Has anyone had a colposcopy done whilst pregnant? EPU referred me as I’ve had very bad, heavy, bright red bleeds throughout this pregnancy. I bled heavily during a speculum exam (covered the bed) and they want me to get checked out. I’ve never had one before but have googled and found out it makes you bleed? I’m worried I might have a big bleed given the amount I’ve bled already? Any experience?

Thank you lovely ones. Just want tomorrow to be over and done with. I’m trying to be positive and thinking they have to be extra cautious because of baby. It’s going to be ok. Smile

Nelbert19 · 25/02/2020 08:49

All the best today OP, sending you good wishes

FeedMeChoc · 25/02/2020 08:52

Best of luck darling. Generally they don’t tell you over the phone as the person booking it is ‘just’ admin and they don’t have any details. The consultants like to tell you everything themselves, good and bad, in case you have any questions.

Will be thinking of you today xx

HugeAgeGap · 25/02/2020 08:55

Just came across your post @Robstersgirl as I have had lots of previous colposcopy, biopsies and treatments and can really sympathise with the waiting around to hear something.

I'm thinking of you today and sending lots of love and courage and positivity xxx

GU24Mum · 25/02/2020 08:57

Another good luck message from me. I thought they didn't tell you it was ok on the phone as then anyone who would t get that message would know it wasn't ok and they'd rather talk to you in person.

I suspect it's more a case of not wanting to worry you without full information than wanting to keep things from you.

Keep strong.

It’s stage 3c. I have to terminate the baby on Friday as it’s spread to my lymph nodes, they can’t operate.

GU24Mum · 25/02/2020 14:47

OP, I'm so terribly sorry to hear your update. I'd hoped for you that it was something so much less awful than this.

I hope you've got great support from your family and friends.

Xx

Nelbert19 · 25/02/2020 14:53

I am so so sorry, what terrible news. I hope you have friends and family around you now xx

HugeAgeGap · 25/02/2020 15:10

I'm so so sorry to hear this, so very devastated for you. I'd definitely look up Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust as a massive support there, lots of people going through similar situations to get support from. They really are a fantastic support charity. Don't feel alone in this, reach out to friends/family and take all the support offered. It will be a shock initially but you'll get stronger and feel more able to deal with everything as it sinks in. Hang in there xxx
