@Quiffy I am exactly the same, as long as I am eating, sickness is manageable! I am currently sat in the car waiting for DH to come out of Tesco- it's like Russian roulette when we get home and open the bags and I have to figure out how to make meals out of what he managed to get!!

I too am devastated about McDonald's- could so eat some nuggets right now!!!!

booroo · 28/03/2020 11:19

Can I join you guys? Due 1st of October :)

Treaclepie19 · 28/03/2020 11:45

I'm not vegan either, before getting pregnant I was vegetarian but I've gone onto eating a bit of meat now and then. Which I feel guilty about. Just trying to eat what I can at the moment and then I'll get back to normal 😳

CharlieBalf · 28/03/2020 11:55

Welcome! @booroo Is this your first? You're a few days ahead of me, due date 5th October 😊

BntTowers · 28/03/2020 12:05

@Zaalfruit I'm not too bad with my veg, there is some I can't stomach though. I've been making smoothies the past few days so I feel like at least I'm getting some goodness that way!

otterbaby · 28/03/2020 12:16

Welcome @booroo 😊

Starting to wonder when we'll get our 20 week scan appointment dates? I filled out an appt form with reception at my 12 week scan on Tuesday but I'm anxious to have a date to work towards...

booroo · 28/03/2020 12:30

Hi guys :)
This is my third I have two girls age 4 and 12 , I got a letter yesterday my 20 week scan is on the 16th of may, they weren't taking booking at my 12 week scan so was a nice suprise to get in the post to look forward to.. although hoping by some miracle things may have settled down and I'll get to bring my husband with me next time Grin

Treacle81 · 28/03/2020 12:31

Hi 💁‍♀️ @booroo, welcome! Have you had your 12 wk scan yet? A few of us have and a few have them approaching. @otterbaby I’ve been hearing that the next scan might not be happening as not considered essential, were you told otherwise? Managed a work out before I ate this morning which is a great sign, as usually so nauseous first thing 😃. 3 sleeps till I see my baby and 2 sleeps till my mam comes back to me!! Exciting times! xx

@Treacle81 ah, I was told the opposite! I was told the 20 week scan is the only other essential scan as that's where they check for anomalies. All of my other provisional scans (28, 32, 36) are classed as 'amber' so could be cancelled if things continue to get worse.

booroo · 28/03/2020 12:46

Hi
Yes had my 12 week scan which I had to attend alone (although sad for my husband) it actually was ok everybody was lovely, I really can't see 20 week scans being cancelled as the are so important for checking for anomaly's.
Will try and attach a pic of scan but don't know if it will because I'm a new poster on this acc and locked myself out of my old one Blush

LexiM · 28/03/2020 12:51

Welcome to the group @booroo

I would be surprised if the 20 week scans were cancelled as they are important too. My midwife said she expects scans to go ahead as normal, although that was a couple of weeks ago. 3 more sleeps for me until my 12 week scan (not that I’m counting or anything!!)

Feeling awful again today, what is it about Saturdays?! I always feel worse at the weekend recently, not that it makes much difference at the moment in terms of my plans. Usually eating something helps but not today.

Treacle81 · 28/03/2020 13:01

Oh I hope you guys are right and yes I thought it was just as important to see growth etc. Thanks xx @LexiM feel better soon xx

I agree about scans, they'll do minimum of 12 and 20 week scans. Others may be cancelled.
My 20 week scan isn't far away because it's actually at 18+1. I'm assuming because the consultant needs to keep a close eye on us and baby's heart.
I'm so pleased my dating scan is finally in reach. Only got to wait until Wednesday!
12+6 today Smile

I'm trying to be positive and just be excited about baby rather than worrying about the world.

Welcome @booroo Smile

bluemoon2468 · 28/03/2020 13:46

I agree, surely 20 week scans wouldn't be cancelled - they're the most important one, even more so than the 12 week scan.

Buzz22 · 28/03/2020 14:08

Hello and welcome @booroo

Cant imagine 20 week scans will be cancelled. Problems found with baby at these scans can sometimes be life threatening for the mother.
I was due to have extra scans, and cervical length scans every 2 weeks. I have no idea what will happen to them! I'm due to see consultant monday so I'm sure he'll let me know the plan going forward.

Also eating a diet of mainly crisps! Really helps to settle my stomach when the nausea kicks in. Vegetables have been off the radar recently!

Zaalfruit · 28/03/2020 14:16

Welcome @booroo !!

The 20 weeks scans are so important ! I hope they don’t cancel mine !

blankiesandunicorns · 28/03/2020 15:11

I find a lot of these posts about 20 weeks scan quite reassuring. Iv got a few weeks yet but have been worrying about it, that it might be cancelled

Buzz22 · 28/03/2020 15:40

It's a bit long, but I've copied and pasted this information from the royal college of gynecologists and obstetricians website. Maybe reassuring to people worried about scand or appointments being cancelled.

Q. Should I attend my antenatal and postnatal appointments?
Yes. It is really important that you continue to attend your scheduled routine care when you are well.

Maternity care is essential, and has been developed over many years to reduce complications in mothers and babies. There is a potential risk of harm to you and your baby if you don’t attend your appointments, even in the context of coronavirus.

If you are well, you should be able to attend your antenatal care as normal. If you have symptoms of possible coronavirus infection, you should contact your community midwife to postpone routine visits until after the isolation period is over.

At this time, it is particularly important that you help your maternity team take care of you. If you have had an appointment cancelled or delayed, and are not sure of your next contact with your maternity team, please let them know by using the contact numbers given to you at booking.

The following practical advice may be helpful:

If you have a routine scan, appointment or visit due in the coming days, please contact your maternity unit for advice and a plan. You will still need to attend but the appointment may change due to staffing requirements.
Some appointments may be conducted on the telephone or using videoconferencing, provided there is a reasonable expectation that observations, such as blood pressure or other tests are not needed.
The recommendation that your bump will be measured from around 26 weeks of pregnancy should be observed by your maternity team unless you are in the recommended 14 day self isolation period.
If you are between appointments, please wait to hear from your maternity team.
If you are attending more regularly in pregnancy, then your maternity team will be in touch with plans.
If you miss an appointment and haven’t heard from your maternity team, please contact them to rearrange the appointment.
Whatever your personal situation please consider the following:

If you have any concerns, you will still be able to contact your maternity team but please note they may take longer to get back to you
If you have an urgent problem related to your pregnancy but not related to coronavirus, get in touch using the same emergency contact details you already have. Please do not contact this number unless you have an urgent problem
If you have symptoms suggestive of coronavirus contact your maternity services and they will arrange the right place and time to come for your visits. You should not attend a routine clinic.
You will be asked to keep the number of people with you at appointments to a minimum. This will include being asked to not bring children with you to maternity appointments and on occasions your maternity unit may request that you attend your antenatal appointments alone to aid infection control and help keep staff safe from transmission.
There may be a need to reduce the number of antenatal visits. You will be told if this is necessary. Do not reduce your number of visits without agreeing first with your maternity team

blankiesandunicorns · 28/03/2020 16:35

Thank you @Buzz22 that is helpful, sounds like they will be trying to keep scans and appointments

esmerelda1988 · 28/03/2020 16:41

@Buzz22 please could you update on what your consultant says? I'm not due to see the consultant until 30th April but am a high risk pregnancy needing probably fortnightly cervical length scans and desperately worried these will be cancelled and I'll lose the baby Sad

BntTowers · 28/03/2020 16:42

I don't think they will cancel the 12 and 20 week scans. They are too important. Possibly the later ones, but hopefully it will have cleared by the time we all get there!

We got Disney+, just watched Toy Story 4 and balled my eyes out at the ending... Pregnancy hormones did not help with that one!

Glitterbug86 · 28/03/2020 17:25

Hi ladies. Thanks for the messages earlier. Just wanted to update ye that my private scan did end up going ahead after all, and all looked well 😊. The nuchal measurement, I believe he said was .09 - maybe it was .9 - but I think it was the former. But either way no cause for concern. It was a great reassurance seeing baby again and the heart thumping away.

They dated me as 6th October (by LMP i would've been 3rd Oct) but the 6th was actually the date I was going by myself anyways so was nice to have it confirmed 🙂

Early Oct babies part 2!
Spark27 · 28/03/2020 17:49

Great scan pic @Glitterbug86, and so pleased you got to go for the scan. x

Buzz22 · 28/03/2020 18:21

@Glitterbug86 yay very pleased you got to have your scan. Lovely photo!

@esmerelda1988 yes of course. My plan is to ring the hospital Monday morning and see if I need to go in to see him or if he can do it over the phone. Im assuming the cervical length scans wouldnt begin for another few weeks anyway... although I have no idea to be honest?! I'm due there on the Tuesday too for my dating scan and ideally want to spend as little time in the hospital as possible.
