So today I found out I’m pregnant with #1 ! & I honestly haven’t stopped crying with happiness all morning. Although I know it’s early days, I just wanted to see if there were any other early Oct babies due so that we can share the journey! I’m over the moon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@MrsB1821 It’s a tough one, and I suppose it depends on what your doing with the girls? If it’s a meal could you sit away from your friend?

My boss is coughing and spluttering this week, I’m trying to keep my distance. But in a small office it’s quite impossible

bluemoon2468 · 26/02/2020 14:59

@SkyBlue20 ugh, I'm flying to Canada and back at 14/16 weeks and I'm really, really hoping my nausea has sorted itself out by then or I'm in for a miserable 10 hours!

butterflylove81 · 26/02/2020 18:37

I'm pretty worried about Coronavirus someone at work is in Italy and doesn't know if she will be self quarantined in return appartantly she rang to say she has to seek advice Monday.

BntTowers · 26/02/2020 18:41

@butterflylove81 I've got very similar situation at the moment, someone has just come back from Tenerife, stayed about a mile away from the infected hotel. They were joking about having to self quarantine, but so far has been in the office for 3 days. I'm half tempted to tell work my situation early and let HR in head office know at the same time that someone has just come back from Tenerife and hope that something gets done.
The difficulty is that we are a regional office with no HR anymore (she retired early this year) and I really doubt they will replace her.

MrsB1821 · 27/02/2020 07:19

Thanks for the suggestions ladies - we couldn’t find any weekend we were all free at all last year so this is a real treat! I just don’t know what to do as part of me says I’m over reacting and the other part says don’t risk it. I’ve no idea what excuse to use for not going as it was me who instigated it. I’ve read that she would only be infectious for 2 weeks - she is now on week 3.

K virus is also a concern - I mean have they said how it effects pregnant women and unborn children?? Xx

MamaNazi · 27/02/2020 08:31

Ladies I just changed my nickname from Nazly to MamaNazi

@MrsB1821 I haven't heard anything about how it affects pregnant women or unborn babies but I think there are not enough cases in the UK to start becoming a real worry yet... it's a complicated situation but if you feel it's a real treat and your friend is already in her third week of infection I would go but try to keep the distance x

Ladies I keep getting some very mild signs of pregnancy and losing them - it's getting annoying - I am thinking of getting some cheap pregnancy test and continue testing every time I don't feel pregnant although I know the hormone stay in your body for a little while after MC

I paid a visit to GP yesterday so she can kickstart the process. This is not my first, but I can't remember what happened in my visit last time around it was so long ago- the GP didn't do anything (I think last time it was a bit of health check, a form with weight, etc) this time she just said I will refer you to antenatal
Does this sound right ?

Quiffy · 27/02/2020 10:22

@MamaNazi I visited my GP but only to check whether to stop a medication. I was to phone and book in my midwife appointment myself, so that sounds about right.

@MrsB1821 If it's week 3 maybe go for it and just sit away from her? Seems a shame to miss out and not get your chance to tell them all.

CouscousEvaporator · 27/02/2020 10:56

@mamanazi how do you pronounce that name- like nazi??

@MrsB1821 I would probably avoid going, because they will understand once you tell them your news. It is a shame though!

I’ve finally got some let up on the all day sickness 🥳 hooray
Thinking of booking an early scan but not sure yet, they are so expensive here and no groupon codes.

MamaNaz20 · 27/02/2020 11:19

@CouscousEvaporator oh my!!! Thanks for asking that question- I didn't think how it sounds so now changed it again!! Embarrassing

Glad your sickness is better today :)

CouscousEvaporator · 27/02/2020 11:40

Haha I thought I had it wrong!!
And thank you, hope it stays away now 😅
Also, to reassure you, my GP didn’t seem to have a clue what the pregnancy process was, I just self referred to the hospital 🙂

BooMamaBear · 27/02/2020 14:18

Hi guys soz soz for the radio silence been feeling pretty rubbish but then since yesterday my nausea has stopped and my boobs aren't really tender anymore -I'm 7 weeks today and have an NHS scan with a consultant in Tuesday so hopefully everything is ok and I get to hear the heartbeat!! Xx

Quiffy · 27/02/2020 16:49

@BooMamaBear exciting for scan! I’ve got mine on Sunday - feels like it’s been an age to get here

Got my blood results back, although liver still not normal it’s more normal than my first. So I’m to go back in two weeks but hopefully all okay woo

BooMamaBear · 27/02/2020 18:29

Let us know how it goes @Quiffy xx

WhippetMumma · 27/02/2020 23:39

Hello,
We've found out we're pregnant and the due date (according to an app on my phone) is 12th of October 2020!!!

This will hopefully be our first child but I'm so so nervous as I have miscarried before (early). We have a private scan booked for next weekend when I'll be 7 weeks & 3 days (Is that 7+3? I've see this used alot online but am clueless). I promise I've ordered a book from Amazon and it should be arriving tomorrow!

No sickness yet touches wood, but OMG my boobs!! I don't remember them hurting this much last time... Does the boob hurt get any better?

Quiffy · 28/02/2020 09:35

@WhippetMumma congratulations! My boob pain was awful at first - couldnt stand to not have a bra on. Im 7+6 today and last two nights I've slept without a bra for first time in weeks. Still sore but not as bad! First for me too, so also feeling clueless yet still not read any books either whoops.

Midwife appointment today! Bit nervous but I'm sure it will be more boring than anything...

MrsB1821 · 28/02/2020 10:02

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. I called and spoke to midwife and she said that my friend shouldn’t be infectious as she is in 2/3 week and that I could pick up a virus anywhere. She said laughter with friends is good for the baby and my well being over possibly picking up a cold! I am not prone to chest infections and I’m healthy so her exact words were - ‘Go and have fun!’
She really reassured me.

In other news - I don’t feel pregnant at all today Confused

Hoping I get a symptom of some sort. Weird how they are so reassuring! Xx

Treacle81 · 28/02/2020 12:32

Hey guys! Congrats any new BFPs 🤰❤️ I am feeling the same, woke with no nausea, no boob pain and just feel v normal (strange) 8+2. Got mw Mon and scan Tuesday! xx

Treacle81 · 28/02/2020 12:33

@WhippetMumma yes you are correct with date xx

Treaclepie19 · 28/02/2020 12:39

Glad she was reassuring @MrsB1821! Enjoy :)

@Treacle81 I think a lot of us are feeling like frauds at the moment!
Exciting about your scan. Mine is Wednesday and I'll be 9+3 then. Nervous is an understatement.

BooMamaBear · 28/02/2020 16:13

@Treaclepie19 -my scan is the day before yours but I think I'm only 7+5 then so you're further along than me - the Midwife has put me down as 8+4 due to my LMP but I have a 5 week cycle usually! My DD has already told me I look like I have a baby in my tummy which hive had to deny for now coz I'm normally slim but get bad water retention so I always look way more pregnant than I am! Last time I have people asking when I'm due and when I tell them it's like 6 months time they look at me gone out one woman said bloody you'll you're gonna be huge!! I thought that was pretty rude and i wasn't huge with my DD the baby just caught up with the excess water!! Xx

MamaNaz20 · 28/02/2020 18:25

Hi ladies
I had a call today informing me that I will get an appointment with a midwife at week 9; before then there is no reason to be in touch. Does that also sound right ?
I can't believe how much I forgot !

Treaclepie19 · 28/02/2020 18:31

@MamaNaz20 yeah that's right Smile
I had mine at 8+3. Standard now to just have a midwife appointment about 8/9 weeks and then nothing until the dating scan.

@BooMamaBear yeah I'm already sporting quite the swollen stomach. I'm not slim though so I doubt anyone will guess.

bluemoon2468 · 29/02/2020 06:32

Booking in appointment this morning at 8+5 😊 excited to get the ball rolling and be referred for my 12 week scan! Can't quite believe it's been 5 weeks and 1 day since I found out I was pregnant!

Treacle81 · 29/02/2020 08:34

I’ll be the same come Tuesday @bluemoon2468 🤰❤️Xx

Spark27 · 29/02/2020 09:02

Yay, @bluemoon2468, another milestone met. I had my booking in appt really early on so it feels like ages until my 12w scan. Only 2.5 weeks to go........
