Anyone awaiting arrival of their baby?

Hi,

My baby is due next Wednesday 8th April. Is anyone awaiting there little bundle to arrive around the same time?

Also how you feeling about the virus at such an special time for us

Well I'm now 40+2 here and not a sign of anything happening never wanted to be on pain so bad which sounds stupid but just want it all over and done now

@nicciw87 morning I see you still hanging in there with me, am the same am actually looking forward to labour lol nothing for me yet either all my walking and keeping active has done nothing, am at midwife at 2pm so see what she says, have you had any change over night ? Xx

@KHall84 fingers crossed she has some good news for you. Nah not a thing haven't tried nipple stimulation yet too tired to try it last night. I'm hoping it's just a surprise labour and short lol

My little boy was born at 2242 last night. Hospital have been amazing and I am looking forward to heading home at some point x

Been in for check BP and been told I'm being booked in for induction on Thursday with manual breaking of waters. Really didn't want it to come to this point. Anyone else been through the manual breaking of the waters? That bit scares me the most! I've bought a TENS machine, will that help?

@nicciw87 hi I had a sweep at midwife as my cervix was central,soft and open a little but and very favourably the midwife got very excited actually when I was so favourable it didn't hurt me at all which the midwife said is a really good sign so am now home bouncing on my ball hoping something happens in next 48hrs x

Fingers crossed @KHall84 I only get seen once a week now so won't even get another sweep or progress checked til Thursday. @Beanie1981 have no idea about induction how far overdue are u? And did they give u a sweep today?

@nicciw87 I am only 39wks and 1 day but have small protein and high BP so they won't let me get past due date. I asked about the sweep and they said not necessary, which is annoying. I just have to go in on Thursday, have the pessary and then the manual bursting of the waters. That and c-section were the things I was hoping to avoid the most!!!!

I have had terrible heartburn today out of the blue as I take medication for it anyway and I’m usually ok.I am still losing my plug after Wednesday!Havent had any pains today.I don’t think I will go into labour on my own and will have to wait until Sunday to be induced.I don’t mind really as the whole thought of labour scares me.i just want my lovely baby 🤗.

@nicciw87 @Moussemum morning as you can tell by the time of this post am having trouble sleeping again tonight I just can't get back to sleep, after my sweep I had a lot of braxton hicks but nothing else so I don't think this sweep will work I know they say if its going to work it will be within 48hrs but I don't feel any different and haven't lost plug or anything, I bounced on ball did a bit of nipple stimulation and nothing, how about you guys how r u getting on ? Xx

Well I did the nipple stimulation last night @KHall84 and it did give me some good contractions but they stopped after an hour don't think this baby ever wants to come out. I know I'm only 3 days overdue but iv never gone over before so it's now killing me

@nicciw87 the nipple stimulation is 15mins once an hr maybe try it a few times over a course of a few hrs if you didn't already, am gonna try my breast pump for nipples today see if it does anything, its my due date today and I went into labour on due date last time but don't think going yo happen this time x

How early have your other labours been ? I think a due date gives us woman false hope we won't go over so I feel your pain xx

First 2 born on their due dates and third was 3 days early so really didn't expect to go over @KHall84. I don't even have a pump cuz said I wasn't going to breast feed this time and have now changed my mind so need to get one lol.

@nicciw87 were you induced with any of your others or both natural spontaneous labours ? Yes if it was me I wouldn't of expected to go over either so it must be so frustrating for you xx

Luckily enough I kept my last breastpump i just bought all new parts for it to use this time as there so expensive pumps xx

No @KHall84 all spontaneous natural labour's first was in slow Labour for 3 days second was in labour from night before and third 6 hours from first pain. So have always gone into labour before my due date too and this one is already measuring a pound bigger than my heaviest. Starting to worry irrationally like maybe he can't engage as head is too etc

@nicciw87 if it makes you feel any better my midwife said yesterday that 2nd babies or more heads don't engage until labour mostly mine hasn't engaged yet but is head down xx

I have just had my show no pains or anything as of yet but I have checked my cervix and its right there as soon as you check so am hoping this means things are going to progress over next 24hrz xx

@KHall84 when you say right there like how far? Only asking as I am cervix checking every day or 2 and mine still feels a bit high to me like full finger to reach I know tmi lol

Well yesterday when I checked before modwife I couldn't feel it but midwife found it fine and then today I checked again and I only have to put a bit of finger in and can feel it don't have to go as far as first bend in finger to feel it xx

Yes but am.notbgetting hopes up as the other day I could feel it the a few hrs later it had gone high again so trying not to over think th4 cervix thing lol @nicciw87

Walk and nipple stimulation hopefully get u started @KHall84. I'm starting to think this one's never coming out x
