We did have bad news at our dating scan last time and so we never did an announcement.
When he arrived we did an announcement of his birth and death because it felt he deserved that. His life still meant something.

@Treaclepie19 am I right thinking your scan is coming up? Mine is Tuesday. Defo starting to see a little bump forming as there when I wake up so not bloat anymore (don’t think) and chest has got even bigger with a nice big blue vein running thru one! Welcome newcomers 💁‍♀️ Xx

I feel like my bump is flattening so I ma nervous. Will have to wait and see!

We told people at 7 week this time after our consultant did and early scan. We had bad news at 20 week scan last time so thought why not tell people asap this time. Which has actually been really nice and comforting. Whenever you are ready is the best time.

@Treacle81my scan is also on Tuesday! Feeling slightly anxious about having to go alone but better than the other day. I think my tummy is getting a bit rounded too. I had no bump at all last time so it's nice too see! Boobs haven't grown and I'm still in the same size clothes.

When do people start buying maternity clothes? I have a zero clue about maternity clothes! Any ideas where to buy online?

Got the gender results back from nub tech. They are saying 90% chance of a girl. His is exactly what I thought from looking at the scan and reading the theory. Not going to tell anyone yet as it's not 100% reliable. Will wait til 20w scan and if they agree then we'll share. Obvs happy with whatever we have, but would love another girl.

@Buzz22 I think last time I got maternity jeans at around 16w. I wear skinny jeans and while the legs were fine I was getting annoyed with the hair tie around the button trick. I got under the bump jeans from ASOS which I loved. I still have them for this time. Might treat myself to a new pair. They are £25. With tops it wasnt until 20+w, but I was using a belly band to cover any possible gap.

Hi ladies, I had my 12 week scan today though baby is measuring at 13 wk6 days putting me with a due date of 26th September. This is my birthday so how funny, I came on my due date, be strange if this baby did! Baby was doing a headstand the whole time so the scan lasted ages as he tried to look at everything he needed to. Baby had hiccups as well which was so cute.

I live off leggings and baggy T-shirt’s - even wear it to work all the time . Some managers tell me off 😂☺️ But I just say next time I wear a smart blazer - I’m got some asos maternity leggings - saw some mamalicious jeans . I just want to feel happy about being pregnant but at the same I feel worried if I get complacent something will jinx it .

@MsSian93 that is such a cute picture . I share a birthday with my dad I took it over when I was born 😂🤣 our cakes always had both our names and until I got married we always celebrated it together my siblings were soo jealous and I loved it !!!

Awww that sounds lovely @zaalfruit! My mum told me I was due on 3rd October which is my latest estimated due date for my baby. I ended up coming early in mid September - wonder if that happens with this little guy/gal. Then we'd share a birthday too!

My 4yo was due the day before my husbands birthday but came 17 days early.
If this one comes early they might be born on my husbands birthday 😂 It's also his brother's birthday! 5 years apart.

Does anyone have a preference for over them bump or under the bump jeans/leggings? I didn't realise you could buy them both ways?! I'm lost in a new world of maternity clothing!

Lol @Treaclepie19 that’s so funny would your husband mind . I really wanted a July baby but my husband was so against it I wanted my first baby to be in the same month as me and my husband - but he wasn’t haven’t it said it’s so unfair because it makes that baby special .

@MrsD1990 that’s so exciting - when kids are little they love sharing their birthday !

I wonder which of us will be early my due dates moved to 29th September but I feel like it will be an October baby I was 3 weeks late !!

@Buzz22 I'm a size 16/18 on the bottom so I go for over bump to keep the wobbly bits in.

@Zaalfruit nope! He says his birthday can be cancelled Haha.
Mine is May so miles away from all of theirs 😂
The little boy we lost was born in December but was due in April so if he had been okay then he would've been very close to my birthday!

I'm worried this time I'll be overdue. I won't know what to do with myself after being 2 and a half weeks early last time 😂

Oh I’m so excited @Buzz22 & @Treaclepie19 not much longer now . I never went for over the bump stuff as gonna be height of summer and imagine we will be v hot n sweaty with extra cover over tummy! xx

@Buzz22 I bought both under and over bump jeans, but preferred the under bump. I found that my belly never really felt full enough to fill the over bump bit. But then I dont think I'll have that problem this time round. I also found the over bump bit felt a bit warm and sweaty in the summer. But it's completely a personal choice.

@Treaclepie19, I know what you mean. I was induced last time at 38w 4d so I have no idea what I feels like to go into labour. If I reach that point I'll be completely bricking it

@Treacle81 tbh I'm not sure why I bought any jeans as my now 4yo was the same sort of timescale with being due mid September so I just lived in dresses. It was soooooo hot that summer.

@Spark27 with my 4yo my waters broke and then my other experience is being induced for the termination for medical reasons with our other son so all very different and before either of those I had a miscarriage at 8+4.
I wonder what's in store this time...

For some reason I haven't even thought about being early! Have been assuming I'll go overdue, not really sure why! Guess I need to make sure I'm ready by mid September at the latest!

How long before your due date are you all planning on starting your maternity leave?

@Buzz22 I bought over the bump, but that's cause I like my leggings pulled up high (to hold in jiggly bits) not sure how well this will go with summer though

@Zaalfruit I was also really late at just over 3 weeks. My newborn pics I'm both yellow and reaaaaallly long. They don't get shown much haha.

@bluemoon2468 I think I'm planning sometime in August or September depending on how I feel. I'm self-employed so I can really just choose to stop when I've had enough without much notice.

@bluemoon2468, not sure. Last time I took 2 weeks, but then only got a few days as she was dragged out early.

This time I think I'll be more flexible depending on how I feel and how much leave I have. If we're on lockdown for a long time, and my holiday gets cancelled (looking likely) I might have a shed load of leave by Sept. So if DD is back in nursery and I get some peace I might take 3 or 4 weeks (I only do 3 day weeks now). But I could be desperate to be out of the house and in work by then! xx

@bluemoon2468 same I’m convinced my baby will be late as me, my brother and sister were 2 weeks late and my niece was 10 days late. I know it doesn’t work like that but it’s how I think. Plus I will then be less disappointed when I go over then! As with all babies they will do what they like.

I have no idea on maternity leave, I would rather go for a date near my due date and then change to earlier than set it too early and be waiting around especially if it’s late. I might use holiday before maternity leave though.

Haven't posted in a while as had some complications and anything like this made me more anxious! But sorry if this has been done a million times over but I have my scan on Monday and been told my husband can't come, hows everyone else managing this?

Thanks for all the over the bump/under the bump advice ladies. Totally forgot it will be summer so maybe I'll get some maternity leggings when I need them and avoid jeans.

@Zaalfruit I'm hoping I wont be early but I'm high risk for pre term labour. Want to keep this baby in for as long as possible!

@blankiesandunicorns hope all is ok? My scan is Tuesday. I've not had a call but hospital website says partner cant come. Not taking it well to be honest!

@blankiesandunicorns and @buzz22 Mine is Tuesday and we haven’t had a call but seen on the maternity Facebook group that they are now saying no partners from Monday. It’s just really disappointing as yesterday they said one was allowed. I completely understand with CV everything changes all the time. My husband is so upset, I can’t really say anything to make it better. They say no mobile phones in there either so cannot record. I guess we just have to get on with it but it’s still really disappointing being our first. I totally understand why though!

I would have expected a call by now as scan is Tues morning so hoping it means I’m allowed someone with me 🤞🏼xx
