This is a safe space and supportive thread for anyone who is pregnant following a loss.

We all understand the worry and anxiety that can come from being pregnant again following miscarriage/stillbirth/neonatal death.

Plenty of births on the last thread, congratulations to you all!

Let's start a fresh roll call below? I'll collate as we go.

Place marking so I can continue to keep up with you all! I know I'm rubbish at posting these days but you've all been so good to me and I want to keep up to watch all your rainbows arrive xxx

sadtoday21 · 04/03/2020 09:10

Ladies, apologies for the selfish post but need some advice and in pain right now.

I didn't have the sweep yesterday - the midwife said she would come to my house tomorrow to do it. BUT I've had really bad cramps all night since midnight until this morning (bad enough that I couldn't sleep through it and I have to breathe through it, really painful). The cramps come and go and I don't think there is any tightening in my belly, just really really bad cramps, worse than period ones. As soon as it stops, I feel totally normal. Are these early contractions? Could it be something else? I walked six miles homes from midwife yesterday and then had spicy soup for dinner, not sure if maybe this has set things off....39 weeks today.

InDreamland · 04/03/2020 09:16

@sadtoday21 please phone MAFU and get yourself in to be monitored! Really hiking you're okay and baby is fine. Maybe it is the start of labour but you must get yourself to MAFU.

InDreamland · 04/03/2020 09:17

*hoping nit hiking

sadtoday21 · 04/03/2020 09:19

The health visitor is supposed to come in 45 minutes, maybe I can wait for her?

InDreamland · 04/03/2020 09:22

She's not necessarily a trained midwife (some are some aren't). Phone MAFU, se what they say. Priority is making sure you and baby are okay, the HV can wait - we didn't see a HV until Bubsy was 14 days old!

sadtoday21 · 04/03/2020 09:59

Thanks @InDreamland I phoned MAU and they think its early stages of labour, said not to come in, take paracetamol etc. and call again when contractions closer together. I'm timing every 6-10 mins now, how close do they have to be to go in?

Beaglemum93 · 04/03/2020 10:06

@sadtoday21 it sounds like what I had in early labour! Mine were between 2 and 8 minutes apart but only lasted about 30 seconds. I was told to go in if they were lasting about a minute or I couldn't stick the pain. (I ended up having the induction drip to speed it up because my waters broke and they wanted him out within 24 hours. My labour kept starting and stopping though). Fingers crossed you'll have your little baby soon!

InDreamland · 04/03/2020 10:40

@sadtoday21 glad you called them and got advice. Very exciting that you're starting labour. My hospital advised calling to go in once contractions lasted a minute and were 5 minutes apart. However, I never had that experience because had induction and kept in after a trip to MAFU for very bloody show and labour progressed very quickly after induction so good job I was actually in the hospital. Fingers crossed labour isn't too long but also not as fast as mine was (too fast). Do you have a TENS machine at home? Think you were considering hiring one?

TwittleBee · 04/03/2020 10:55

Yeah that's sounds just like early labour to me, that's exactly how mine have been in my previous two labours @sadtoday21 ! Advice here for us is to go in once they're 4-5 minutes apart and last over a minute. But they're happy for you to go in if the pain gets too much, you have any worries etc.

@sadtoday21 exciting news. I think they say about five mins apart and contractions getting more painful. Just ring if unsure as they'll only send you home if they don't think your in active labour. Looking forward to another update soon. Good luck x

Mistymeow · 04/03/2020 14:06

I have no experience but my initial reaction to your post was eeeee sounds like this could be it! Glad you phoned in. Good luck and keep us posted. Sending love 💕

Very boring, FTM question but I need to get a nursing bra. I have a few basic ones from New Look but want to get something better from m&s. I don’t think I have the energy to book a fitting and I realise size may change after birth. Any recommendations? I’m not big busted (prior to pregnancy I was a 32B).

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 04/03/2020 18:00

Good luck @sadtoday21!!! Hope things progress quickly and smoothly. Thinking of you xxx

I would get fitted @Mistymeow. I think they say to do it at 37 weeks and again after birth. But then I'm big busted and once the milk came in bloody enormous 😳😂

TwittleBee · 04/03/2020 21:09

Looks like I'm having another preemie 😭 being transferred to a specialist hospital shortly as my placenta is detaching itself and been told to be prepared to have an EMCS to save my life

Rubyroost · 04/03/2020 21:32

Oh no @twittlebee I really thought this one was holding on. Have everything crossed for you and dood luck. Sending much love and my thoughts xx

Rubyroost · 04/03/2020 21:34

One the midwives who was crying for had theirs at 26 weeks and all is fine with her one year old. How many weeks are you now 24?

Rubyroost · 04/03/2020 21:34

Caring for me

fnej01 · 04/03/2020 21:49

Kayjay2018 · 04/03/2020 22:00

@TwittleBee thinking of you xx
@sadtoday21 hope things are progressing, your symptoms sounded very positive
@Mistymeow I'm rather small busted (have grown a big more this pregnancy than last) and have just bought some cheapie h and m nursing bras - hopefully they will get me through the early days then I can either order a different size or pop out and get measured for a better one.

Mistymeow · 04/03/2020 22:19

@TwittleBee oh my goodness I’m very worried for you, please keep us updated. You will be in the best place I’m sure xxx

Mistymeow · 04/03/2020 22:20

Thank you @Kayjay2018 and @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue I will do just that and will get measured in a few weeks.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 04/03/2020 23:56

Omg @TwittleBee you must be so frightened right now. You are in my thoughts and even though I'm not religious in a traditional sense, I'm praying for you and your little one that all goes ok. Sending love xxx

Beaglemum93 · 05/03/2020 00:29

How scary @TwittleBee! I'm thinking of you and hope you and baby are doing well.
