Maggie90 · 12/04/2020 11:28

My bubba is here!!!! I am in utter shock as it all happened so quickly.

He was born 7.15am this morning and he’s just so bloody cute.

I haven’t quite accepted this is real yet!

OddshoesOddsocks · 12/04/2020 11:34

beeemria · 12/04/2020 13:50

Yep baby is due in August this year I am such in over drive of fear of what is happening I'm constantly cleaning and staying away from all locked up at home going abit crazy but I'm even thinking of when it all calms down do I even risk having visitors around or tell everyone to stay away how do you even say please stay away for abit more. So confused.com

nicciw87 · 12/04/2020 13:53

@OddshoesOddsocks no first 2 dot on due dates third 3 days early so praying this wee one comes soon and doesn't go over I think I'd go mental with all going on

123456kent · 12/04/2020 14:02

Congratulations @Maggie90 glad to hear it was so quick! You are probably home by now!!
I’m in a much better mood than I was a few days ago. So up and down. I’m just not as angry at people at mo. Probably cos no one has suggested a home birth to me for at least 24 hours.
I an very very on tenterhooks about how this will go though - the birth.
More so than I was with my first. Every single twinge I think ‘is this it?’ But i dont remember being like that with her. Much more anxious this time. I feel more worried about when she’s here too. I didnt enjoy the first 6-8 weeks last time at all. At least at the moment I can say with extreme gratitude that I’m getting a good nights sleep. Which is amazing at 39 weeks.
I know that once (touch wood) birth is out the way and i’m sleep deprived my worry is going to refocus itself on other things - like my parents health, and how on earth the country is going to ever get back to normal

fatisnotafeeling · 12/04/2020 14:49

Hi all can I join?

I am 38+ 4 and had my second sweep today but nothing happening so far, I am not being to impatient as I'm being induced weds morning

DH suffers with awful hay fever and always has a cough with it, we have been indoors for over 4 weeks now so know it's not C-19 but I really don't think they will allow him to be with me at the birth if he's still coughing and I am panicking about him missing it. My mum is on standby but I am getting the rage when he coughs because I want him to stop.

Moussemum · 12/04/2020 14:55

@fatisnotafeeling my partner has a permanent cough so I understand your worry. He still smokes and is for ever coughing.I know it’s not the virus he hasn’t had a temperature and is otherwise well.I do worry they will say something in the hospital if they hear him cough.Im sorry to hear your sweep hasn’t started things yet.I wonder if I will be given a sweep.I have a hospital appointment on Wednesday and I will be 38 weeks 3 days. Was it very uncomfortable?

KHall84 · 12/04/2020 14:59

Well I have been getting cramps today all day just mild not strong enough to need painkillers so am hoping in the next few days labour starts also my discharge gas changed today as well am going to try a clary sage oil tomorrow in a bath it worked last time for me xx

nicciw87 · 12/04/2020 15:01

@KHall84 how much did u use in bath? I have been using it as an oil rub on my back and belly and it's done nothing

KHall84 · 12/04/2020 15:07

@nicciw87 I just used a few drops cant quite remember as 4 years ago but a few more drops that it says on box I had a 20mins bath about 2 or 3 times over 2 or 3 days and I was in labour on the 3rd or 4th day xx

fatisnotafeeling · 12/04/2020 15:11

@Moussemum - it was slightly uncomfortable but not too bad just did breathing exercises through it.
I am 1cm dilated and my cervix is right at the front and he's engaged but cervix isn't totally soft so may not do anything at all.

It would help if my DH didn't cough like an old man to be honest he has to make the most noise that he can and it's driving me crazy. He also doesn't have a temp, just itchy eyes and this stupid cough, he's taking over the counter hay fever tablets and they are helping but don't take it away completely.
I will be so upset if he can't be there, I have suffered with awful depression in this pregnancy and I am under the peri natal mental health team and I am so worried that not having him with me will mean I am more likely to have the depression afterwards.

I know it is massively frowned upon on MN but the reason for my depression has been because of gender disappointment and I am so so so worried I won't bond when baby is here and not having DH with me will make that worse.

I really wish this virus would piss off.

nicciw87 · 12/04/2020 15:32

@fatisnotafeeling is this your first? I don't care what anyone says gender disappointment is completely normal. I had it major with my third one all boys and again for a bit with this boy number 4. This one I was more prepared though because of how I felt with my third and honestly it will go away when baby is here. As for bonding also don't worry if it's not an immediate rush of love that some people say my first took me a wee while to bond with him like a would say maybe 2 months round the time of the first smile really before that I felt like a milk machine. Just remember to take it easy on urself and don't let anyone else make u feel bad I think we do enough of that for ourselves

Moussemum · 12/04/2020 15:48

@fatisnotafeeling I am sorry you have suffered with depression during this pregnancy and about gender disappointment I think you are entitled to feel the way you feel.I am sure once the baby is born you will feel a bond.Make sure that you keep your mental health team informed about how you are feeling.I read somewhere that having a partner there during labour supports the mother so I would imagine you would only be on your own in exceptional circumstances.I am here to talk if you need a chat.x

nicciw87 · 12/04/2020 16:28

@Sgeld122 any word on your arrival yet? Everything ok? And @Maggie90 when your fit fancy posting labour story dying to know if u can just randomly start

Sgeld122 · 12/04/2020 16:43

@nicciw87 no arrival as of yet. Been getting cramps and back ache now for quite a.few days but nothing else. Getting very impatient now, she is really heavy and low struggling to even stand and cook tea some days.
