This is a safe space and supportive thread for anyone who is pregnant following a loss.

We all understand the worry and anxiety that can come from being pregnant again following miscarriage/stillbirth/neonatal death.

Plenty of births on the last thread, congratulations to you all!

Let's start a fresh roll call below? I'll collate as we go.

@Ginmonkey84 beautiful baby, congratulations!!

squirrelnutkins1 · 09/04/2020 14:09

So spoke to my GP reception this morning as I've not heard a word about my midwife appointment due on Tuesday. She said its too dangerous for pregnant women to go to the surgery so the appointment will be held at the fertility unit at the hospital!!!!!!!! Madness eh. It's going to be weird going back there with a bump. Fortunately you just walk into that bit of the hosp from the outside, I won't have to trawl thru the hospital but I'm not overjoyed at the prospect to be honest.

Kayjay2018 · 09/04/2020 14:58

@squirrelnutkins1 that does sound a little odd, but at least there is a direct entrance. All my midwife ones have been at the hospital since booking in, unfortunately I do have to walk through a few corridors to get there

I had my final growth scan today at just under 36 weeks, baby's heart rate looks good and is an estimated 6lb 1 oz. did anyone else have a growth scan at this stage? Was the estimated weight about right or completely wrong? Next appointment is Wednesday with the midwife and then the following Monday with the consultant. Must finish my birth plan and hypno birthing course ASAP!

Rubyroost · 09/04/2020 16:48

@squirrelnutkins1 I wonder if there's been some incidences of coronavirus at your GPS, but not at the fertility unit?

Rubyroost · 09/04/2020 16:50

@squirrelnutkins1 I'm supposed to go to my gp for baby 6 week check up and I really don't want to go. Dr said not to bother until he heard that the midwife visiting my home after birth had mentioned baby's hip ligaments seemed loose. As baby was born breech he thinks I should go to get hips checked out. 😭

squirrelnutkins1 · 09/04/2020 22:34

@Kayjay2018 I suppose with it being a direct entrance it's not really any different to going to the GP's. Well that's what I'm telling myself anyway 🙈 glad all's going well 😊

@Rubyroost ah I'd not thought of that, maybe so. Can you delay it at all?

I'm feeling a bit gutted tonight. A friend, not a close friend but close enough had her baby girl this week and have just announced her name.... my most favourite name in the whole world ☹️ of all the names in all the world! And it's a new name too, they thought they were set on something else until very recently. Recently DH decided he'd gone off it a little and we've picked a new name but my fave name will still be her middle name but it'll look like we're copying 🙄 I know I'm being pathetic but it's an unusual name, not totally unheard of but I've loved it for nearly a decade. Ah well.. first world problem I know. Just needed to vent.

Rubyroost · 10/04/2020 15:50

@squirrelnutkins1 in terms of names and looking like you're copying, I say bollocks to it. A name is so important and if it's the name you really want then you have to use it regardless of what you think it looks like. Do you have to announce the name of its her middle name?

squirrelnutkins1 · 10/04/2020 21:41

@Rubyroost that's a good point 👍🏻 plus life's too short not to do what you want to!

nzs2019 · 11/04/2020 20:47

Oh wow! I just thought I'd come and have a look for this thread see how everyone was, I think I last spoke in it in September!
My rainbow boy Tommy arrived safely but early by EMCS at 35 weeks in January!
He's 3 months now 💙

Thank you @Rubyroost yes we’re absolutely smitten. All is well and recovery is thankfully seeming quick. I do however still have excruciating sciatic pain in my buttock from carrying such a big lump. Hope you’re getting on ok.

Thank you @Kayjay2018 he is quite chilled although he’s doing a lot of cluster feeding during the night which is tiring. During the day he’s lovely and relaxed.

Thanks @Twitwooo hope the thesis went well. It’s so difficult deciding how to give birth. There’s so many possibilities and risks to consider, especially at the moment. What I will say is I had a fantastic section experience and felt very protected from CV. Not to say you’re considering surgery. I hope you were able to decide on what works best for you! Xx

Catconfusion · 12/04/2020 05:57

Congratulations @Ginmonkey84 she’s beautiful.

Thanks @ChikiTIKI all good here. I hope you’re feeling good too.

Thanks @Laney79 you were right, it was an amazing experience to have an elective. I’d definitely do it again if we have another baby. I’ll be at least 42 then so would want to minimise risks.

Catconfusion · 12/04/2020 06:00

Thank you @Mistymeow he’s definitely a cutie. It was from Gap but a while ago. They did a Princess Leia one so we got both before we knew the sex. He’ll probably wear that one as well. You might find one on eBay. People are making something similar on Etsy. It really seems to suit his little face.

Laney79 · 12/04/2020 07:04

@Catconfusion so pleased it went well for you. I'm the same, wouldn't hesitate to go for Elective section if we had another. Not sure if we will as I'm in a similar boat to you-41 this July so time not on our side. I have loved it, but I think my OH has found newborn stage, and having to look after me post section hard.
So pleased it was good for you! X

Laney79 · 12/04/2020 08:04

Oh and @Catconfusion do join the FB group-would be lovely to see you on there! X

Rubyroost · 12/04/2020 17:14

Was 3 months before my 41st birthday befire I conceived this one, can still be done. Get cracking. 😂

Kayjay2018 · 13/04/2020 12:48

@Catconfusion glad your little one is doing well!

Eek I'm now 36 weeks, no longer at work and have just fitted the i Sofia car seat base into DHs car (glad we did it before it's needed as he was getting a little flustered getting it fitted). All hospital bags are packed, clothes and nappies are washed - just have to finish my hypno birthing online videos. I feel like I have prepared as much as I can in the current circumstances - have I missed anything? My son came just after 37 weeks so I've wanted to be organised.

InDreamland · 15/04/2020 05:08

Hi ladies. Thought I'd pop on to see how you're you're all doing. Sorry not been on foot a couple of weeks, it's been busy and exhausting.

Congratulations @Catconfusion @Ginmonkey84 and @Pop1234!

@Kayjay2018 how exciting to be on mat leave. How are you? Sounds like you're all prepared.

Hope everyone is coping okay in this crazy time x

InDreamland · 15/04/2020 05:12

Oh, and nice to read about ages for having a second baby. DH really wants another and I think is keen to plan and crack on with it ......... Bubsy is only 8 weeks old (9 weeks tomorrow)! I'm still too traumatised from the experience of birth to consider a second plus want to just enjoy Bubsy for now. I turned 40 a few weeks ago so I know time isn't on my side ........... especially with my fertility and MC history............

Kayjay2018 · 15/04/2020 17:07

@InDreamland wow I can't believe bubsy is 9 weeks tomorrow, time seems to be flying. Had my 36 week midwife check and all ok, bump is 2/5 engaged, but I think second babies can move.

Today's been a bit emotional as it's 1 year exactly since my MC so been a bit wept, not helped by failing to sleep well last night and being so uncomfy when walking. DH is busy and stressed with work so not really been able to talk to him about today (and I don't think he would really understand anyway).

On a positive side I think we have narrowed our baby names to one boy name and one girl name, now need to see if the baby suits it when it is born.

InDreamland · 16/04/2020 09:39

@Kayjay2018 I know, time has flown by even with the exhaustion from sleepless nights and the challenges we've faced. So pleased your 36 week check went well. Anniversaries of losses are so hard. We never get over them, over time we learn to live with the grief. If you need to cry then let it out. That's very exciting that you have names now.

Lozzak87 · 16/04/2020 18:57

Hi ladies

Its been a while since I've been on mn, been a busy few months so happy to see so many rainbow babies, I just wanted to update you on my story.

My beautiful baby girl-Rose- was born at 28+3 in January, weighing 1kg (2lb 2oz) due to me having severe pre eclampsia, after 59 days in nicu and a relatively smooth journey we were discharged home 21/3/2020 when she was 8 weeks old. Now home and enjoying our isolation our baby girl is thriving weighing 6lb 5oz and 12 weeks old, we are now only having two tube feeds and breastfeeding like a trooper the rest of the time.

I often think of you all and am sad I have not been able to follow your journeys properly but wishing you all well. I've attached some pics of the little lady xxxx
