Has anyone had a colposcopy done whilst pregnant? EPU referred me as I’ve had very bad, heavy, bright red bleeds throughout this pregnancy. I bled heavily during a speculum exam (covered the bed) and they want me to get checked out. I’ve never had one before but have googled and found out it makes you bleed? I’m worried I might have a big bleed given the amount I’ve bled already? Any experience?

hope you're ok @Robstersgirl Thanks

99problemsandthecatis1 · 20/02/2020 21:25

Goodness me, that's all happened very quickly. Must be such a shock for you. Praying it's all just one of those things and nothing sinister.

Hollywhiskey · 20/02/2020 21:34

Good luck. It's good that whatever it it is being dealt with quickly. X

marmite51 · 20/02/2020 21:39

Wishing you all the best OP x

Robstersgirl · 21/02/2020 07:50

No answers. I’m hoping praying the MRI is just a precaution because of my pregnancy.
I was in the actual scanner well over an hour and it was really painful on my back to stay in the same position. I have to wait for my results, which I was expecting. Waiting is the worst.

Really hope everything turns out to be fine for you OP. It must be so horrible for you but try to stay strong. Hopefully answers will come soon.Flowers

Puddlesplasher · 21/02/2020 10:42

Thinking of you and hoping you get some answers soon Thanks

smashandpeas · 21/02/2020 11:13

Thinking of you OP. At least you don't have too long to wait and will hopefully get answers quickly xx

LapsedVeganAcademic · 21/02/2020 12:40

Still rooting for you. Everything crossed.

Robstersgirl · 21/02/2020 12:56

They’ve just called me to see consultant on Tuesday. Don’t know what to think.

Lalla525 · 21/02/2020 13:37

Honestly though - how can they leave somebody in the dark for days after they scare the hell out of them? I'm speechless.

OP, thinking of you and hopefully these few days will go by quickly

Saoirse22 · 21/02/2020 14:57

I really don't like the way you're being treated. I know you're very stressed and everything is really hard atm, but the next time you're in, you should really be very vocal and direct and demand a better communication from now on. They have to explain you every step step of what's going on, the way they're doing it now is totally wrong.

Parkandride · 21/02/2020 15:58

Hope you get some answers on Tuesday, try to do some nice things this weekend to help occupy your mind Flowers

smashandpeas · 21/02/2020 17:15

Did they give you no further information over the phone? I know it's easier said than done but do try and do something to make your mind off everything until Tuesday. I can't even imagine how stressful this must be OP. I will be thinking of you xx

iswhois · 22/02/2020 08:05

I second @Saoirse22, it's more stressful and worrying to not know what is going on.

Wishing you all the best Thanks I can't imagine how scared you must be

Robstersgirl · 22/02/2020 10:43

No further info on phone just that I need to go in on Tuesday.
This has got me freaking out more as surely they tell you on the phone if everything’s ok? It’s so hard not to find up with the worst case scenario in your head. I’m being a snappy cow too as it’s just so stressful.

flossletsfloss · 22/02/2020 12:48

I don't think they would tell you even if everything was ok OP. They are just told to book the appointment. Try not to worry, the fast majority will be fine, hold onto that. Sending you good luck for Tuesday, we are all rooting for you. X

smashandpeas · 24/02/2020 07:36

How are you op? Hope you did something to take your mind off everything at the weekend. I will be thinking of you tomorrow Thanks x

Robstersgirl · 24/02/2020 09:29

Times going so slowly. Thank you for the kind wishes.

Not much longer now Robsters. Have you got anything planned for today to keep busy? Thinking of you.

Hollywhiskey · 24/02/2020 16:19

My SIL had cancer and is now clear. No they don't tell you on the phone when it's ok. Both are treated in exactly the same way with a face to face appointment. They know that either way you will have questions and they will have explanations.
I understand that waiting is so so hard for you but please try not to come to any conclusions until the doctor has given you accurate information. Then whatever it is at least you will know and you will be able to make a proper plan.
Thinking of you x

Jingers5 · 24/02/2020 20:39

Robstersgirl, wishing you luck for tomorrow. It must be awful for you having to worry all weekend. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.
