@CouscousEvaporator obviously totally up to you whether you get one but having watched the midwife find the heartbeat this week I personally can see why they don’t advise it. It took her quite a while to find it and she’s well practiced. Had I been at home and couldn’t find it, I would probably have found it distressing and then felt like I was being a pain to the NHS to have to call up and say I was worried when they advise not to use them. Especially when the baby is this tiny and moves around a lot it can be hard to find, I expect later on it maybe easier though and I guess if it did reassure you then possibly an option.
Thanks for recommending that book, I had heard good things about it but didn’t realised it covered so many areas, I might get it. I find I’m not reading many books at the moment as I don’t have the concentration.
I keep looking at baby things but feel totally overwhelmed by making choices and the cost of everything. The only thing we have started doing from this week is getting one or two things on the weekly shop e.g. bottles, nappies, wipes, maternity pads etc. that don’t cost much but would add up if purchase all at once.
I must have looked at all the brands of bedside cribs and still feel none the wiser over which to go for. I wanted to make a decision so I can keep an eye out for a second hand one over the coming months.
I have finished painting the bathroom which my back is relieved by. Just need to sort the tiles out as when we moved in they were painted so badly and are actually quite nice underneath. Just a bit more paint removal to go! I also ordered the nursery paint this morning but will probably not start that for a few weeks.
