@Beanie1981

Hi!

Midwife was raving about a tens machine yesterday. I’ve never used one but but apparently they are very good.

Are you having to be monitored more often with blood pressure?

Sorry to hear you’ll be on your own in labour, If I go into labour during the night I will also be going in on my lonesome. I focus on positives though, to be honest I think husband secretly would like to miss labour part and just be presented with a bundle of baby!

Maggie90 · 10/04/2020 11:29

@becca3210

Oh wow, missed the post that said you’re in labour!

Talk about cutting it close with induction! I have read it happens quite a lot.

Wishing you lots of luck and hoping it all goes well.

flowerlamp · 10/04/2020 12:14

Congrats @Whatelsecouldibecalled.

Just had my first sweep. And no dilation has started yet. So booked in for another 2 sweeps and induction next week. Hopefully something will help to get this baby moving along. X

I've got a machine at home but it's regularly very high. Got meds to try and keep it down as they are worried about delivery. I'm just in tenterhooks waiting for it to happen. Would be so much easier if I could leave the hour and actually do stuff but being in isolation means I'm concentrating on it more!! Still trying to decide whether I risk buying the TENS, for not much more you can buy rather than rent.

nicciw87 · 10/04/2020 13:23

Well iv been feeling very wet from yesterday down there so phoned midwife today just asking advice going to get a check up now to see if it's waters or just discharge hoping it's my waters fingers crossed and iv not just been peeing myself constantly. Even if it's not wonder will they do a sneaky sweep lol. How are u today everyone? Anyone else in labour?

OddshoesOddsocks · 10/04/2020 23:01

I’ve had that feeling too @nicciw87, hope you get some answers!
I’ve been a bit crampy this evening and think I’ve had a bit of a loss of mucus plug but I don’t think it’s anything yet, just preparations! Still 13 days til due date so I think there’ll be a lot of this for the foreseeable Hmm

nicciw87 · 11/04/2020 08:54

@OddshoesOddsocks nope was just discharge and mucus plug coming away no waters I was raging hey ho only 7days left and never went over due date with the other 3

OddshoesOddsocks · 11/04/2020 10:08

@nicciw87 oh no that’s frustrating! All progress though isn’t it I suppose. I’ve been very crampy through the night but it stopped as soon as I got up so it must just be a position thing. Hey ho, not long now!

nicciw87 · 11/04/2020 10:21

@OddshoesOddsocks iv had period cramps everyday for 2 weeks and losing my plug and still no baby. Going to paint the living room today see if that helps lol

Maggie90 · 11/04/2020 10:51

@nicciw87

Lol, painting the living room?! That is nesting right there if I ever heard it!

I have also been losing plug over las two days and nothing. I am going to clean the bathrooms and bedroom today, see if I can get him moving!

I’m just going to have a further 2 hour nap though as I can’t be bothered to move and start the day!

nicciw87 · 11/04/2020 11:03

@Maggie90 this is second time iv nesting last week I scrubbed house from top to bottom everything in sight including ceiling lights and all and still here lol. Aww well they have to come out eventually

OddshoesOddsocks · 11/04/2020 11:52

Aaaargh I just want her to come out now!
@nicciw87 painting the living room sounds good! I had a good spell of nesting a few weeks ago, the house was spotless, hall decorated and baby’s ‘room’ (corner of our room) decorated and ready. The house is a mess now as I can’t be bothered to move!

Trying to distract myself with Easter crafts with the kids but I’m just grumpy and crampy!

nicciw87 · 11/04/2020 12:04

Yeh @OddshoesOddsocks my temper is getting the better of me ATM it's hard when ur so big and uncomfortable and not sleeping. Once this living room is painted have new carpet going in Tuesday and then my house is done from top to bottom again lol

OddshoesOddsocks · 11/04/2020 12:20

@nicciw87 perfect! Maybe your baby knows you’re not 100% ready yet and will come once the carpets down?

I haven’t wrapped the kids presents ‘from the baby’ yet and there’s still 1 to arrive, I think she’s holding on til I’m completely ready... that’s what I’m telling myself anyway, I’ll be very disappointed when she doesn’t!

nicciw87 · 11/04/2020 12:39

No I want baby here before the carpet only stairs getting done anyway. I need a glass of wine lol

KHall84 · 11/04/2020 22:12

How's everyone getting on ? I have had a few twinges so am hoping it means things might get started in the next week am currently 38+5 I went on due date last time so hoping for the same this time round x

Moussemum · 11/04/2020 23:46

@KHall84 I am good although getting quite uncomfortable at 38 weeks. My baby has hiccups now lol, feels so funny.Im finding it difficult to sleep. How are you sleeping,Have you got everything ready for baby coming?

Maggie90 · 12/04/2020 00:02

Well, I’ve tidied non-stop today. I’m still going strong and going to finish bedroom off now.

Baby is happily kicking away and shows no signs of coming. My goodness I did not expect him to be in there this long, I’m 41 weeks on Monday!!

Really thought I’d have a baby born in 38-39 week range.

I’ve got to the point where I’m willing pain, I get excited if I feel cramps. For all the mums who are terrified of child birth in early days (me included) I would just like to say you will be absolutely ready by the time you get to the end. Well, that’s how I feel anyway.

Moussemum · 12/04/2020 00:15

@Maggie90 I can’t imagine getting to 41 weeks, I can barely move now lol.I had my first at 37 weeks and will be induced at 39 weeks this time probably.I have done a fair bit of cleaning myself and packed and repacked my hospital case.I am nervous about going into hospital with the virus and everything but I hope it will be ok.Do you know what you are having?Have you picked a name yet?

Maggie90 · 12/04/2020 00:38

@moussemum It is a bit hellish! I started feeling really nauseous yesterday and threw up, hasn’t gone since so that’s a nice little addition to feeling like a whale, painful hips and not being able to get up without sounding like I’m 95 years old. Oh the joy! Ha.

I was very ready at about 38 weeks I would say, I tried to ask to be induced at 39 but flat out no. They wouldn’t even let me have a sweep until 40+4 and I had to practically beg as they wanted to wait until 41!

I am also quite nervous about going into hospital and the virus. The longer it goes on the more nervous I get but I am a nurse and all colleagues are saying that the maternity hospitals are the safest place at the moment. I asked my midwife if there had been any cases at mine and she said there hadn’t so that reassured me a little.

The cleaning is never flipping ending! I do it all day long and the house just seems the same. How do people keep constantly tidy houses? It baffles me.

We’re having a boy. I have a girl already and we were all hoping for a boy this time so feel very lucky. I have massively struggled with names though and still not 100% sure but I’m quite fond of Harry. I can’t even say I even particularly liked the name before pregnancy but for some reason it just popped into my head and has sort of stuck. My husband wanted Rupert originally but he’s now decided he also likes Harry (I think we have a winner)! Wooo.

Do you know what you are having or surprise?

Moussemum · 12/04/2020 00:51

It is good that you are a nurse and reassured by colleagues that maternity hospitals can be safe in this pandemic.Harry and Rupert are both lovely names. We don’t know what we are having although I have a strong feeling that it will be a boy.I haven’t bought any pink stuff and have washed my sons stuff.I can’t wait to see my baby.Smell his head and stroke his face (or her face). It will be weird not having visitors to our house when baby is born.I suppose that takes the pressure off having your house clean and presentable lol.

nicciw87 · 12/04/2020 09:46

@Maggie90 @OddshoesOddsocks if u have sore hips and are thinking of painting don't bloody do it. Oh the agony didn't get a wink of sleep last night with pains in my hips and can barely walk today lesson severely learned

OddshoesOddsocks · 12/04/2020 09:53

@nicciw87 oh no! Do you need another coat or are you at least able to sit back and admire your handy work? 😂
