Carrying on our discussion and hopefully having less of the nausea, morning sickness and sore boobs as the thread progresses!

@futuredreams sorry to hear about your previous losses, I've also had 3 losses before this and completely understand the anxiety! I'd call and chase up your referral, I had to do the same as I hadn't heard anything and got a call back with my appointment the same day. My booking in with the midwife will be over the phone rather than in person and I'll have to get bloods done separately. As far as I know, 12 weeks scans still seem to be going ahead as normal, however in the majority of places women are being asked to go alone rather than bringing partners. Not ideal but at least scans are still happening!

@wannabebump step away from the threads and the google! It's so hard not to worry in the first trimester, especially at the moment when a lot of us probably have more thinking/worrying time on our hands. The odds of a good outcome are very much in your favour though. Have you got anything you can distract yourself with to stay away from google?

@Blueeyedgirrl81 sorry to hear about the spotting! It seems to be very common in early pregnancy, everything being fine on the early scan is a great sign!

Blueeyedgirrl81 · 02/04/2020 09:38

Thanks @NoseringGirl. I called the EPU this morning and the sister just said to monitor and like you said, it can be quite common. Also said to keep up the laxative and a decent diet.

wannabebump · 02/04/2020 10:22

@NoseringGirl you are so right! The worrying is just the worst isn't it x

@futuredreams I had to chase mine up as well after 2 weeks and got a call back the same day with an appointment x

futuredreams · 02/04/2020 10:42

@NoseringGirl and @wannabebump. Thanks for your help and advice. I would like to call but I just feel silly when all this is going on. I’ll probably get a grumpy response that I just need to wait longer for the letter. I dunno. I might just call and face the response just to know Blush

NoseringGirl · 02/04/2020 11:02

@futuredreams I felt exactly the same, I spent 3 weeks putting it off! They were absolutely fine when I called though!

wannabebump · 02/04/2020 11:36

@futuredreams they were lovely when I called! I just said I was calling to make sure they had all my info as I appreciate they are so busy just now with everything going on - they profusely apologised because I should have heard much sooner. X

Sakura54 · 02/04/2020 15:13

@futuredreams don’t feel silly about calling. It’s v important that you get the ball rolling and get your appts sorted! This CV situation shouldn’t stop pregnant women getting our antenatal care. I’m also over 9 weeks and had my booking in and checks all done last week, as well as many, many appts booked for me! Let us know how you get on.

futuredreams · 02/04/2020 15:35

@wannabebump and @NoseringGirl @Sakura54 so I called and actually they were lovely. Said I should have had some response but when she looked into it and saw that the EPU still have their grips on my because of my recurrent miscarriage they don't make a maternity appointment until I have been discharged from there. I have an appointment there on Saturday for a reassurance scan so I guess they'll let me go after that and pass me over to maternity. Probably done this way because it's a high likelihood of me miscarrying. 😞

Thanks for encouraging me to call. I was waiting on a letter that was never going to come. Xx

wannabebump · 02/04/2020 16:32

@futuredreams great news that you got sorted, and good luck with your scan xx

Clove20 · 02/04/2020 20:12

Hi ladies!

Is anyone suffering from nausea and sickness?!

Please let me know what you're eating that stays down?

I'm struggling to keep any food down and starting to get worried now

KatieGlo · 02/04/2020 20:41

@Clove20 That sounds awful, I'm feeling nauseous, wretching but not actually being sick (yet!).
I assume you've tried toast and pasta, and ginger biscuits?
Definitely contact your midwife/gp if it doesn't settle by the morning, you need liquids or you'll get ill. I'm sure they'll be able to prescribe something if needed x

Clove20 · 02/04/2020 20:46

@katieglo

I could have cried. Asked my partner to bring me some bread on his way back from work and he brought brioche bread. Can't stand sweet bread at the moment.

Going to get some regular bread tomorrow and ginger biscuits. Never been a fan of ginger biscuits but I'll give them a go.

I've been feeling the nausea for about a week now, the sickness started yesterday. Such a nightmare

KatieGlo · 03/04/2020 20:35

@Clove20
How are you doing today? Managed to eat anything? X

Clove20 · 03/04/2020 21:18

@katieglo I threw up twice earlier before 1pm. Been fine since. Had some fresh ginger in water all day so been sipping on that.
I can't stand the thought of meat, so I made a vegetable soup, which stayed down!! And a piece of toast.
So much better. The ginger has really helped.

Thanks for asking xx

KatieGlo · 03/04/2020 21:50

@Clove20 glad to hear you're doing a bit better, fingers crossed you're OK tomorrow too Smile

futuredreams · 04/04/2020 12:53

Hi. I had my scan today. Went amazingly well. Except the part I sat in the EPU for half an hour and nobody came near me. Asked a nurse and she said it had moved location. Nobody called to tell me. Think that was pretty poor. There wasn’t even a sign to tell us it had moved. As I thought. No partners were allowed in. And they’re doing booking in scans at 14 weeks now not 12 so I have an age to wait again for another one. I felt so bad for my husband. He really wanted to be there. They also had a strict no video policy also. But happy for now.

KatieGlo · 04/04/2020 17:07

@futuredreams I have been told 12 week scan is now at 14 weeks too. First baby so obviously would like my husband there, but understand the NHS need strict guidelines- thinking of booking a private scan, but hope they don't clamp down on those too!
The no-video rule seems unnecessarily harsh, obviously you'd take care not to get the sonographer (?) in the film, but it's your baby so I can't see the harm in a little bit of film of its heartbeat etc to show family. It's all about being reasonable in these tough times, and I really don't see the harm in videoing a screen...

calimommy · 04/04/2020 17:46

Hi hope you don't mind me joining. Due December 1 but that gives room for a November baby too 😋 This will (🤞) be my 4th baby. Very excited! If there is a Facebook group I'd love to join that, I find it hard to keep track of conversations on these threads once they become larger.

Chickoletta · 07/04/2020 09:42

I have given in and ordered bigger knickers from M&S at 9+4!

KatieGlo · 07/04/2020 14:32

Haha got to love some baggy knickers! I have been putting into storage bags the slim clothes that I won't be wearing for a while

Whoamieven · 09/04/2020 00:51

I should be 10 weeks on Friday but just has bright red bleeding, anyone else??

Chickoletta · 09/04/2020 22:18

@Whoamieven - sorry that nobody’s replied. I don’t know where everyone’s gone from this thread!

How are you now? Have you contacted your midwife? You probably need a scan to check that everything’s ok.

Thinking of you.

Chickoletta · 09/04/2020 22:26

Just found a third thread which is very active! November 2020
