masterbating to copies of good housekeeping... which made me feel super confused and weirded out this morning!

bluemoon2468 · 29/04/2020 14:33

Is anyone else's bump growing lopsided? It doesn't look that different, but when I feel with my hand it's much harder and more pushed out on the left side than the right!

Aquablue1123 · 29/04/2020 17:26

@bluemoon2468 I am so glad you said this, I've noticed mine is too, harder on the left hand side than the right. I wonder why? 🤔
