Has anyone had a colposcopy done whilst pregnant? EPU referred me as I’ve had very bad, heavy, bright red bleeds throughout this pregnancy. I bled heavily during a speculum exam (covered the bed) and they want me to get checked out. I’ve never had one before but have googled and found out it makes you bleed? I’m worried I might have a big bleed given the amount I’ve bled already? Any experience?

flossletsfloss · 09/03/2020 09:51

How are you doing OP? Did the appointment on Friday go ok? Thinking of you.

Robstersgirl · 09/03/2020 14:23

It was the best outcome I could’ve hoped for they are aiming to cure it, dependant on pet scan results, Verity’s blood supply was feeding the cancer and make it grow way too quickly. I start chemo and radiotherapy on the 6th April as they have to let my organs go down after the operation. Battle begins. I’m still in a lot of pain following the c section. Thanks for thinking of me.

What a lot to take in. Sending all my love.

HugeAgeGap · 09/03/2020 17:11

@Robstersgirl sounding really positive that they can completely combat this. Good you're having a break before the treatment begins. Sorry to hear the section is causing you trouble, it really does take a while to get over that kind of surgery and it's still early days for you yet. Take care of yourself and all the best x x x

flossletsfloss · 09/03/2020 17:57

I'm having colposcopy in a few weeks, at that time I'll be 21 weeks. Can't say I'm not worried Sad

Parkandride · 12/03/2020 13:48

I'm so pleased you have a plan, I really hope the pain eases up soon x

flossletsfloss · 21/03/2020 13:18

How are you doing OP? All of the coronavirus crisis on top of everything must be really hard for you. I hope your plan for treatment is still going ahead.

Parkandride · 22/03/2020 10:33

Been thinking of you, how are you doing?

Robstersgirl · 22/03/2020 13:05

Badly. The cancer pain is awful and isn’t controlled by my painkillers. I’m all alone with the kids as OH developed symptoms and has gone home. My whole support networks self isolating. I can’t sleep in my bedroom as it needs deep cleaning now so I slept in my car last night. I’m missing Verity so much today and my oldest daughter who couldn’t leave uni. I’m the highest risk group for C-19 as I have COPD too. Things couldn’t be much worse really.

Robstersgirl · 22/03/2020 13:06

I can’t walk or drive either and my wound still hurts. I’m on painkillers 18 hours a day.
