So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@MrsD1990 I'm in (relatively) central London and didn't have a pollution test at my booking in appt 😕

MrsD1990 · 01/03/2020 18:26

@bluemoon2468 oh really! I thought it would be routine for anyone in London - just because I had one and the people we know who are expecting that live in London (but different part of London to us) did too. In that case I have no idea why some people have it and some don't! Maybe just varies hospital to hospital

Tryingforanother2020 · 01/03/2020 19:15

@BntTowers I don't have my booking appt with the midwife until 11 weeks!! Seems so late doesn't it?! But I did have to have a blood test today as apparently they do bloods before 10 weeks now x

BntTowers · 01/03/2020 19:39

@Tryingforanother2020 11 weeks does seem late.
I've not had any bloods or anything. I think I have to go and pick up some sort of a kit before hand, maybe the receptionist will be helpful.
We just have to hope it goes by quickly, when will your appointment be? Mines not until the 24th.

Tryingforanother2020 · 01/03/2020 19:42

@BntTowers maybe they'll do them at your appointment, I think some areas do. Mines the 29th. Counting down haha!

BntTowers · 01/03/2020 20:16

Last week seemed to pass quite quickly, here's hoping for a few more quick weeks. Not that I'm wishing it away, I just want to know everything is ok.

I think we'll have to start a new thread soon, they tend to stop at about page 40!

LexiM · 01/03/2020 20:18

My booking appointment is 13th March and I will be 9+6 which seems late compared to some others but I don’t mind, it’s going quite fast. Just hoping the scan will be booked in for soon after! Every area seems to be different!

Zaalfruit · 01/03/2020 20:34

Hiya everyone :) how’s everyone feeling ? My nausea has kinda cleared up - but have a stinking cold which may be the reason why.. I have a question I forgot to ask the nurse - can I eat smoked salmon ? Craving a smoked salmon bagel so much.

Zaalfruit · 01/03/2020 20:38

@Tryingforanother2020 I had my booking appointment on Saturday - they didn’t even warn me about bloods or urine test . Once I got to the hospital they were like we are going to take your blood . I have my scan on Tuesday is there anything I need to do to prepare for it. Also has anyone else been told that they need to book the flu jab? My nurse was cross that the doctors didn’t suggest it .

MrsD1990 · 01/03/2020 20:39

@zaalfruit yep! This is what the NHS website says:

Smoked fish in pregnancy is safe
Smoked fish, which includes smoked salmon and smoked trout, is considered safe to eat in pregnancy.

Feel better soon!!

Zaalfruit · 01/03/2020 21:03

Thank you so much @MrsD1990 been craving it so much x

BntTowers · 01/03/2020 21:31

@zaalfruit like I said, I've not been for an appointment yet, but it makes sense to have a flu jab. I think it's quite normal to have one when you are pregnant. It will help protect you both and can't be a bad thing.

MamaNaz20 · 01/03/2020 23:23

Hi Ladies
I imagine most of you are going to tell work About pregnancy after 12 weeks? In that case are you taking annual leave for appointments or medical leave or ...?

BooMamaBear · 02/03/2020 05:10

Are you in the Uk? By law they have to give you time off for pregnancy related appointments and it doesn't go down as sick leave nor do you have to take it as annual leave - even if you're off sick due to pregnancy they can't mark it down as sick leave!! Xx

BooMamaBear · 02/03/2020 05:17

I have to have my flu jab anyway so me and DD have had ours (she gets a nose spay) they will recommend you have one definitely over winter but I'm not sure if they recommend you to have one if winter has passed coz like I said I have to have one anyway maybe ask your Midwife? Xx

BooMamaBear · 02/03/2020 05:19

@Zaalfruit -I have my scan Tuesday too -you need to have a full bladder and take your hand held notes with you apart from that hope it all goes well! Xx

Lucylou37 · 02/03/2020 07:42

Morning Ladies! Love reading about how your journeys are progressing! Hope you're all well 😊 is anyone experience cravings? At the moment I can't get enough of ice cold milk and cereal (coco pops, which I haven't eaten since I was about 10) and lemony yoghurts!! (I also can't stop eating beige carbs but I can't work out if that's just me all the time) 😂! Be interested to hear what other people can't stop eating xxx

Indigogirl88 · 02/03/2020 08:29

Carbs and cheese all the way at the moment! I'm having an issue with raw meat.

Theres the October 2020 thread as well so we could all join up seeing as we are getting full!

SkyBlue20 · 02/03/2020 08:29

Morning all!

Oh wow, I just assumed we couldn’t have smoked salmon, you’ve made my day with that, @MrsD1990 !

@Zaalfruit Yes I was told to get the flu jab. Haven’t done it yet, must get that sorted - there’s so much to organise! Kind of waiting for my 12 week scan date so I can do that, flu jab and dentist (I’m due a check up) all on the same day and not have to take loads of time out of the office!

@Lucylou37 I haven’t had cravings as such (not to the extent that I’m like it just have this now!’) but am definitely loving carbs and cheese!

Feeling much better this morning - was a bit nauseous when I woke up but husband got up and made me breakfast (bless him) and it’s helped with the commute - I usually have it when I get to work but I think this may have to be my new norm. Just know I’ll be starving by 10 though 😂🙈 How’s everyone getting on?

MamaNaz20 · 02/03/2020 08:36

@BooMamaBear yes I am but I haven't told work I am pregnant yet and wasn't planning to do so until 12 weeks
I am working for the same company I was with my DS several years ago but back then I had my annual leave (just by chance) coinciding with some of my early appointments- I didn't tell work last time until I was 12 weeks; although I think that's not possible given I am growing much faster this time !! Any second+ pregnancies ladies that you feel this time size wise it's progressing much faster ? I was expecting to be in normal clothes for a while but my tight trousers are already out
Confused

Spark27 · 02/03/2020 08:54

@MamaNaz20 I felt like I had loads of bloating between about 5 and 7 weeks. Felt like I had a really solid pot belly. I feel like in the last few weeks it's gone down a bit. I'm 10w today (yay, officially a foetus now) and I seem a bit wobbly in the morning, and then gradually bloat during the day, only getting to uncomfortable levels after dinner. With my DD i didn't really seem to have any bump until about 17w. I've always been slim, and i only ever really put the bump on. I dread to think what will happen this time. I'm definitely going to get more wear out of my maternity clothes!

I had my flu jab when I found out, so about 5w ago. Depending on when they become available next time, and when I actually give birth, I'll see if I manage to get another one in next flu season.

Spark27 · 02/03/2020 08:57

I'm taking advantage of the time out of the office for appts and etc. I did really take any time during my last pregnancy, and still worked myself hard right up to the end. I've decided this time 'sod it'. All going well this should be my last pregnancy, and I'm so much more tired due to having DD, so if I need time off I'm going to take it.
Once I've got 2 kids and am back at work I'll be run ragged for the next 15yrs ShockGin

MrsB1821 · 02/03/2020 10:22

@LexiM @Tryingforanother2020 @BntTowers - my first appointment is late too - 10 weeks. Was concerned as you are supposed to have bloods before then but just have to trust them I guess.

I don’t feel pregnant at all atm - emotional and hungry but things seem to have calmed down that much im worried. Dreamt I mis carried last night - was awful - sooo real. I was so relieved when I woke up I cried.

Anyone else that doesn’t feel pregnant??? X

Treacle81 · 02/03/2020 11:37

Hey girls, it has been strange as my sore boobs and nausea seemed to disappear at the wknd but unfortunately come back last night! Fed up of the sight of damn ginger nut biscuits 🤢 I seem to crave greasy food like chips and cheese and pizza when nausea at its worst. Had first salad in ages on Sun as didn’t feel sick but back to the pizza last night when it returned! Don’t see need for flu jab now season has passed x
