This is a safe space and supportive thread for anyone who is pregnant following a loss.

We all understand the worry and anxiety that can come from being pregnant again following miscarriage/stillbirth/neonatal death.

Plenty of births on the last thread, congratulations to you all!

Let's start a fresh roll call below? I'll collate as we go.

@ChikiTIKI good luck for today. I’ll be thinking of you. It’s so exciting you get to meet your little one very soon! Xx

ChikiTIKI · 30/03/2020 07:16

Thanks @Rubyroost and @Catconfusion

It's today!!! EEk!!!! I can't believe it's today. Still telling myself it might be rescheduled. I can't believe it 😀 hopefully will have some good news to share with you all later ❤️

Catconfusion · 30/03/2020 07:20

@ChikiTIKI can’t wait. You will be ok I’m sure and it’s so exciting. I can’t imagine they’ll reschedule without a very good reason. My hospital are trying to get as many ladies through as they can. Enjoy your special day! Xx

squirrelnutkins1 · 30/03/2020 08:07

@ChikiTIKI all the best!!!!

Bluebelltulip · 30/03/2020 08:23

Good luck @ChikTIKI

Kayjay2018 · 30/03/2020 08:38

@ChikiTIKI I hope you have a really positive birth today and you are soon back safe at home with your little bundle!!

Mistymeow · 30/03/2020 08:55

@ChikiTIKI hope it goes well, I’m sure it will!
@Rubyroost she’s a bit little to fit into the baby bouncer but she’s starting to settle more in her bassinet which is something. Her tongue tie seems to prevent her from opening her mouth fully to latch but the nipple shields are helping. Hoping to get an appointment through this week- we have been referred.
@TinyPaws getting very close now, really pleased your partner is still allowed to attend.

I looked at the checks the doctor did in hospital and everything came back as normal, except where it said “other/physical exam- abnormality suspected- referral”. I was told that because of her small size they wanted her to do a paediatric appointment and I’m assuming that’s what this is about, but it’s worried me. They would tell me if they were concerned wouldn’t they? She is feeding well and putting on weight.

ChikiTIKI · 30/03/2020 12:41

Thanks everyone 😀 just waiting at the moment for our turn, there's one other person before us this afternoon. I am so hungry and thirsty, think lunch is being served at the moment 😬 smells good. Will be in touch afterwards ❤️

Rubyroost · 30/03/2020 15:51

@Mistymeow I'm guessing they ticked that box because it said referral rather than anything else. It's good they're being thorough and that you'll be seen by a paedritician.

It's worrying when they're new though and every little thing you worry about. Should they have the ridges on their head? Should their nipples look like that? Etc etc.

My little one has a sacral dimple which was recorded by midwife but no one said anything so I read about it and on some cases it can be linked to spinal issues. So I worried myself about that, will just have to wait for 6 week check now, I've chilled out about it now as more likely to be nothing and there's little I can do anyway. Midwife obviously thought nothing of it and I'm guess g the doctor saw it when they did their check.

ChikiTIKI · 30/03/2020 23:12

Sorry I dropped off the map for a bit there... Just to let you all know me and baby DD are doing well 😀 tired but well! We are constant feeding at the moment and have been pretty much since we were in recovery. Pain OK at the moment, feeling comfortable. She keeps making out like she wants to sleep but then won't let me out her down 😅 think catheter is coming out in an hour 😬 sending love to all, will post something more informative tomorrow ❤️ glad you're all there ❤️ xxxx

ChikiTIKI · 30/03/2020 23:13

P. S. I cut the cord myself!! The blood from it splashed in my eye 😂 xxxx

Rubyroost · 30/03/2020 23:42

CONGRATULATIONS! Wow you're quick with the catheter. I had mine taken out 6am the following morning and baby was born 11.39. Pain will be okay @ChikiTIKI but you'll feel it tomorrow when everything wears off. Take the painkillers whilst they're offering them to you. Morphine the lot xx

Mistymeow · 31/03/2020 02:38

@ChikiTIKI congratulations!! So glad it all went well. Mint tea is also your friend :) and definitely take all the drugs offered, really made a difference. Two weeks on from mine and I feel fit and well.
@Rubyroost that’s very true. The hormones don’t help. She also has a sacral dimple as noted by the midwife but spine is normal. Think it’s quite common but it’s natural to worry in these early weeks.

ChikiTIKI · 31/03/2020 04:08

Thanks @Rubyroost and @Mistymeow ❤️ I have been taking co-codamol type stuff, paracetamol and ibuprofen. Not had any morphine but doing OK. The worst stomach pain was when the spinal was wearing off but it suddenly got a lot better. Think it was just weird and pins and needle like. I have stood up once, and walked to the toilet once needing a wee but couldn't get any out. Going to drink more water now and try again. Feeding again after waking her up from a 4 hour sleep. Shame I didn't get to sleep for 4 hours too! I wonder if I will stay another night purely for the comfort of the adjustable bed. Suppose if I get moved out of this recovery area I will be on a normal bed after that and will just go home 🙂 I'm so itchy all over still! Argh!! Xxxx

Bluebelltulip · 31/03/2020 05:19

Congratulations @ChikTIKI

squirrelnutkins1 · 31/03/2020 09:14

Congrats! @ChikiTIKI

Catconfusion · 31/03/2020 10:39

Us @ChikiTIKI congratulations. So pleased she’s here safely! I’m planing on holding off the morphine. My Dad and Gran we’re both allergic. I’ve never had it before so not sure I want to risk having a reaction. Obviously if the pain is unbearable I’ll have too.

What do they think the ichy feeling is? Is it to do with the spinal? I think the spinal is my biggest worry as I have low blood pressure so worried it will make me ill. I will discuss at preop.

I don’t blame you for wanting the comfy bed for another night. Hope you’re home reasonably soon though! Xx

InDreamland · 31/03/2020 11:06

Congratulations @ChikiTIKI lovely news x

@Rubyroost SIL has given us since sort of baby seat thing but not taken it out yet. I thought she may be too small still for it but I'll have a look. She is a small baby, was only 5lbs 12.5oz at birth. 3 weeks ago when she was weighed she was 6lbs 3oz.

Rubyroost · 31/03/2020 11:07

It took me ages to wee @ChikiTIKI I had to drink a ridiculous amount of water to get it going. I bet you've weed by now tho. 👍

Rubyroost · 31/03/2020 11:09

@InDreamland I put my little one in swing seat at 2 weeks. He was 16lb 15 when born. Im not sure of size requirements, but being a second time mum I'm a lot more gung ho about these type of things.

Rubyroost · 31/03/2020 11:10

No he was 15lb 16

Rubyroost · 31/03/2020 11:11

I lied 6lb 15

InDreamland · 31/03/2020 11:12

@Rubyroost that's still way bigger than Bubsy.

InDreamland · 31/03/2020 11:12

Oh Haha! Remove the 1.

Rubyroost · 31/03/2020 11:28

I would have put her in, but then I'm irresponsible probs. 😂
