Carrying on our discussion and hopefully having less of the nausea, morning sickness and sore boobs as the thread progresses!

Doc has given me meds so will see if they work. Bloody hope so as been sick 4 times today and felt sick rest of the time. Needless to say I’ve not been able to do any work

Sakura54 · 16/03/2020 16:23

Poor you @Natopp. Us lot are here struggling with pregnancy and looking after our DC, while you’re having to look after someone else’s kids lol! Tbh, DS is over 13kg and I haven’t picked him up much for ages now...only for toilet, bath etc. Best to avoid heavy lifting!

canueve · 16/03/2020 16:23

Just coming from the first thread.

I am going to be 8 weeks next week so looking at a private scan to rule out anything wrong. I am impressively calm and trying to remain positive, but it's so hard when you only have symptoms and the positive tests but nothing to see per se.
Midwife appt will be April, 3 so looking forward to that as well.

I had been trying to conceive for a long time and about to be 36, so really hoping this one sticks.
Curious to know predicted due date too

burntpinky · 16/03/2020 16:30

I second the above poster who said don’t worry if you don’t have symptoms - I had really bad morning sickness in 2017 and it continued for another 3 weeks even though I’m told the baby had stopped developing 3 weeks earlier and I had a MMC. So I don’t think lack of symptoms is indicative

I’ve also caved and booked a private scan for 29th when, all being well, I’ll be 8+1.

Then i only have to wait just over another 2 weeks for a scan with my Iona test and then another 2 weeks after that for my 12 week scan. Think it’s helping by breaking it down into small chunks

AnxiousLady1 · 16/03/2020 16:39

@ParisInTheSpringtime Did you have a scan today? How did it go?

@Foreverblowingbubbles18 and @SecondSecret - MMC on my last pregnancy also, and 6+3 today. Totally with you ladies on the anxiety (the clue is in my name on this thread!)

@Foreverblowingbubbles18 - I had similar concerns on the CM compared to last time, but I did a bit of googling and it seems pretty normal to vary. I've got symptoms this time around that I didn't have last time, but that hasn't stopped me worrying about not having the symptoms I had last time- despite that being an unsuccessful pregnancy!

MoreGinPlease2020 · 16/03/2020 16:43

My booking in appointment is on the 30th - I was assuming they might change it to a telephone appointment but I think they have to take bloods?

I told my boss this morning, mainly because I'm terrified of another MMC, but also because I'm very emotional and cried this morning when he asked me what I was doing about my wedding and the Coronavirus. We're getting married in May and my overseas relatives are cancelling. We're also buying and selling a house so my stress levels are rather raised. I keep being told I need to relax which really isn't helping!

Natopp · 16/03/2020 16:47

@Sakura54 haha I really don't mind, as I say I love my job and the kids are so wonderful. But I also think I need to start not doing so much and easing off even though its still early days!! Easier said than done when it's my job and all I want to do is snooze on the sofa haha. I have them for 60 hours a week and the long hours are definitely hitting me hard this week! Shattered! Ah well, very happy to be in this position anyway so need to remind myself to focus on the positives and enjoy the ride xx

Natopp · 16/03/2020 16:47

Oops - I say this week - feels like Wednesday but just realised it's actually only Monday..... 😁😂😂😂

ACatCalledLola · 16/03/2020 16:50

@Natopp I’m still picking up my incredibly lazy 14kg 3 year old. It’s more that you’re at increased risk of damage to your ligaments rather than damage to the baby by lifting heavy objects when pregnant.
I saw my endocrinologist today about my dodgy thyroid results from last week. My levels have returned to near normal so he said that my risk of miscarriage would have been high last week but has reduced significantly now. I have a scan next week so as long as that goes well I will be able to relax and know that there’s not much of an increased risk of things going wrong. I’m still very nervous for the scan but feel massively relieved and a lot more positive about this pregnancy.

Emelene · 16/03/2020 17:05

Hi ladies! Thanks for the second thread.

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow which means I can finally self refer to the midwives in my area! I've got an early scan booked next Saturday so I can't wait for that. Smile

uisage · 16/03/2020 17:09

@natopp The advice for exercise/lifting during pregnancy is to keep doing what your body is used to. So if you're used to hauling around a 1yo all day, you will probably be fine to lift things. Just be careful and listen to your body! I went to weights class at the gym until the second trimester last time, I was doing 30kg squats (under the supervision of the instructor). But you're allowed to not enjoy being pregnant, it isn't the easiest job in the world.

@Acatcalledlola My 17mo is 13kg, he's a chunk! I'm glad that your levels are back down.

I've been on this every day: datayze.com/miscarriage-chart . My risk of miscarriage will be down to less than 10% on Thursday! It's pretty exciting.

canueve · 16/03/2020 17:28

@uisage this is great, thanks for sharing.

I have been using a meditation app called insight timer, it has tons of content for free and I put it on every day to sleep, it has helped me massively. There are guided mediation, all kinds of music, talks etc. you can choose duration, female or male voice.
You can listen anytime you are feeling a bit anxious and it is incredible how something so simple can make me so relaxed.

WildflowerPetals · 16/03/2020 17:45

Just marking my place in the new thread.

I have my first midwife appointment in a few weeks but can’t wait for the first scan when I actually get to see baby 🥰

Tonicandgin · 16/03/2020 17:53

So we're all in for 12 weeks..!

NoseringGirl · 16/03/2020 18:11

@Tonicandgin it certainly looks that way! My friend who is in her second tri has already told me she's not doing that! I think I'm going to follow the guidelines on it though. My 6 year old will still be bringing all his germs home from school mind!

Tonicandgin · 16/03/2020 18:22

This is the bit I don't get! Why keep schools open?

AnxiousLady1 · 16/03/2020 18:24

So have I misread the news, or are pregnant women supposed to stay indoors now too?? I havent even told work yet...

What's everyone else's view on this?

GB88 · 16/03/2020 18:24

We would need to tell our employers? @Tonicandgin

GB88 · 16/03/2020 18:26

@AnxiousLady1 i haven't told work yet either and i wasn't planning on either (until after 12 weeks), i dont know what to do

cmosh · 16/03/2020 18:27

I thought pregnant women were put into the higher risk category , although in the Q&A I'm sure he said it's just women in third trimester? So confusing!!!

AnxiousLady1 · 16/03/2020 18:33

@cmosh Yes I'm struggling to find anything definitive on it. Don't want to go and tell my employers I'm working from home from now on, without clear understanding of whether or not I fall into a risk category.

anon5555 · 16/03/2020 18:38

After writing earlier that I wasn't going to tell my boss I now have. The majority of people at my work (due to the nature of the company) will still be working even in lockdown situation. I'm going to try to limit who I tell at work to a minimum. But people will start to work it out. I'd rather risk this though and work from home, than go to work.

Beesly · 16/03/2020 18:54

@Busybee143 how was your scan??

@AnxiousLady1 i had spotting when I wiped last night, 6 +2. It was very pale pink and gone by the morning but it terrified me. Surely this is too late for implantation?? Then I remembered it happening with my daughter around this stage too.

cmosh · 16/03/2020 18:55

@AnxiousLady1 I wasn't going to tell them but I spoke to my HR Lead so that any specific guidance for pregnant employees was passed to me. Our firm have advocated working at home for as long as needed which is great, means no commute into London

SJ1989 · 16/03/2020 19:10

Marking my place and just catching up, really hoping not to tell work yet, I'm agency and we have permanent jobs coming up in a month or two which I currently have a good chance of getting
