Poor family with coronavirus. You'd be so worried for your baby 😔

We have a soft play party today and it's my best friends son so we all really want to go. I'm hesitant though 😩

Spark27 · 14/03/2020 07:59

It must be so horrid to be in a different hospital to your child, on top of all the worry. When my DD was born she went to SCBU for a few days and just being in a separate ward was horrible. Even though once I was mobile I could see her whenever I wanted.

Our toddler dance class has been cancelled cos the teacher is ill (not corona), so looking forward to a more relaxed morning. Got to brave tescos though, urgh. And DD woke me early as she'd wet through her nappy

Indigogirl88 · 14/03/2020 08:10

Oh man I need to brave the food shop, not easy at the best of times!

Zaalfruit · 14/03/2020 08:29

I went shops yesterday - nothing just empty shelf’s. I am not even stock piling wanted to make a nice dinner for my husband on Saturday to break it down to him about Sunday and how I was feeling. Might try and brave it again today - online shopping isn’t working giving me delivery dates on Tesco for next month ...

Morning all!

@KelMcC Good work making it through a wedding! Hope you had fun ☺️

@MrsD1990 sounds like a lovely day, enjoy telling everyone! 💕

@Treaclepie19 Sure you’ll be fine, just lots of hand washing and no face touching (did anybody else not realise quite how much they touched their face until this all started?!)

Oh god we need to tackle a food shop, too - not looking forward to that one bit! But first, we’re off to see my best friend and her kids. Was thinking about telling her but I think I’m going to wait - it’s only 12 days until the scan so once that’s all done and everything is ok then we’ll start spreading the word a bit more ☺️

Treaclepie19 · 14/03/2020 09:04

Gosh yes I had no clue I touched my face so much!

Good luck with the food shop @SkyBlue20! I didn't have much luck yesterday.

LexiM · 14/03/2020 09:43

@KelMcC I’m impressed you lasted that long too. I’m with @MrsD1990 an hour shopping trip is more than enough for me at the moment! 😂 I was actually shocked at how tired that makes me.

@SkyBlue20 totally agree on the face touching, I’m really bad and it’s hard to stop. I really feel for that family with the newborn how scary for them. I see they said they will be doing further investigation into whether the baby had it before or caught during the birth. Will be useful for everyone to have more information but I appreciate they only have what they know from other cases to advise us on currently. Plus realistically what can we all do more than any other person to stop getting it.

Indigogirl88 · 14/03/2020 15:38

Oh god I hit asda today and regretted the decision instantly! I've got food but no loo roll or paracetamol lol!

Spark27 · 14/03/2020 16:16

@Indigogirl88 it's just ridiculous isn't it. We dont need any loo roll for a while, but now I'm worrying that when we do we wont be able to get any. I managed to get a bottle of calpol and 1 box of paracetamol earlier.

I went for a nap earlier when my DD did and since I've woken up I feel awful. Proper nauseous and really dehydrated (but the thought of drinking makes me feel sick). So unfair that you can feel this bad without it being alcohol related Gin

MsSian93 · 14/03/2020 17:12

My midwife is moving fast - had a letter through booking in my glucose test for June today! Also had a letter for a consultant appointment in April but can not for the life of me remember why she referred me now Confused

LexiM · 14/03/2020 17:52

We didn’t do a full food shop yesterday because it was so crowded. Pasta was the number one thing gone! We are currently probably the opposite on stock piling 😂 there were so many staff in there collecting for online shoppers too!

@Spark27 sorry you are feeling so rough, I hope it passes soon. I’ve felt so drained today, except for some housework I’ve done nothing but sit/nap and feel so tired it’s ridiculous.

@MsSian93 glad they are so efficient! I have to have a glucose test as well because my Dad’s diabetic.

Indigogirl88 · 14/03/2020 20:37

@MsSian93 that is organised I've only had my booking appointment and just got the scan date in. I hope we are all still able to have our scans!

Dp has been making a "joke" about lack of dtd and me sleeping early evening but I'm beginning to believe him, so I feel a bit down about it. Also I'm feeling super nauseous tonight which isn't helping matters! Sad

Indigogirl88 · 14/03/2020 20:37

Also is anyone else's hormones suddenly ramped up? I keep crying at random things and I've been fine up till now!

Treaclepie19 · 14/03/2020 20:44

@Indigogirl88 I cried on the way home from picking my son up from nursery the other day because some children had been mean to him.
Like actually cried in the street 😳🙄

Buzz22 · 14/03/2020 22:03

@Zaalfruit nothing on the shelves here on the south coast either. Took me forever to track down hand soap and sent poor DP to every supermarket looking for loo roll!

@Indigogirl88 hormones are insane at the moment. I cried last night. Have terrible temper with my partner at the moment. Also feeling guilty about not being able to DTD but not currently allowed to due to consultants advice.

Question to all...if you have had a previous pregnancy when did you start showing? Is anyone showing now?

Treaclepie19 · 14/03/2020 23:13

@Buzz22 with my 4yo I was barely showing at 20 weeks.
This time I put on a dress today and looked 6 months pregnant. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow 😳

Glitterbug86 · 14/03/2020 23:23

@Zaalfruit How have you been feeling since? What time is your scan tomorrow? Will be keeping everything crossed for you. Hope you were able to chat to your hubby today and are feeling some relief from not keeping your worries all to yourself any longer x

SkyBlue20 · 15/03/2020 00:03

@Indigogirl88 I wouldn’t worry about not DTD - we haven’t since we found out we’re pregnant five weeks ago 😕 We were both a bit nervous to at first and now I’m just constantly tired, every time I sit down I fall asleep! Must be frustrating for the husband but I’m sure he understands. Sure we’ll get back to it soon, just need to get through the rest of this first trimester!

Didn’t end up doing a big shop today as was out much later than anticipated but did pop in to Aldi to pick up a few bits and they’ve now restricted purchases of everything to four of each item per person, which really seems to be working - there was toilet roll, pasta, cleaning stuff, just not much bread but it was quite late on in the day. Might be worth checking as they settle in to it and stock is distributed a bit more fairly!

SkyBlue20 · 15/03/2020 00:03

@Zaalfruit thinking of you for your scan tomorrow xx

Zaalfruit · 15/03/2020 06:23

@SkyBlue20 @Glitterbug86 thank you I think I slept about 2 hours. When I spoke to my husband he looked so disappointed and sad. He couldn’t even hide it. He tried his best to be optimistic - we haven’t spoken This evening much because I am Not sure he knows how to process it . I caught him googling missed miscarriages. I feel like I have a huge lump in my throat because I’m trying so hard not to cry. Will let everyone know the outcome.

Spark27 · 15/03/2020 07:19

@Zaalfruit, I have everything crossed for you today.

@Buzz22, trying to remember back....i think with my first i didn't get a bump until around 20w, but was 'wobbly' from about 17w. It grew during the day. I'm slim built and in the morning there wouldn't be much, just a solid little bump when I lay down (looked really odd as its location moved from side to side on different mornings), but when I stood it just looked like a wobbly midriff. Then during the day it popped a bit and turned more solid.
2nd time and I'm 12w tomorrow. Still flat in the am, but wobbly midriff from now. It grows during the day. Mixture of bloat and already loose muscles I think. I went back to pre pregnancy weight and clothes, but never been as toned.

MsSian93 · 15/03/2020 07:35

@LexiM Yeah both of my parents are diabetic so had no choice!

This has been one of the worst weeks for me. I have been so sick in the evenings after having nothing so far and i really can not control my hormones or my temper. It is putting a real strain on my relationship atm.

@Zaalfruit Will be thinking of you today and sending lots of love and hope x

Buzz22 · 15/03/2020 07:39

@Zaalfruit good luck today. I've just read your previous posts. Like others said symptoms do come and go at this stage. I know its impossible to be reassured until your scan though. I'm in a similar boat waiting for one at EPU tomorrow.
Will be thinking of you today. Sending all the positive vibes and crossed fingers xx

Zaalfruit · 15/03/2020 08:53

Thank you everyone , everyone here is so kind xx just waiting for it to hit 9.15 so we can leave . Feel so anxious - trying to stay calm and collected trying to be very logical , you can’t be upset over something that’s not meant to be and on the upside you can fit back into size 8 clothes from the weight lose . (10 weeks ago I was a size 12/14)

@Buzz22 , thank you and good luck to you x

@MsSian93 - ooh I hope the sickness eases up. Any time I feel my temper is flaring up I end the convo with my husband saying you did the easy part.

Zaalfruit · 15/03/2020 13:27

Hi everyone - thank you for all your thoughts and sweet words . We heard a heart beat and saw a picture . I have been told , that I need to drink more water and the baby is a lime size 4cm. I’m so relived now x
