@Glitterbug86 wonderful news!! So happy for you!

SkyBlue20 · 11/03/2020 10:44

Fab news, @Glitterbug86! What a lovely scan, too. 💕

SkyBlue20 · 11/03/2020 10:46

I’m feeling SO bloated and generally fat today! I’ve put on 4lbs since the start of this pregnancy and was quite slim to begin with, with a quite flat tummy, so am really noticing it already. I know it’s normal but it feels so early, think it’ll be better once there’s an actual bump, not just a bigger belly. Not an issue obviously, just a little moan.

Zaalfruit · 11/03/2020 10:55

@Glitterbug86 amazing news and the picture is so cute 🥰

Glitterbug86 · 11/03/2020 11:17

Thanks ladies 🥰

bluemoon2468 · 11/03/2020 11:50

@SkyBlue20 I feel you 🙌🏻 I'm quite slim and at 10+2 I definitely already have a little bump. It's rock hard and doesn't fluctuate so I'm pretty sure it's not bloat. I've also put on weight generally and I know it's stupid but it's getting me down a bit. I feel really unattractive. I think it's just that after years of really beating myself up about putting on weight and trying to be really vigilant about it I'm now putting on weight without any control over it and it feels so weird to just have to accept it and not try and lose it 🙈 I blame diet culture/fat shaming/the patriarchy haha.

WhippetMumma · 11/03/2020 12:46

46BecLJ my due date is 4 days before my 30th birthday too. I'd actually been planning a birthday party that I've now had to cancel which is a shame. 31st will have to be party time instead lol.

Over the last few days everything seems to have taken 10X more effort than usual and my palette is definately changing. I don't fancy any chocolate (and I always fancy chocolate - is this even my baby!?!? lol), I threw up after chewing into a blackcurrent sweet (usually one of my faves) and butter on toast just tasted weird (Hubby confirmed it was me and not the food).
I'm finding I just don't have any appetite to eat at all so I'm having to force myself... I think the constant metallic taste in my mouth is contributing to this though. I kinda imagined myself being an eating machine when pregnant - this is the opposite :( Mind you, I have a few pounds to spare so I won't waste away lol

otterbaby · 11/03/2020 12:47

@Glitterbug86 so cute! I had my scan yesterday for a check up, finally looking like a real baby!

Early Oct babies part 2!
Glitterbug86 · 11/03/2020 12:53

Thanks @otterbaby

Wow your scan is amazing, can see so much detail

SkyBlue20 · 11/03/2020 14:19

@bluemoon2468 Exactly the same here! I’m consoling myself with the fact that I seem to be eating less over the last few days as not constantly having to nibble crackers for the nausea so hopefully that’ll help, still eating a lot more than I used to though. Wearing a (floaty) dress today and have convinced myself that I’m showing as there’s a bit of belly - people probably won’t even notice but I do. Haven’t told my staff that I’m expecting yet so keep just hiding my stomach 😬

Wow, @otterbaby, what a fab scan!

Spark27 · 11/03/2020 17:26

@Daisythesnail, so sorry to hear your news. I cant imagine what you are going through. I hope you get lots of support from your family and the medics. This story really shows how risky pregnancy is and how lucky anyone with a healthy baby is. I'm going to hug my DD extra tight tonight.

@Glitterbug86 and @otterbaby, excellent news on the scans. 1w 1d until mine and I CANT wait. So nervous and anxious about it. Just want to know all is ok. And then that its only 1!

Treaclepie19 · 11/03/2020 17:32

I'm so sorry @Daisythesnail Flowers

LexiM · 11/03/2020 17:56

Just trying to catch up on here, haven’t had the energy to post for a couple of days. Monday night I felt so unwell but been much better since.

@Daisythesnail I am so sorry to hear what you’re going through. I hope the GP could see you ASAP. It must have been such a shock, I would be the same thinking of plans etc.

Lovely seeing everyone’s scans, I feel so far behind I’m having my booking appointment on Fridays at 9+6. Haven’t got a clue of a scan date yet.

Zaalfruit · 11/03/2020 17:57

@otterbaby omg that’s such a a amazing pic x

@Daisythesnail I hope you are alright x

@SkyBlue20 when my manager fell pregnant we all knew - but we waited till she announced it at 5 months we were so excited the girls in the team - we were like we knew it.🤣😂

On another note the Coronavirus is freaking me out - work keeps mentioning a lock down. The trains are gross with coughing people - who refuse to cough on a tissue .

Treaclepie19 · 11/03/2020 18:16

@Zaalfruit yeah its panicking me too. I want to just keep me, my husband and son safe at home but I can't 😔

Daisythesnail · 11/03/2020 19:32

Hi Everyone
Thanks for all your well wishes. GP sent me to Early Pregnancy Unit.
I was rescanned, confirmed yesterday’s findings.
They’ve scheduled an opp to remove pregnancy tissue next Tues unless my body does it before then, in which case I have to go this unit or out of hours to A and E.
In the meantime my body still thinks it’s pregnant, I’m starving nauseous peeing constantly, getting fatter.
So awful.
Daisy xxx

otterbaby · 11/03/2020 19:38

@Daisythesnail I'm so sorry to hear this. It must be so difficult. Sending strength your way x

BntTowers · 11/03/2020 19:42

@zaalfruit try and stay positive, hopefully everything will work out, I have my fingers crossed for you.

@daisythesnail my heart broke for you, I hope you manage to talk to your mum/ sister and manage to grieve your loss.

I've just been catching up with everyone as I've had a terrible day. Crap at work with people sending snotty emails and I've felt horribly sick all day. I'm just cooking tea for when DH comes in and it's a struggle. I don't think I'll eat much if any of it.
I'm tempted to tell work tomorrow, even though I'm not yet 9 weeks, I hope it will ease things a bit, but I'm not sure. I just really struggled today with people and feeling so terrible.

Glitterbug86 · 11/03/2020 20:09

@Daisythesnail so sorry that you are going through this, it's a worst nightmare situation 😢 Hope you've been able to tell your family/friends since and that they're taking good care of you. Will be thinking of you ❤️

LostinAusten2 · 11/03/2020 20:23

@Daisythesnail so so sorry for your loss - I don’t know if it helps that I promise you’re not the only one - it just happens, and you need to keep taking care of yourself and get any support you need, from your other half, your family and everyone else ❤️

@Zaalfruit - I think being alone at this time (whether with good news, bad news, or uncertainty) must be the hardest thing, so please do speak to your other half or anyone else that you can. I don’t know why, but definitely proven that talking about it helps us through the hardest times.

And @Glitterbug86 - so glad, v relieved for you 😊

I’m same as always - feeling like hell, living on white rice and looking so dodgy at work that everyone keeps asking if I’m corona-virused 🥳. Upside: Liverpool playing this eve to take my mind off everything else 😄

Indigogirl88 · 11/03/2020 20:35

Snap on the fatty train! Nothing fits other than pjs and I've been trying to hide it at work. And the sickness is unreal tonight. Loved seeing the scan pictures ladies they're beautiful!

MrsD1990 · 11/03/2020 21:02

Wow amazing scans @Glitterbug86b and @otterbaby!! I don't have my 12 week one for another two weeks, can't come soon enough!

@Daisythesnail I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you're okay (as ok as you can be) sending lots of love. Please make sure you talk to your loved ones and get all the support you need.

So I've had a really annoying thing happen at work. Long story short, most of today has been spent working on documents for a big meeting at our client's office tomorrow. Then, this afternoon, we find out the client's office (which is huge, hundreds of people) has had a confirmed case of coronavirus. I ask for us to use video conferencing but the client wants to go ahead with the meeting so my boss says "you don't have to come if you don't want to" which puts me in a bad position because now I look less committed to my job than the others because I definitely don't want to go somewhere coronavirus has been confirmed. Also, now my team are going to the office so when they get back they could potentially expose me to the coronavirus so now I'm thinking I need to work from home for the next week or so until I'm sure they don't have symptoms. Maybe you'll think I'm overreacting, I know there's no special guidance for pregnant women but NHS says flu can cause complications, so that doesn't exactly reassure me. Anyway it's really wound me up and my mum (the only other person expert apart from my husband who knows I'm pregnant) keeps telling me I need to tell work I'm pregnant (I'm 10w2days, don't want to tell them yet but will if I have to)

Treaclepie19 · 11/03/2020 21:05

@MrsD1990 you absolutely should tell them because they will likely take a different stance on it. They'll also understand where you're coming from.

The flu is supposed to be different to coronavirus just to reassure you a little. The flu does put pregnant women in a more vulnerable state but coronavirus hasn't shown any more problems in pregnant women. It's more the elderly who are vulnerable.
I wouldn't blame you for not going to the office though. I think they're being too lax for all the staff tbh.

LexiM · 11/03/2020 21:24

Totally get the bigger tummy thing too! I feel huge by the end of the day.

@MrsD1990 I feel for you. Personally I think even if the client wanted to go ahead your Boss should be thinking of their staff and if video is appropriate go for that instead. I think you’ve either got to tell them you’re pregnant or ride it out for now and say you aren’t going and then later when you tell them they will understand why you said you didn’t want to go.
I know we can’t totally avoid situations for Coronavirus but I think it it’s not 100% necessary to go to meetings etc businesses shouldn’t if someone had the virus!

Glitterbug86 · 11/03/2020 21:42

Thanks @LostinAusten2 and @MrsD1990

@MrsD1990 that is a crappy situation. I don't think you're overreacting, I think it's unnecessarily reckless of your boss. I would consider telling them early, even though it's not fair if you feel forced into telling them. I wouldn't go anyways, and would choose whichever you felt was the lesser of 2 evils - telling them early or possibly leaving a bad impression for not going (which is unfair, but so is asking ye to go instead of video call IMO)
