Yay, great news @Zaalfruit x

SkyBlue20 · 15/03/2020 13:35

Amazing news, @Zaalfruit - you must be so relieved! 💕

Glitterbug86 · 15/03/2020 13:35

Amazing news @Zaalfruit, so happy for you. I'd say the relief is immense x

BntTowers · 15/03/2020 13:42

@zaalfruit, Oh, that's amazing news! Try to relax and drink a load of cold water, see if it gets baby moving a bit! How about getting some ice pops in to help with the liquid intake?
Ice pops is all I wanted from the shops, but I completely forgot when there, going to have to get some tomorrow.

Buzz22 · 15/03/2020 14:31

@Zaalfruit I'm so pleased for you! What a relief. Been thinking of you today.
Did they say why you needed to drink more water?

BecLJ · 15/03/2020 16:14

That's brilliant news @Zaalfruit! Congratulations.

I was feeling really concerned due to pains and a little bleeding I'd had so I actually went for a private scan today. Saw the baby moving, waving it's legs and arms and heard its heartbeat. It was amazing. They also told me I was 11 weeks 5 days so actually due 30 Sept a week earlier than I'd thought.

Going to try and stop worrying now!

KelMcC · 15/03/2020 16:21

That’s great news @Zaalfruit Smile

LexiM · 15/03/2020 16:35

Great news @Zaalfruit - I am really pleased for you!

Zaalfruit · 15/03/2020 16:35

They said that I’m very dehydrated. That they can tell by the scan - but I drink a lot of water . They said that the small intestine looks clogged which are signs of extreme dehydration. I’m not sure how I’m losing water . But relived at this moment that baby is fine . Just got 29 More weeks to go plus 1 day 😂

@BecLJ that’s great news. Flowers when is your Nhs scan ? Do they tell you any reasons for bleeding ?

BecLJ · 15/03/2020 16:47

My NHS scan is 24 March Smile

No they couldn't tell any reason. They could see what looked like implantation bleeding leftover which apparently takes a while to all come out / be absorbed.

In terms of dehydration I also find now matter how much I drink I always feel a bit dehydrated and get headaches so easily now!

Buzz22 · 15/03/2020 19:39

@BecLJ yay. Fantastic all round today! My turn tomorrow morning at early pregnancy unit. Had a bleed the other day and already considered high risk after losing my last baby at 22 weeks in November.
Feeling terrified. Not sure I'll be sleeping tonight...

BntTowers · 15/03/2020 20:44

@buzz22 good luck for tomorrow, make sure to let us know how you get on. Sorry about your loss. Try to rest as much as possible.

I've had horrid morning sickness all day, from the moment I woke up. Not actually been sick yet just felt terrible. I've also had a stretching feeling up my torso all afternoon.

BecLJ · 15/03/2020 21:20

Good luck tomorrow @Buzz22 and hope you manage to get some sleep tonight

Spark27 · 15/03/2020 21:32

Great news @BecLJ.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow @Buzz22, hope all is ok. Flowers

My morning sickness seems to have moved to afternoon sickness the last few days. Couldn't manage any dinner last night, but then had a big cooked breakfast this morning. But by 1400 I was feeling terrible again. Snacking eases it a bit, but the thought of eating makes me feel so sick. Also had some weird feelings, probably like stretching too. Not painful thankfully.

Zaalfruit · 15/03/2020 22:46

@Buzz22 good luck - and will be sending positive vibes your way x Please try and get some rest I know way easier said then done .

Irony - projectile vomited today outside Asda , the worst thing I have ever done Absolutely mortified , hair and everything covered . I actually started to cry because I was so embarrassed , my husbands trainers everything .

@Spark27 I hope it eases up for you x
@BecLJ I’m so over water now, it just annoys me. Slept for 2 and half hours to get over my headache not much luck.

LostinAusten2 · 15/03/2020 23:04

@Zaalfruit - so glad for you on the scan results 😊 And massive sympathies on the being sick in public - still can’t believe I was sick on myself on my street 🙄

Great news @BecLJ too! Such a relief...

And fingers crossed for you @Buzz22, really hope it all goes well.

I’m feeling so rubbish I reckon it’s a day off work tomorrow - really hoping this nausea lifts soon, this is like the never-ending-freshers-week-hangover!

BntTowers · 16/03/2020 07:25

I'm going into the office today, but if I don't have a laptop by the end of the day I think I'm going to call in sick. With how I was feeling yesterday and I still feel a bit ropey today with very little sleep I don't think it's a bad shout. Saying they will give me priority and then giving others laptops first is kinda annoying... Another reason I might not be going back there after mat leave, or not back for very long.

LexiM · 16/03/2020 07:40

I hope you get a laptop @- you must be one of the more required cases for one.

My husband is pushing for me to ask to work from home, I work in a very small office anyway and my assistant is meant to be on Jury service the next two weeks (I know however sometimes you can get there and they dismiss you!) Part of me thinks he’s overreacting when I don’t see many people anyway but he’s saying if I can work from home why wouldn’t I. Also there just isn’t a lot of research for first trimester and with less than 2 weeks until I’m out of that I will feel better. I think I’m going to tell my boss I’m pregnant today so I can discuss it with her.

Lucylou37 · 16/03/2020 08:03

@lexiM @BntTowers I'm not sure what to do either! Nobody at work knows and I had hoped to wait until my twelve week scan to tell them! I wasn't too worried at first, but now I'm getting a little more concerned! Tempted to tell my boss at work and ask her advice, but really don't want my wider team to know! Luckily we all have laptops so are set up to work from home already

BntTowers · 16/03/2020 08:06

@Lucylou37 that's what I did last week. Told my line manager, the MD and HR no one else. I think it might be wise to say something, just so you can take whatever precautions you want to.
I'm walking into work now and there have been much less people out and about than normal.

LexiM · 16/03/2020 08:19

My husbands company have gone for everyone to stay at home working from this week, but it’s easier as they have that set up anyway/everything is digital. I was also going to wait @Lucylou37 and was also feeling very relaxed about it all but feel I should really say something now so they are aware for my safety because currently they think I’m young and will be fine. Which is probably still the case but you do feel differently about it when pregnant. They say they don’t believe it affects the baby but from what I’ve read a fever can be dangerous in the first trimester so I think I may as well be careful as it can be done but totally don’t want to be overreacting here! Ah it’s so hard!

SkyBlue20 · 16/03/2020 08:32

Great news @BecLJ!

@Buzz22 Good luck this morning! Positive thoughts being sent your way 💕

@Zaalfruit Oh no, the sickness sounds horrible, you poor thing! Hopefully it was a one off 🤞🏼

@lexim good luck telling your boss, how do you think they’ll react?

I’m still going in to the office for now but very much playing it by ear. We’re a tiny team of four and our office block isn’t huge so my main concern is the train in - I’m thinking I’ll start driving if I need to but it’s also really easy for us to work from home so will just see what’s what for a bit.

Am really excited that I can now say our scan is next week! SO nervous as feeling so much better but trying to keep positive. Husband and I have both taken the day off work so we can go for lunch afterwards and text friends or, god forbid, be at home together if it’s bad news. Fingers crossed for the former!!

Lucylou37 · 16/03/2020 09:17

Hi @LexiM @BntTowers thanks so much for replying! I think I will speak to her today and see what she thinks! Do you both work in London? I'm not so worried about the office, it's more the commute on the tube every day that I'm starting to worry about! Hope you're all well and looking after yourselves xxxx

JKbabyOct2020 · 16/03/2020 10:08

Hi I’m new on here, expecting my first in October following IVF Smile
Just to note that those of you worried about COVID-19 during pregnancy, you probably know already but while there is little evidence that it can be passed on to baby in pregnancy there was actually a baby born with the virus in the UK recently Sad - I believe mum was being treated for possible Pneumonia. Anyway, I work in primary care (15 years now) & although the evidence is limited I would say that it’s best to be careful, because we are pregnant our bodies are working overtime to make the baby (including our immune system) so it won’t be as strong as it usually is; hence why pregnant ladies are encouraged to have a flu jab for instance because they are more susceptible to viruses during pregnancy. I would definitely advise telling your employer because they should be risk assessing you at each trimester I would have thought (regardless of covid-19) - & just be careful but (easier said than done, try not to worry). I hope this is helpful (don’t want to scaremonger) it’s just that I know for me personally it’s been a real challenge trying to get some concrete advice in this situation with my pregnancy until recently Halo

Quiffy · 16/03/2020 10:15

Hi everyone, I’ve had a nightmare weekend. All started on Friday, DH ordered dominoes as we both worked plate. I had a couple of slices of pizza, felt fine then a cookie. As soon as I ate it I knew I was going to be sick. So Friday night was an hour in the loo then bed.

Saturday woke up and felt just as bad. Spent whole day going from bed to loo. Couldn’t eat anything and drank very little. Sunday didn’t puke and managed to eat a bit so better, also discovered irn bru helps a bit. So spent full weekend in bed feeling sorry for myself and watching old GBBO.

I’ve got my bloods appointment this morning which I’m dreading. I’m not bothered at all about the needle but the anxiety of driving done, trying to find a car parking space and sitting in the waiting room has me feeling awful. Which is making my nausea great fun. At least I can take the day off! Last time I had bloods they couldn’t find a vein and I spent the rest of the day puking with sore poked arms 😅😩

@Zaalfruit that’s wonderful news! Congratulations, hope you can get some hydration

@BecLJ congratulations too!

@Buzz22 good luck today ❤️

@bluemoon2468 if you private message me the email you use on Facebook I’ll get an admin to add you :)

@BntTowers hope you get a laptop today, ridiculous they haven’t got you one yet! @LexiM @Lucylou37 if you can work from home I would, just to be safer due to fevers.

@skyblue20 scan next week is very exciting! It feels like an age it’s taking for them to come around.
