This is a safe space and supportive thread for anyone who is pregnant following a loss.

We all understand the worry and anxiety that can come from being pregnant again following miscarriage/stillbirth/neonatal death.

Plenty of births on the last thread, congratulations to you all!

Let's start a fresh roll call below? I'll collate as we go.

@ChikiTIKI I got released the following day despite complications with c section. My boyfriend thought they shouldn't really have, I was in a lot of pain because they messed about whilst they were in there and all the trapped air was leading to pain in my shoulder and top of abdomen etc. I was crying by the time I went to bed. But all was okay in the end. I think they'll probably get you out today. I stayed in extra with my first nut it was not to do with c section, it was because he wouldn't latch for 48 hours so they didn't discharge me until b feeding had started.

Mistymeow · 31/03/2020 19:13

@ChikiTIKI I didn’t have morphine and managed with the pills, can’t remember what they were. Took me ages to wee too!
@Catconfusion I did get itchy where the spinal block went, and I had a lot of vomiting after the c section but they gave me an anti sickness shot and that sorted me out. Apart from that I’ve had no issues with the c section recovery.

ChikiTIKI · 01/04/2020 21:15

We came home yesterday 🙂 last night was super painful and tiring but felt a lot better today and it's gone really well. I realised the best thing for pain is sleep so just have to be a bit selfish for a while and sleep whenever I get the chance. Hoping to sleep soon once this cluster feed is done..!

Kayjay2018 · 01/04/2020 21:28

@ChikiTIKI congratulations on the arrival of you little one. It must be good to be back home in bed, it's amazing how quickly you are home. I hope you manage to get some sleep this evening Smile

ChikiTIKI · 02/04/2020 12:42

Thanks @kayjay2018

I went back to the hospital today as I have a spinal headache. Been offered a blood patch but going to wait and pray for it to fix itself as I don't want any more needles near my spine. Got to drink water and lie down as much as I can to help it heal not very practical!

Kayjay2018 · 02/04/2020 12:54

@ChikiTIKI oh no, I imagine going back to the hospital was the last thing you wanted. A spinal headache sounds nasty, so you have someone home to bring your little one to you so you can stay horizontal as much as possible? How is your daughter doing? I always wonder what they must think, having been so nice and comfy in their environment it must be a shock to be in the real world!

Only 1 week left at work for me I cannot wait. Bump is either hitting me low down inside or kicking my lungs. I feel huge even though measuring well, I've told the little one that I'm happy for it to arrrive anytime from 2 1/2 weeks away (I'll be 37 weeks then), I really don't want an induction and to be on my own in hospital, I've warned it there will be consequences from a forced eviction Grin

Catconfusion · 03/04/2020 07:42

@ChikiTIKI so sorry to hear you got a spinal headache and had to go back. I hope you’re feeling better today! Xx

Hi ladies, I've been avoiding MN to try and reduce my anxiety about this awful virus and I've fallen off this thread somewhat!

Congratulations @ChikiTIKI but sorry to see you are back in hospital - hopefully you will be home soon!

We're just settling into life with two children during this global pandemic. Finding it hard with a newborn and a toddler without any help as husband is working very long hours. Hopefully I can see my mum again once this is all over and get some help with them both! Very scary, lonely time to have babies! I hope you are all keeping well xx

Hi everyone

I haven't been checking in as remained anxious throughout my entire pregnancy, but my rainbow has now arrived finally.

I just wondered how I join the Facebook group if that's ok?

Rubyroost · 06/04/2020 17:24

Congratulations on your baby x. @Pop1234 send direct message on mumsnet to @Beaglemum93 with your email address and she will add you that way. @Catconfusion how's things going, I know today is the day. Exciting! @sadtoday21 @Mistymeow would be great to see you over on the Facebook page.

Rubyroost · 06/04/2020 17:25

Sorry and @ChikiTIKI (knew I'd missed some one) are you coming on over too?

Mistymeow · 06/04/2020 18:05

I’ll send @Beaglemum93 a message!

Catconfusion · 06/04/2020 22:47

Hey everyone, I had my elective today. Beren Philip is his name. Both doing well. Weight was 9 pounds 5 so not quite as big as expected. Head was huge though, 45cm circumference. So relieved he’s here.

Wow @Catconfusion congratulations so a big baby then and an impressive head size. Must be all those brains. 👍

Rubyroost · 07/04/2020 00:06

His head doesn't look big at all tho, what a cutie!

Kayjay2018 · 07/04/2020 06:29

@Catconfusion congratulations on the safe arrival of your son he is absolutely lovely, he looks very chilled in that photo. I hope you are recovering too, congratulations 🥳

Twitwooo · 07/04/2020 07:28

Congratulations @ChikiTIKI and @Catconfusion !

33 weeks here today. Midwife in a week, fretting about birth options. Submitting my thesis later today.... not much else to report

Kayjay2018 · 07/04/2020 08:01

@Twitwooo ooh, you are just a few weeks behind me! I'm 35+2 today and looking forward to finishing work on Thursday. It's an interesting time for hospital and midwife visits isn't it?

Twitwooo · 07/04/2020 08:30

@Kayjay2018 I can't say I really know as my last midwife appointment was at 28 weeks and everything was fine still!
I don't fit behind the wheel of my car to drive either so dh and dd have to come with and ...wait in the car I assume 🙄 she's going to be very disappointed that her first trip in the car in weeks will get her no where special.

Home births are still an option around my parts but I don't know for how long, reading about the ambulance service looking for extra staff / volunteers makes me wonder if I'm being unreasonable to be considering it even if it's still on the table. But if not that it's being dropped off by dh and dd to give birth then them picking me up after which doesn't sound great either. Don't know how to weigh up the risks at the moment, I don't think you actually can! And I don't expect my next midwife appointment to actually shed any additional light on the situation as things are so dynamic at the moment. Interesting indeed

Kayjay2018 · 07/04/2020 08:39

@Twitwooo I had an appointment last week, have a scan on Thursday and another midwife appointment next week. Last week the midwife was gloves and gowned and had a face mask. Home births are not an option in my area anymore (I couldn't have one anyway) and birth partners are only allowed in the birthing centre or delivery suite during active labour and up to 2 hours after the birth. I'm hoping not to have to stay in too long, although baby will need an ecg when born. Apparently they are desperate to get people back to their own homes as soon as possible.

Twitwooo · 07/04/2020 08:46

@Kayjay2018 yes same here with regards to birth partner but we have no one to watch my dd so will have to go in on my own. Have heard the same regarding them trying to let you get back home ASAP. Gotta do what you gotta do, as long as baby is happy and healthy :) we will just have a good story to tell at the end of this all

Kayjay2018 · 07/04/2020 08:53

@Twitwooo I'm lucky that my son is 16 so has been told he needs to look after the dogs! Made sure he is prepped to feed them (he is squeamish with there food). Your right, I'm in the headspace that I will do anything to get this one here safely and I totally understand the need for the rules. I'm contemplating making my own mask for my appointment of Thursday(I made DH one for shopping) as I read on another post a midwife saying they would appreciate it, several people were wearing them last time I went in

Mistymeow · 07/04/2020 09:19

@Catconfusion congratulations!! Is that a baby yoda hat? Adorable- where did you get it? I want one!
@Pop1234 congrats again buddy!

Ginmonkey84 · 07/04/2020 10:20

Hi ladies so so sorry I’ve been completely awol. Have been keeping an eye out on the thread once I found it again it disappeared for a while and I couldn’t quite figure out where it went lol had a really anxious last trimester so didn’t want to bombard anyone with my crazy thoughts (PTSD trigger) but doing much better now thankfully.

Anyhow my DD Theia Wren arrived at home as planned after a 3 1/2hr labour at 40+6 weeks - 2:27am on Mother’s Day 22nd March weighing 7lb 3. We had to be transferred for stitches by ambulance after but it was fine and home within the hour back into our own bed.

Congratulations to everyone!! Hope your all keeping well in the midst of these crazy times x
