OddshoesOddsocks · 18/04/2020 19:14

Well dtd this morning and had absolutely no niggles or cramps or anything all day. Felt baby drop while I was making the kids tea so bouncing on my ball now. Completely lost my appetite and convinced that baby has dp’s pointy nose because I can FEEL it poking me!

KHall84 · 18/04/2020 19:19

I have had a few cramps and back ache this afternoon so am hoping this is a sign that over next few days things might get started hopefully xx

OddshoesOddsocks · 19/04/2020 08:33

KHall84 · 19/04/2020 08:39

@oddshoesoddsocks am glad am not the only one its so frustrating, he has definitely moved into different position as I think its his bum is sticking up on right-side of my tummy am hoping he is still head down i have midwife tomorrow so will find out and find out how my cervix is looking x

OddshoesOddsocks · 19/04/2020 09:26

@khall84 mine is in exactly the same place but has been for the majority of the time! I’ve got the midwife on Tuesday who said she’d do a sweep so fingers crossed! I don’t think baby will be here by then. Good luck tomorrow!

nicciw87 · 19/04/2020 10:02

I had contractions all day yesterday til half 10 but not painful went to then to try and rest got woken up at half 2 with some strong ones then they stopped again an hour later this morning nothing just crampy wish this one would make up his mind feels like the slow Labour I had with my first being my fourth I thought I would start contracting then they would get strong and I'd have him quick wee bugger

KHall84 · 19/04/2020 10:48

@nicciw87 oh thats a pain and I bet frustrating for you but its also a good sign things are heading in the right direction I hope one of us has our babies soon, my discharge has changed today so am hoping this means something will happen in next few days x

nicciw87 · 19/04/2020 10:56

@KHall84 im still losing mucus plug after my sweep not bloody anymore though still hoping it's a sign I'm dilating more won't find out til Thursday though if that's the case

Marshy86 · 19/04/2020 11:57

Hey all, glad I'm not the only one in this position due date today and I'm so tired. Heartburn has been unbearable also

nicciw87 · 19/04/2020 13:06

@Marshy86 thqk God my heart ur sees to have eased past 2 days it is hell having it x

nicciw87 · 19/04/2020 14:03

Anyone else tempted to give Castor oil a try? Been reading up on the studies and seems to be no adverse outcomes

Marshy86 · 19/04/2020 16:06

@nicciw87 I've found eating earlier helps but we found a Chinese that has opened again locally last night and I've been craving one so bad! Such a big mistake though as I suffered the consequences throughout the night

Maggie90 · 19/04/2020 19:36

I absolutely love this thread. It massively kept me going in the last week of pregnancy (thankyou).

I’m reading all of your comments in between feeding baby and just smiling because in days you are all going to have your lovely babies.

I honestly thought he would never come and everyday was just hell.

Baby is a week old today, I actually feel envious of you all now, because although it bloody hurt, it was such a lovely experience and that feeling when your baby is here is just amazing! ... and you won’t be pregnant anymore (wheyyy)!

Days to go! X

Moussemum · 19/04/2020 19:56

Baby is going crazy after my dinner.He/she has been headbutting my cervix for over an hour. Its very sore.its making me want to go for a pee.im being induced this Sunday.im 39 weeks today.
@Maggie90 it must be lovely having your baby in your arms.🤗

nicciw87 · 19/04/2020 20:16

Well @Maggie90 @Moussemum @KHall84 only good of thing iv realised is I only have 9days left no matter what as here it's a 10day eviction notice lol.

Beanie1981 · 19/04/2020 20:54

@Maggie90 I can't believe it's been a week!
@Moussemum I'm 39 weeks today as well! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon where we are talking induction. Because I have hypertension I've been told they won't allow me to go past 40 weeks so kind of scary it will be within the week. EEKK!!
I completely flip to wanting it to just happen and stop living thinking every twinge is the start and not wanting the pain! The nights are the worst, as she seems to go ballistic as soon as I lay down. Is anyone else needing to pee like every 30mins-1hr at night but during the day it's normal?!
I'm going on a good walk before my appointment tomorrow to jiggle her downwards - I am NOT looking forward to the sweep.....

KHall84 · 19/04/2020 21:30

@Moussemum @nicciw87 Well again I had stronger cramps today nothing that required painkillers but stronger than yesterday and my discharge is thicker and slightly more jelly like so hoping soon enough I will lose my plug and something will start to happen, I have been on a long walk today and helped move my new bed upstairs so hoping all this activity might do something.

@nicciw87 let me know if you try nipple stimulation am gonna give it a go tomorrow night am shattered tonight to try lol xx

Hi, 39+2 and nothing here either. Reading into everything. Hoping that it’s something whilst also absolutely dreading it. Needed the toilet tonight (unlike me) which has made me feel really nervous that’s a sign... I bet it isn’t!! I’m so scared about the pain coming, I really dont cope well with it.
On the other hand the thought of another boring week looming... I almost want to give birth as something to do! So bored now.
Also desperate to present my daughter with a baby. Please god let it turn out that way.
The thought that this could drag on for a few more weeks is a real head f* ck!!

Maggie90 · 20/04/2020 00:34

@123456kent

I was shocked how quick it was. An hour before he was out I remember saying ‘oh my god what is happening’? To the midwife. I was in labour for over 48 hours with my first and this one was 3 hours 15mins active labour. The midwife said second is normally much quicker (only got to hospital with an hour to spare)!

Although it hurt, I remember thinking after, ‘wow, that was bloody quick, I almost didn’t have time to register I was in pain ha! Don’t worry about birth, you’ll be fab! It will be over before you know it.

Also, I tried hypnobirthing... was crap hahah. I just kept telling myself over and over ‘that’s one contraction less, that’s one less I have to do’. I think that was my hypnobirthing haha

Maggie90 · 20/04/2020 00:35

Are you hoping for midwife unit or delivery ward?

123456kent · 20/04/2020 01:21

Thanks for writing back!! Can’t sleep. I want to have exactly your birth please!!!!
This is my first night of insomnia, very frustrating. Can’t switch my brain off.
Re your question- I have no idea... i’m just turning up. From what i can see/hear there are no ‘choices’ to be made at my hospital now so I will take what I’m given based on the circumstances at the time. Id planned a water birth last time but my waters went and i was induced with epidural which was perfect. Epidurals unlikely available, not sure water births are...
i hate this uncertainty.
I’m not angry or upset like I was... just really sort of dazed!!

123456kent · 20/04/2020 01:21

Hypnobirthing also isn’t for me - my brain isn’t wired that way sadly!!
